A few years later ...
"So how good have you got with your bow Y/N?" Trumpkin nodded over to the corner. You looked over to where Trumpkin was mentioning to, where a bow and arrows sat. The bow was bright red with golden cravings in the handle and next to it lay a handful of arrows with a red feather. The bow and arrows had been a present from badger who had decided it was best that you learnt how to fend for yourself. "I'm ok" you answered turning back around to face your guests. "She's better then ok... I saw her practicing this morning. hit almost all her targets." Nikabrik stated. You had lived with TruffleHunter ever since that day he had saved you from the kings knights and had befriended many of the Narnia's. The two closest friends you had made was the two dwarfs; Nikabrik and Trumpkin who were now sat at the dinner table creating small talk with both you and TruffleHunter.
Trumpkin had long blonde hair and a beard that sat down to his stomach, he had always had someone what of a short temper, however his temper always seemed to be better then Nikabriks. Nikabrik always seemed to be angry at the world, every little thing seemed to get on his nervous. Nikabrik's hair unlike Trumpkins was short and dark; he too had a beard but his only sat down to his chest.
"I'm glad to hear that your skills have improved; at least now I won't have to worry as much about where you point that thing." Trumpkin smiled.
"Hopefully one day I will get to use it for good and help Narnia take back what once was theirs." You smiled placing a hand on the sword at your side. The sword had never left your side since the day you found it. You had gone of exploring with Reepicheep to Cair Paravel a place you had always wanted to explore after hearing the stories of the kings and queens of old. Of course Cair Paravel was now in ruins after the telmarines had invaded it, however it hadn't made it any less beautiful. While explore you had found a sword hide beneath some fallen rocks. When you had got home Trufflehunter had examined the sword and to your disbelief had told you that it had once belonged to King Edmund the Just. Ever since then you had carried the sword with you as a symbol of hope that one day Narnia will be what it once was.
"I believe that you will one." Trufflehunter's sentence was cut short as Nikabrik hushed us placing a finger on his lips and a hand by his ear. As you listened carefully you could hear the thudding of hoofs getting closer and closer. "I believe you will get to use that bow sooner than you thought" Trumpkin said getting up from the table to get his sword. Grabbing your bow you headed out the door with Nikabrik and Trumpkin close behind. As you ran out from under the trees roots you could see a boy who seemed to be only a few years older then you and had shoulder length black hair. Trumpkin wasted no time in running at the boy sword held high.
"STOP" you shouted as you saw a horn in the shape of a lions head not to far away from the boy. You realized this horn from the story's that you had been told ... it was Susan's horn. "But he's seen us" Nikabrik stated, looking more then ready to end the boys life. You all turned your heads as soldiers made their way towards you. "Take care of him" Trumpkin shouted running at the soldiers with Nikabrik ready to fight. You turned back to the boy walking slowly towards him and picking up a rock from the ground. You kept your eyes on him as he watched your every move. Seeing the rock he started to panic grabbing the horn only inches away from him and blowing it as hard as he could. Silence fell from the horn only seconds before as you hit the boy around the head with the rock only hard enough to knock him unconscious.
Turning on your heel you grabbed an arrow from your back placing it on your bow and started firing at the on coming soldiers, making sure to miss your friends with every arrow that flew. A scream was heard as an arrow pierced its way through the soldiers leg. You turned to another on coming solider, you knew you had no time to load your bow dropping it to the floor you pulled out your sword from its sheath swinging it in the soldiers direction. All that could be heard was metal hitting metal and the stomping of horses hooves on the hard dirt floor. A another shout was heard this time though it wasn't a scream of pain but instead the shout of a solider telling them to retreat. You watched as the solider started to ride of from where they came.
"Where's Trumpkin?" Nikabrik asked as he made his way over to you.
"He's not with you?" You looked around for any sign of him then it hit you, "They took him."
"What are we going to do with this one?" Nikabrik asked giving the boy a good kick in the ribs.
"We'll take him in to Trufflehunter, I'm sure he'll know what to do" Re-sheathing your sword and placing your arms under his you dragged him towards the house. "Make sure to pick up that horn" you nodded to Nikabrik before continuing on inside the house.
