He stared after her every day
Longing for a moment to lay
With her, even if it was in a bed of hay.

He will stare for hours
Until he devours
All her features and turns them into flowers.

He's greedy for her,
It's exquisite; his hunger
As he realises he's not getting any younger.

Time passes and does not wait,
He saw that as she aged
And looked for her soulmate
In the wrong place.

He hoped for a text
As she moved on to the next.
He stalled for too long
And has nowhere to belong.

His place was at her side,
So why did he hide?
There was nothing to his life,
She was his prime.

She was his sunshine,
For who he walked the extra mile-
For who he would always smile.
And yet their hearts never did collide.

She was the love of his life...
