the colors of the sunset streaked across the sky, painting it different shades of orange and pink and purple. the cool breeze of the open sea chilled my exposed skin and i recoiled back a little, shivering.

"are you cold?" without waiting for me to answer, you pulled me in closer to your body and readjusted the blanket covering both of us. i snuggled comfortably into the warmth of your chest, listening to the calming waves and the rhythm of your heartbeat.

"it's beautiful," i said, my eyes transfixed on the fiery sunset.

you kissed my forehead. "just like you, love."

i suddenly felt extremely hot under the thick blanket.

"you cheesy bastard," i mumbled in embarrassment.

my eyes then found their way to your long slender neck, trailing up to your jawline, and eventually the profile of your face, seeming to have been sculpted by god himself.

the light of the setting sun made your skin glow like gold, and highlighted strands of your hazelnut brown hair.

"the view is just stunning, isn't it?" your smooth voice reached my ears, deeper than the ocean itself.

i reached a hand up to touch your face. "you're the only view i need."

you grinned and mimicked me. "you cheesy bastard."

i laughed and craned my neck to give you a passionate kiss.

"i love this," i murmured against your lips. " i wish we could stay like this forever."

i opened my eyes to see yours sparkling. you pressed your lips against mine again and pulled me into a tight embrace.

"me too, kookie."

you pulled away, smiling at me fondly.

"and we'll have all the time in the world to do that."
