When their lips met, Caroline slowly closed her eyes. Their kiss deepened as Klaus effortlessly opened the zipper on her dress which he had closed just a few minutes ago. Standing in front of him, wearing nothing but her underwear, she ripped his shirt from his chest.
She let him push her down on the couch with him on top of her, his lips not leaving hers for a second. She wrapped her hands around his neck to pull him even closer. The fabric of his jeans scratched her bare legs and she was lucky when she noticed he was about to open it.
Suddenly, she rolled to the side and pushed him away.
"I'm sorry," she mumbled scarcely audible and touched her lips where they had met Klaus'. The kiss had left her completely speechless and out of breath.
Their silence became awkward as they stood still for a few seconds without moving. When their eyes met, Caroline looked bashfully at the ground. Finally, she couldn't stand the silence anymore. She took off without another word, shook her head and headed towards the bathroom to have a shower.
Somehow, showers never stayed showers for Caroline. They usually turned into the perfect place to think about the universe, life and all the other stuff she normally wouldn't think about.
And it wasn't different this time.
Her mind went straight from the number of stars in the sky to the answer to life and the universe. Finally, her mind settled on Christmas and she noticed how she was already a little excited about it.
She had always liked Christmas a lot. The snow, the atmosphere and all the decorated houses always made her feel happy.
How was she going to spend this Christmas? And where? She had promised Klaus a week, but there were almost 2 months left until Christmas and she wasn't sure if she was going to stay with him for that long. If things stayed as awkward as they were right now, probably not. Besides, she wanted to be with her friends and her mother on that special day.
Now that she already had that picture of her hometown in mind, she couldn't avoid thinking about the subjects she rather wanted to avoid.
Tyler. Her guilty conscience was killing her!
Maybe she couldn't deny that she had (very little!) feelings for Klaus, but how was this fair?
It had been less than a week since he had died, and still she had made out with Klaus.
Yes, she had kissed Klaus before when Tyler had still been alive. But it had been different back then.
Tyler had been damn furious, but they had sorted things out. This time, he was dead, gone for good, and he couldn't do anything about his girlfriend making out with his enemy. She had totally let him down.
Caroline didn't even know if he had found piece or if he was watching her right now, she knew nothing but the fact that what she was doing was absolutely wrong.
And besides, if he had been watching her all along, he would probably be mad as hell.
She couldn't even blame Klaus for everything, because in the end, it was still her who had agreed. Klaus had only made the offer, but she was the one to say yes.
Right now, she felt like her heart was being wrenched from her chest.
Speaking of ripping people's heart out...
Rebekah. She clenched her fist in anger. She wanted to pay her back for what she had done, but how?
You couldn't just kill an original vampire without any help, and Caroline doubted that Klaus would help her eliminate his own sister. You could only have an advantage over an original if you surprised them, but the fact that Klaus was watching over her shoulder all the time made her secret mission nearly impossible. And anyway, she would've needed this special dagger to actually kill her. Rebekah was immortal, you couldn't just do the stake-to-the-heart thing.
