Speaking from the heart
Is a hard challenge
Your throat clogs up
You're not sure of what to say
But then you look into their eyes
You think about the truth
A current of emotion flows through
And the words come out of the brain,
Exposed to the world
It's a moment of vulnerability
And temporary instability
Yet of tremendous relief
Even though brief
Your shoulders unburdened
Your heart light
Oh what a delight
it was speaking those heartfelt words
