──── Mallory Thompson

MALLORY RAN HER FINGERS ACROSS THE COARSE FUR COAT OF ROSIE. The pit bull had since drifted off into her form of the dream realm, her head was resting in the young blonde's lap. Beside her sat Brody and Marlon, the two were engaged in a quiet conversation—for once in her life, Mallory had not wanted to participate.

Instead, the teenager's eyes were focused on Clementine and AJ as they made their rounds and talked briefly to each member. She noticed that the boy had seemed to be consumed by a wave of shyness as he trailed behind the older one of the pair. Clementine made quick work to introduce herself to each of the troubled youth, no longer wishing to be a stranger to those who saved her and her boy.

Mallory was stumped. Observing the pair closely, she had noticed that they didn't look similar at all, and she wondered what their story was. They seemed alright, for the most part, and Mallory had decided that anyone who hadn't landed a place in the boarding school automatically had a better life than she did. It wasn't that she despised the school entirely, as having her brother and friends she considered her family made her numbered days here at least tolerable. In addition to all of that, she wondered if Clementine and AJ would be able to help her gain a new perspective on the world as a whole—showing her what they had learned from the outside world.

"Hey," a voice shook her from her looming thoughts and her sea-green eyes flickered towards the pair that sat beside her. Her brother had been the one to talk, his eyes curiously gazing into hers as he awaited the answer to a question she had not heard. "You in there?" He asked.

"Huh?" Mallory questioned, blinking her eyes once. "What was the question?"

Marlon rolled his eyes before an expression laced with absolute seriousness washed over his semi-relaxed face. It was easy to tell that while he agreed to allow Clementine and AJ shelter, at least for the time being, he had not completely let his guard down quite yet. Mallory could agree with this mindset as, while she held a particularly intrigued attitude towards the new arrivals, her doubt was the only thing preventing her from marching over towards the pair and demanding answers to questions she'd conjure in a moment.

"I said... what were you thinking risking the safety of everyone?" Marlon pressed, his annoyed tone easily distinguishable. "One of you could have been killed or at least seriously hurt."

Mallory tensed, sensing a brewing fight between her and her brother. She sat up straighter, disrupting poor Rosie in the process. Although, the dog lifted her head once and adjusted her position before going back to sleep. Mallory's jaw clenched and her eyes narrowed as she glowered at her twin. Marlon did the same, both not wishing to be the first to back down. Brody watched, pinching the bridge of her nose in irritation as she was well accustomed to the sibling's quarrels.
