Hey everyone (:

I'm really really happy about the 100 reads that I reached just recently. I know it's not that much, but I never expected to achieve so many reads on an English story! It really takes a lot of effort to write something in another language and I'm so happy about every single read that I get (:

Thanks so much for your support! :)

This chapter is a little longer than the chapters that I posted before, I hope you like it :)

A few minutes later, they arrived in front of a dark house with a huge sign saying “bar” in all caps. Pop music came from inside, and when Klaus opened the front door, multicolored lights dazzled her eyes.

Klaus put on a smirk. “Ladies first.”

She walked past him with a grin and looked around. She spotted people dancing and talking with drinks in their hands, the music was loud and just the way she liked it.  A bright smile played on her lips.

Even if she didn’t know what Klaus was up to, she couldn’t help but admit that she liked this place. It reminded her of the parties at the grill in Mystic Falls, just that everything seemed a lot bigger and somehow wilder.

At the thought of Mystic Falls, a picture of Tyler appeared. She shook her head, trying to clear her mind.

Tonight was nothing for grief.

Klaus appeared in front of her. “This is the perfect place to forget, get lost and have fun.” He grinned.

“Great,” she answered.

“Let’s compel ourselves a drink, shall we?”

She watched him as he took a few steps towards the barkeeper before she turned away and walked in the opposite direction.

She didn’t know anybody, which was good because this was the perfect opportunity to just let everything go for a few hours and enjoy herself. On the other hand, it was also kind of terrible because she had to trust Klaus not to do anything stupid since he was the only person she had right now.

And she didn’t like it.

She was uncomfortable with the fact that he could just compel her to do basically anything he wanted. But deep inside, she somehow believed he wouldn’t.

Suddenly, Klaus pulled her back from her thoughts, handing her a drink. She gave him a thankful look and took a sip. “That’s strong,” she noted and twisted her mouth.

He laughed and watched her have another sip.

She sat down on a barstool and it didn’t take her long to empty her glass. A few drinks later, she was already drunk enough to get up and grab a blond stranger to dance with her. Out of the corner of her eyes, she could see Klaus, who was watching her with a very amused look. Apparently he enjoyed the show.

Great for him.

She grabbed the stranger and, with her vampire strength, jumped on a table with him, completely ignoring that people were watching. The blond man in front of her looked a little surprised and took a step back. She grabbed his wrist and looked him in the eyes.

“Don’t be scared,” she yelled under the loud music and an instant later, his fear had disappeared.

“You’re not going to scream,” she added, hugged him tightly and took a bite from his neck. She felt the warm, fresh blood running down her throat and let go of a groan.

“Leave, remember nothing,” she commanded and the guy left. She wiped the blood off her mouth and grinned at Klaus, who looked up at her with a smirk.

She repeated the same thing with two other guys, until she spotted a brunette girl next to Klaus, looking at Caroline with a shocked expression. Klaus turned around, said, “Nothing to see here” and the girl’s expression turned calm immediately.

She turned to leave, but he grabbed her. “Hey, what’s your name?”

“Miranda,” she answered.

He grinned. “You have a beautiful bracelet, Miranda. Let me see it.”

Caroline watched as the girl lifted her hand and Klaus stroked her wrist. “This is not going to hurt,” he murmured and drank from her wrist.

And according to his euphoric expression, Caroline supposed he wasn’t planning to stop.

Caroline jumped down from the table and landed in front of him. “Klaus!” she screamed. “Don’t kill her!”

He let go of her arm. “I wasn’t intending to do so,” he said. “Maybe you should trust me a little more,” he smirked.

“Maybe you should stop provoking me!”

“I wasn’t provoking you. I was just drinking a little blood.”

How much would she love to slap this smirking face in front of her.

She clenched her teeth in anger.

“Which is exactly what you’ve been doing,” he added.

It took a few seconds for the thought to sink into her drunk mind, but he was right.

Her eyes widened subtly and she bit her lip.

He was right.

What had she done?

This was so out of character for her. It wasn’t what she was supposed to do. She was supposed to be a good vampire who didn’t let herself turn into a bad vampire by… well, a bad vampire.

Klaus sent the girl away as he saw her damaged expression.

“And it’s okay,” he continued. “You’re a vampire. This is what we enjoy.”

“No,” she said. “This is what you enjoy. I’m not like you.”

“Yes, Caroline. You’re just like me. You like to be a vampire, and you know it.”

The truth in what he said hit her like a knife.

“This wasn’t supposed to happen.” A tear formed in her eye. “I shouldn’t be here.” She shook her head.

What was she thinking? Did she really think it would make her feel better to leave Mystic Falls? With Klaus, who just happened to be the devil in person? How could she possibly be so stupid?

“I should be at home,” she added. “I shouldn’t be here with you.”

She saw how his smirk disappeared and his expression became almost empathetic. He took a step closer and grabbed her shoulders, trying to pull her in for a hug.

No.

Don’t believe him, Caroline. Don’t believe anything about him. He doesn’t really care.

She turned on her heel, headed towards the door and sprinted outside.
