A large piece of egg shell peeled from the top, revealing a tiny black and brown head. The baby looked up, squinting in the light and yawning. It stretched it's limbs out, breaking through the rest of the shell. It then proceeded to tumble out of the sand pit, landing at Iris's feet on it's back.

"It's a girl," Iris announced with a glowing grin as she stood and turned back to the group. Toothless reached his head over and grabbed the baby in his jaw gently and set her back in the sand. She nuzzled him before climbing onto Arrow's back and playing around.

"Ohhh! She's so cute!" Fishlegs squealed. Everyone took turns expressing their excitment for the new species having finally hatched.

"What are you gonna name her?" Astrid asked Iris.

Iris frowned, however, "I'm not sure Arrow will want her named."

The sand wraith lifted her head from tending to her baby and squwaked. Once she had Iris's attention, she made some clicking noises. "What's she saying?" Tuff wondered.

With a smile of amusement, Iris turned to he'd love and responded, "that she's already picked a name."

"What is it?" Hiccup asked curiously.

"Soul," she responded with a sweet smile. She couldn't take her eyes off of the night wraith. Not only was this Arrow's baby, it was proof that her own was soon to come. She ran her hand down her own stomach, feeling just the slightest bump out.

Tuffnut smiled when he saw what Iris was doing and took her other hand into his. When Iris looked up at him, there was a look of pure love and satisfaction in his eyes that made her heart melt. And his heart pounded just thinking about her, and the child she carried. He was going to be a father.

The happy moment was shortened by a chorus of screams coming from outside. Everyone raced outside suddenly to find the village under attack. Devilish dervish swarmed Berk in a furious frenzie. "What?!" Astrid spoke in awe. She then called for Stormfly and took off to help.

"Tuff, go find your sister and get out there," Iris ordered, her fierce-leader side kicking in. Before the twin could object, she raced off toward Mora's home. There, she found the family of three already in uniform and ready to go.

"Iris, what's going on?" Thorn questioned as he hurried to meet her with his wife and daughter.

"I don't know," Iris responded firmly. Looking to the sky, she squinted, "we need to drive them away." Three sand wraiths came up behind the family, teeth bared at the intruding dragons. "I need my wings," she told them, "Mora, get the others ready; I'm counting on you to lead this."

Mora looked in shock, but nodded firmly. Iris left to change. Within minutes, she was outside with Arrow while Toothless took the baby to a safer place in the woods. "Me and you, girl," Iris grinned at her sister. The dragon roared in response, then lifted Iris onto her back and took off. Once they were high enough, Iris leapt from Arrow's back and soared down to what looked to be the leader of the devilish dervish.

Landing on the massive dragon's back, Iris latched her legs around it's neck. The dragon squirmed and screeched, trying to turn around and snap at Iris. "Not today, beast," Iris growled, "you're going back where you belong." She grabbed onto it's horns and turned it's head out to sea. To her relief, the dragon began to fly away from the village, followed by the others.

Once they were a little ways out, the devilish dervish seemed to calm down and stop fighting her. Iris hopped off of the black dragon and glided down to a sea stack. But when she land and looked to make sure the devilish devrish were still leaving, Iris found them all coming her way. They flew with great speed fir such large dragons. But before they could reach her, she was knocked out of the way by another force.

Ruffnut had glided down from Barf and grabbed Iris, throwing her over her shoulder. "Don't you mess with my sister!" She yelled as the zippleback came by and they hopped on.

"Gas 'em and blast 'em," Tuff shouted with a devious grin.

Iris held onto Ruff's shoulders as green gas spilled from Barf, enveloping the entire flick of devilish dervish. Then, Belch sparked. The explosion sent the large dragons tumbling through the air away from Berk. The leader of the intruders glared in their direction and screeched, then finally retreated.

With a deep sigh, Iris loosened her grip on Ruff. "Thanks for coming when you did," she thanked.

"Not a problem," Ruffnut responded with a grin, "Tuff insisted on following you out here."

"And it's a good thing I did," Tuff added, his eyebrows raised. There was an uncharacteristically serious tone in his voice.

Turning her head to the side in curiosity, Iris asked him, "what's wrong?"

"What's wrong?" He repeated in shock, voice full of fret, "you almost just got eaten by a dragon; I mean, you could've died."
