Fishlegs gasped and held his cheeks in surprise, "is that what I think it is?!"
"Uh, it looks like a pile of dragon shed," Tuff remarked, obviously much less impressed than Fishlegs.
"Not just a pile of dragon shed, Tuff," Hiccup began to explain, pulling out what looked like Toothless's black scales, "dragon shed armor."
Iris and Hiccup grinned proudly as everyone raced over the the cart and began to pull things from it. "Oh, yeah, baby!" Snotlout shouted, holding up a monsterous nightmare suit made from Hookfangs shed scales.Ruffnut eagerly placed the zippleback helmet over her head and raced over to her dragon. "Barf, we match!" Barf gurgled in surpsrise, then the two proceeded to headbutt.
"Uh," Tuffnut lifted up one of the zippleback suits by the shoulders in confusion. He examined it's puffed out chest and began to ask, "why does mine have a place for--"
"Because it's mine, idiot," Ruff interrupted, grabbing the suit from his hands.
Iris laughed lightly as she fished Tuff's suit out of the cart and tossed it over to him. "Woah, this is awesome!" He exclaimed loudly.
"Definitely, your best surprise yet," Astrid complimented as she admired the helmet of her suit.
"Well, I couldn't have done any of this without Iris," Hiccup explained, shooting Iris a grateful smile, "she was kind enough to let me copy her tribe's design...of course, I tweaked it a bit."
Eret draped his rumblehorn armor over his shoulder and teased, "you don't say."
"And you haven't even seen the best part," Iris spoke excitedly. Using Tuffnut as an example, she had him hold his suit up against his body, the back facing everyone else. She lifted one of the arms and a long, green wing unfolded.
"Oh, my, Thor," her husband responded in awe.
"Wings, too?!" Fishlegs could barely contain his excitement as he unfolded his own wings. "You've really outdone yourself, Hiccup. I mean, this is incredible! And the attention to detail!"
With a satisfied grin, Hiccup put his hands on his hips. "Iris has agreed to give you all a few flying lessons..or, gliding lessons," Hiccup informed them. Immediately, Iris was swarmed by the enthusiastic vikings, all asking her questions about flying and when they would start. The surprise was a success.

"So, why aren't our dragons alollowed to help?" Snotlout asked for about the fifth time, trying to cover up his nervousness.
Iris stood with the other six riders on the edge of a tall sea stack. "Because this isn't about your dragons," Iris told him.
"Iris is right," Astrid put in, "if we ever get seperated from our dragons, they won't be their to help us."
"I'm not sure I like this idea," Fishlegs scratched his head in worry.
Ruffnut rolled her eyes and retorted, "you don't like anything dangerous; that's one of the many reasons we were never compatible." Iris smiled in amusement as she recalled how Fishlegs and Snotlout used to fight for Ruff's affections.
"A leap of faith from this height, with only a sheet of dragon skin between life and death, especially at my size," Fishlegs began to rant, "is suicide."
Tuffnut sighed in exasperation, "ugh, stop being such a baby." He then readied himself to jump, a determined grin on his face, "let's do this."
Iris gave them a few simple pointers, them leapt. One by one, the riders soared from the tall sea stack to a much lower one where their dragons waited for them. Once they realized that it was a safe endeavor, excitement built up, and competitions began.
"I bet I can fly straight ahead to that sea stack," Snotlout bragged.
"I don't know, there's not much wind," Iris concurred, "you'll probably glide down too far."
But Snotlout was already in the air. Just as Iris had warned, he missed the landed and went plummeting down to the ocean, shouting for Hookfang. Iris shook her head and sighed, then turned to Tuff. She nudged his side with her elbow and suggested deviously, "race you to the next sea stack?"
Tuffnut grinned back down at her, "I'm so gonna win this time." Then the two took off. For a while, they glided beside each other. They then dove toward the shortest and final sea stack. Sure enough, Tuffnut landed first. It was more of a crash landing, but he did, in fact, beat Iris. She laughed at him when her feet hit the ground. But this only earned her a kick in the leg, causing her to fall into the grass as well.
The two laughed together as the other riders glided down to them. "Well, that's all for today; go ahead and call your dragons," Iris began to wrap things up, but was interrupted by a chilling roar. Soon, the seven were surrounded by a swarm of devilish dervish dragons.

There were four of them in total, and they were certainly not happy to see the dragon riders. "No one make a move," Astrid ordered, "we just need to show them that we're friends." But the dragons showed no sign of softening and soon, they began to fire.
