THE GROUP OF FOUR WANDERED INTO THE ABANDONED SPACE AND THAT THE LONG-FORGOTTEN GREENHOUSE LAY IN. Mallory scanned the area, surprised to hear no familiar sounds of the undead, but she was still cautious. If there was one thing that she learned about this world it was the fact that you never let your guard down until you knew completely you were safe.

Ruby was ahead of everyone. It seemed she was the most eager out of all of them to get inside. Why? Mallory had no idea, as if there was anything important they had left behind, they would've come back a long time ago to claim it once again. At this point, she practically forgot what was inside, but maybe there were even a couple of things that would help them greatly. She at least hoped, even though hope was hard to come by these days.

"Guess I didn't realize how long it's been. How much it's changed," Ruby spoke.

"Everything's changed," Mallory muttered. "I didn't really expect it to still be the same."

The walls of the greenhouse had seen better days. The wood had been weathered down by countless rainstorms, and the windows had been shattered and were near impossible to see through due to the condensation that gathered on the glass. The vegetation surrounding the small building had since grown, with vines of ivy clinging to the surface of the structure and climbing upwards.

Ruby attempted to force the locked door open, a noise of frustration escaping her as Mitch approached her with crossed arms. "This ain't budging," he observed the obvious.

"Are you gonna stand there sulking all day, or are you gonna do something useful?" Ruby accused, causing the frown on Mitch's face to grow.

Tensions were running high since Clementine and AJ arrived back at the school. While they were allowing the duo to stay—for the time being—most of them still were not happy. Ruby, Mitch, and Mallory were among the majority that opted to cast Clementine and AJ out, and the fact that they had come running back less than twenty-four hours later didn't sit well with the teenagers.

"Well, we need that barbed wire. There must be another way in," Clementine chimed in.

"I'll check around the side," Mallory suggested.

Everyone nodded and the blonde maneuvered her way around the corner of the building, a thick patch of foliage crunching under her feet as she scanned the perimeter. It didn't take long to find a ladder already placed against the side of the building. Unfortunately, upon further inspection, she noticed that the bottom half was gone.
