Stay By My Side (Edmund x Reader )

A night at the Telmarines Castle

That night everyone had put on their armour and supplied themselves with weapons; you had made sure to pick up another sword seeing as you how now given Edmund his back. The plan had been set, Caspian, Susan and Peter would sneak into the castle to get the gate house so they could open it up for the army to get in. While you and Edmund would make your way to the tower so you could signal them once the gate was open. You were currently on a griffins back making your way to the castle with Edmund by your side. The nervous feeling hadn't gone away but your excitement had started to grow inside you pushing any negative thoughts you might have to the back for your mind. You looked over at Edmund, who gave you a slight smile.

"Edmund" you quietly spoke his attention focusing on you. "No matter what happens stay by my side"

"Of course" he replied before looking away towards the castle again; that was all you needed, you knew that as long as you stood next to Edmund in this battle you would be fine.

The griffins silently placed you on the roof of the tower. Looking down slightly you could see a guard on the ledge below you. Pressing a finger to your lips you signalled Edmund to stay silent as you reach for your bow and arrow. You could feel Edmunds arm wrap itself around your waist keeping you in place on the roof so you wouldn't slip. You could feel your heart start to race at Edmunds touch but now wasn't the time for that. Reaching for your bow you aimed it towards the solider, watching as the arrow glided throw the air without a sound and land straight in his chest. Sliding down the roof you landed on the ledge as Edmund unwrapped his arm from your waist. Walking to the edge you could see that most of the castle ground was clear apart from the odd guard. Nodding to Edmund you watched as he shone some kind of device on and off to signal the army and the rest of the Griffins carrying Peter, Susan and Caspian.

"Edmund" You shouted pushing him and you to the wall to avoid the arrow heading in your direction. You turned around as the arrow hit the wall next to you, reaching your bow and shooting an arrow back at the guard which swiftly landing in his neck.

"Thanks" he whispered

"No problem" You smiled back reaching for another arrow and readying it waiting for any other guards. You stood next to Edmund watching the ground below of any sign of trouble. Silence filled the air for a short amount of time when a sudden noise was heard from the ground below.

"What was that?" You whisper looking around you for any signs of more guards.

"We have a problem... I dropped my touch" Edmund replied

"What" You lowered your bow leaning over the edge to follow Edmunds gaze at the ground below. Grabbing hold of Edmunds hand you ran towards the stairs making sure way down to the next level.

"Y/N wait" He pulled you back as he pointed towards the window you had just passed. Looking out the open window you could see a guard, picking up the thing that Edmund called a torch and pressing the button. Edmund pulled you up against the wall with him to avoid you being seen as the light shone where you were stood only moments ago. You looked at each other in worry as you heard the bells alerting the rest of the guards. You watched as Edmund jumped out the window landing on the guard, you quickly followed him and un-sheathing your sword. Your attention soon turned to another guard who came running out of the room next to you. You ran towards him sword held high as you heard the clanging of metal behind you realizing that Edmund was now trying to fend off a guard that he had just landed on.. You ducked as the guard came at you swing his sword towards your head giving you the advantage to slash his side. The guard swung again this time you had no choose to block his attack with your own sword. It was clear he was a lot stronger then you as you felt him push you towards the edge of the wall,
