*Third Person POV*
The strumming of a ukulele was heard across the small island, as a young boy laid on the almost sideways trunk of a palm tree. He was lazily strumming his small instrument, as the sun covered his entire body.
"Y/n!" A female voice called, "Why are you just sitting around?"
Y/n, the boy with the small guitar, opened a single eye, and looked down at the silver haired girl who was looking up at him.
He smirked, "Calm down, Riku. It's not like we're leaving any time soon."
"Yeah," She agreed, "But if the rest of us are working, you should help us. Come on."
"Alright, alright," Y/n said, "Give me a second."
He swung his legs off the tree, completely offsetting his balance. He went swing off the trunk, and fell face first into the sand in front of Riku. He heard stifled laughing, and looked up to see Riku holding her hand over her mouth.
"Shut up," He said, "I meant to do that."
Riku held out her hand and he grabbed it, hoisting himself up. He brushed himself off, and smiled.
"You've got some sand in your hair," Riku said, "Here, let me get it."
She started to run her fingers through his hair, and eventually she got all the sand out. When she did, Y/n flashed a wide smile at her, causing her to blush. She then realized how close they were, and moved back.
"Thanks Riku." He smiled.
"W-whatever," She stuttered, "Go help Sora get materials for the raft."
"Alright," He said, running off, "Bye!"
Y/n ran towards the other side of the island, running past and waving at his other friends. He eventually reach the other side of the island, swinging on trees to reach the beach. When his feet hit the ground, he turned to his left and saw two girls that were talking while one was carrying some materials for the raft.
"Sora, Kairi!"
The girls turned to him and smiled, as he walked up to them.
"Riku told me to come help you, Sora."
"O-oh, thank you Y/n," The brown haired girl said, "Can you help me carry these?"
Y/n took a few of the wooden planks she was carrying, and lifted them over his shoulder. They walked back to the where the raft was being built, and eventually they put the pieces together.
Later that night, as the sun was beginning to set, all four sat on the beach and over looked the sea.
"So, Kairi's home is out there somewhere, right?" Sora asked.
"Could be," Riku said, "We'll never know if we just stay here."
"But how far could a raft take us?" Sora asked.
"Who knows?" Riku answered, "If we have to, we'll think of something else. Right, Y/n?"
She turned to Y/n, who was staring at the horizon with a blank look. He didn't reply, just stared out into the distance.
"Uh, Y/n?" Riku said, waving her hand in his face, "You in there?"
"Oh, uh, sorry," Y/n said, shaking his head, "Sure."
"What are you thinking about Y/n?" Kairi asked.
"Not sure," Y/n replied, "Just... remembering things."
Sora looked over to her friend, "Like what?"
"That's what I'm trying to find out."
"Anyway," Kairi said, "Suppose you do get to another world, what would you do there?"
"Well," Riku replied, "I haven't thought about that yet. It's just... I've always wondered why we're here on this island. If there are any other worlds out there, why did we end up on this one? And suppose there are other worlds, then ours is just a little piece of something much greater. So we could've just as easily ended up somewhere else, right?"
"Profound." Y/n mused.
"Don't know." Sora said, laying on the tree.
"Exactly," Riku said, "That's why we need to go out there and find out."
Riku walked to the edge and looked over the water, "Just sitting here won't change a thing, it's just the same old stuff."
"You've been thinking a lot lately, haven't you?"
"Thanks to you," Riku answered, turning to Kairi, "If you hadn't come here, I probably wouldn't have thought of any of this. Thanks, Kairi."
Kairi, Sora, and Riku began to walked back across the bridge, leaving Y/n behind. He stood there and looked out at the ocean, trying to remember the strange person from many years ago. The person who had come to the island and told him that he was special in some way, but he needed training.
Back with Sora, Riku, and Kairi, Riku tossed a star shaped fruit to Sora.
"You wanted one, didn't you?" Riku teased, "To share with Y/n."
"A poupu fruit..."
"When two people share one, their destinies become intertwined," Riku said, "They'll remain a part of each other's lives, no matter what."
She began to walk away, looking back over her shoulder, "C'mon, I know you want to try it with Y/n~"
"What!? No!"
Sora turned bright red, and Riku ran away. Sora threw the fruit to her side and chased after her.
