"What?"
"Umm, Oscar's the name."I looked at him, studying the features that looked so similar to Austin's. Do I tell him that I've been dating his brother?
"It just sounds familiar." I said trying to hide my shock. I sat up and looked around the room. We weren't even in a hospital. Just a very clean bedroom. I scanned the room with my eyes and looked back to him.
"Can I get an explanation now? About the fake hospital and all."
"He didn't tell you?"
"All he said was that I would wake with people surrounding me in a hospital."
"We do the hospital thing just in case whoever comes here isn't meant to be."I gave him a weird look that indicated I didn't understand. He went to explain further.
"Sometimes when Claudius gets angry he curses people to his mind, but doesn't tell them about the secret code word. So once they black out, they think that they must've fainted or something. Next thing they know, they're waking up in a hospital. Doctors are shouting that they're gonna lose them. We "stabilise" them and then ask the trick question. If the patient doesn't answer, then we know that they weren't sent here on a quest. So if they don't answer, then we... you know."
"Know what?"
"We "lose" them." I gasp as I realise what he means. My stomach twists in disgust.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have told you the details." He looks guilty for making me uncomfortable. He goes scarlet as he looks up to my face.
"If you want to get changed, your clothes are over there." He jabs a thumb over his shoulder and it's then that I realise I'm only wearing a paper thin hospital gown. I blush at my half indecent state. He leaves and closes the door behind him. I look around the room.
A desk sits in the corner with nothing on it but my clothes and a lamp. I realise there aren't any windows, the only source of light being the small strung bulb hanging from the ceiling and the desk lamp. I slowly get out of bed and stand there. I realise how crazy this situation is and shudder. I go over to the desk and pick up my clothes.
A pair of short shorts, a vintage floral shirt and some sandals. I go to put them on and then see a small door to the desk's side. I open it and find a small wardrobe. It's packed with a man's clothes and is immaculately clean.
I put on my clothes and stand looking at the wardrobe again. I browse through the clothes, looking for a jacket. I find a slick, black leather jacket and put it on. It feels like a tent. I finally go to the door and open it. A brick wall faces me.
What? Oscar just left through this door. I open and close the door several times hoping that some magic trick will happen and that the wall will disappear. I turn around to face the room and find it empty. The bed and desk gone. What the actual eff? I go to the wardrobe and open the door. All the clothes are gone. All that's left is a small sticky note that I couldn't read until I got close to it.
"Sophie's
Chocolate
Really
Elongates
Anorexic
Mice"
What does that even mean? I'm so confused. I can't take it. I turn around. I jump at the sight. In the corner stands a little girl facing the wall. She's wearing a little school dress and her hair is done in pig tails.
"Can I turn around now?"
"What?"
"Can I turn around now?" What was happening. I walked towards her and then looked back at the note.
"Sophie's
Chocolate
Really
Elongates
Anorexic
Mice"
There must be a hidden note or something. Then I saw it.
"S
C
R
E
A
M"
What does that mean? I look at it. Scream? Scream at what? The little girl that stood in the corner? I didn't know what to do. So I screamed. I just closed my eyes and Screamed.
Screamed until I couldn't breath anymore. I fell to the floor and didn't see much apart from the little girl walking towards me. Everything was blurry. The girl's face was too familiar. It was me.
