"What? What did you do to Austin?!" I was shouting now.
"Calm down missy ha-"
"Don't patronise me!"
"Sit." he said gesturing to the chair that he was sitting in a minute ago sounding surprisingly calm. I sat. I couldn't control myself, I felt like I'd lost control of my body.
"What d-" I began before he cut me off.
"Be quiet." And I was, as if he was controlling me."Now, I don't like using my... power I suppose you could call it, when it is not necessary. Alas, you don't like to cooperate, so I suppose I'll have to keep using it."
Was this guy mad?! He talked as if he was God himself.
"My name's Claudius, by the way." He said sounding as if we're friends.
"Claudius?!" I sniggered trying not to laugh at his name.
"I said SILENCE." He growled as he grabbed my shoulders.
"You're a rude pig as well..." he said as he sat on the desk to my side.
"As well?"
"As well as beautiful. Your chocolate brown waves hanging over your shoulders. Your stormy grey eyes that look like they might electrocute me. The sharp cheekbones that could cut a man if he wasn't careful."
Ew, was he swooning over me?!
"I've got a boyfriend." I muttered under my breath.
"You young people always take things the wrong way. I admire because I think your beautiful, not because I want to be in a relationship. Disgusting child." he breathed the words, staring intently into my eyes.
"What did you do?" I went back to the original question, hoping that he would actually answer me this time.
"What did I do? I took their memories of you of course. That white smoke was false memories to replace you. Emptiness. I replaced Bethany Main in his mind, with the random girl that was sitting next to him in the circus, never to see her again." he was smiling at me now. I can't believe it. I won't believe it.
"You're lying!" I shouted at him, tears threatening to spill out of my eyes, threatening to show him that I'm weak. I still couldn't move. Even if I could, I wouldn't. I was so confused. I refused to believe it.
"Never the less, there is hope. His memory of you still exists, but I own it."
"Own it?"
"Hush, I haven't finished yet. I do in fact own it, but, you can retrieve it, if you wish."
"Retrieve it? What does that even mean? How wo-"
"HUSH, how many times do I have to say it. I will make you be quiet if I have to. Yes, retrieve it. If you chose to retrieve it, I will send you into the depths of my mind, and your body on earth will cease to exist. When you go into my mind you will..." he stopped to think of the word "quest to find his memory."
"You're crazy!" I screamed not caring if someone heard.
"Do you want him to remember you?"he asked me, sounding like a parent telling off a child.
"Yes." I pleaded.
"Do you want to stay here, safe, guaranteed to live or go into my mind and find his memory, where you might die or stay in there forever until you find the memory?"I thought about it for a couple seconds.
"I'm going in."
