A crown thrown around
A phone message left unread;
A life's ending thread
A love ending in tears;
A lover's deepest fears
A writer's final words;
An organ's broken chords
A child's shaking hands;
A foot sinking in Sahara sands
A wooden pencil on a desk;
As sharp as the moon's crescent crest
They're tell tale signs;
Of humanity's designs
