I woke. In the exact same room. In the same place. It was dark. Was I dead? I sat up, Oscar was sitting on the ground in the corner of the room. I could barely see anything, so I turned on the lamp. I wasn't one for subtly. His eyes fluttered open.
"Hi Mrs Irrational." he said sarcastically.
"What? How am I still alive?"
"You must've been pretty dazed, because the syringe was full of liquid nightquil." I blushed at my foolishness, and felt extremely embarrassed at what I thought would be our last kiss.
"It's ok, I know how you feel, when I first came here, I thought about committing suicide myself." He treated it like it was a thing you did everyday. I felt ashamed for letting Claudius get to me. I couldn't believe I was so caught up in being sick, that I felt like commuting suicide. My eyes glossed, and then all the tears spilled out. I sobbed and Oscar came over to comfort me.
"It's ok." Oscar cooed, stroking me hair as he pulled me into a hug. I couldn't stop the tears even though I was too tired to cry. My head thumped from a headache, I felt like I was going to vomit. Oscar grabbed the thermometer from the doctor's bag and stuck it into my mouth. He waited, looking into my red puffy eyes as he did, then the thermometer beeped. He pulled it our of my mouth and read it.
"You're getting better." He said gleefully.
"Sorry, about the kiss and all."
"That's ok, I don't call you mrs irrational for nothing." He said with a cheeky smile.
"Hey, do guys want some supper." Lili stood in the door way, "We've got hot chocolates and biscuits out here if you guys want some." She smiled as she said it and left.
"Do you want supper?" Oscar asked.
"No thanks, but feel free to go get some for yourself." I said, not wanting to keep him from his supper.
"If you don't want any, then I'll be back." He left and I rested my eyes as I waited for his company again. I felt him sit on the bed again and opened my eyes to find Lili sitting on the end of my bed.
"Oh, hi Lili."
"Are you feeling better? I heard you tried... you know."
"Oh... yeah, I was a bit caught up in being sick and was a bit overwhelmed."
"It's ok, we've all felt like that, but acting on it, that's different." She said with a smile. She was making a joke, but I wasn't in the mood. She quickly moved on from the awkward moment.
"I hope you get better." She patted my knees and left. I was so tired even though I'd already been sleeping for majority of the day and closed my eyes again. I heard someone walk in and opened my eyes again. There before me stood Molly, the lady from the hut. I blinked my eyes and she suddenly changed to Allegra. I must've been hallucinating, from the fever and all. I felt disorientated, but tried not to show it.
"Hi, how are you feeling?"
"Umm, ok."
"Well if you need anything, just ask." She left just as Jayden entered. Jayden? I blinked my eyes but he wasn't changing this time.
*Authors note*
Hi readers, this is Ed. Originally, I wrote these past two chapters "The End" and "The End...?" as a joke to fool my friends into thinking that I was ending my story already and killing off Beth. They freaked out at first, but then liked the chapter and thought it fit, so to their request, I will keep these chapters. If you have any thoughts or comments on my story, or these chapters in particular, please feel free to put them in the comments section :)
