Kiara woke imagining how the day was going to go, worried about someone recognizing her. Then again, with the help of Casey, she looked nothing like the girl she used to be. Kiara swung her legs out from under the covers and placed her feet on the chilling carpet, heading to the bathroom and stepping in the shower. When Kiara got out, she put on the black strapless crop top, ripped jeans, a leather jacket, and black-heeled combat boots that Casey and Kiara agreed on. Kiara ran a brush through her new scarlet red hair and put on mascara with berry red lipstick. She walked out of the room with only her new phone and left for her new school.

After about a 20-minute walk, Kiara arrived in front of the school. Kids were covering the courtyard, and when they noticed her, every one of them looked up to watch the unknown girl walking into the school. Guys were drooling, and the girls were glaring. Kiara ignored their glances and entered the glass doors of the school. Kiara knew if she wanted to keep her identity undiscovered, then she needed to go to school, get an education, and keep a low profile.

Kiara walked down the hall, hoping to find the front office or Casey without any trouble. She knew everyone was watching, so she put on her best confident look, putting her shoulders back and holding her head up high. After a while of wandering around, Kiara finally found the office. They handed Kiara her schedule and textbooks, giving her everything she would need. Kiara observed the piece of paper, reading over the order of her classes. Her first-period class was English in room A104, then math, history, lunch, study hall, bio, and PE. Kiara left the office and headed to find her English class.

When she found the room, there were only two people in the classroom. Kiara went to the back of the room, taking a seat next to a window. She watched as two squirrels ran around playing until she heard the sound of her name, hollered, from across the room. Kiara looked away from the window and saw Casey almost skipping towards her.

"Hey, Cass. You seem happy." Kiara states as Casey sits in the seat beside her.

"Of course I am. You actually came to school and are in my class. Let me see your schedule." Kiara handed Casey her schedule, letting her compare their schedules. Kiara turned back to watch the squirrels outside, giving Casey the time needed to review and compare. When the bell rang, people came flooding through the door, but out of the slew of people, one stood out. He was tall with black hair, dark brown eyes that stared into your soul, and was wearing a simple white T-shirt with a leather jacket and ripped jeans. When he entered, their eyes immediately locked, both entranced in wonderment. Kiara could tell he was trouble. She knew if she got involved in his world, her secret would be revealed, and she refused to let that happen, so Kiara turned away, breaking their gaze and welcoming Casey's voice.

"Scarlet, did you hear me?" She turned to look at Casey, confused.

"No, sorry. What did you say?" Scarlet asked as she caught from the corner of her eye the boy walking over to a seat with his two friends following close behind.

"I said we have three classes together. This one, math, and PE," Casey repeated, smiling and handing back Scarlet's schedule.

"That's great Cass," Scarlet responded, returning the smile. When the teacher came in, she jumped straight into the lesson with no introduction. Scarlet was relieved the teacher didn't make her say something to the class. All Scarlet wants is to go unnoticed, get an education, and keep her identity a secret.

As the class went by, Scarlet couldn't shake the feeling of eyes being on her. She skimmed the classroom, trying to see where it was coming from. Then she saw the boy starring. He made no attempt to hide that he was staring. He was trying to make her look his way, he wanted Scarlet to know he was watching her. Scarlet looked out the window, once again, trying to ignore his gaze, but knew that he was still staring. She looked over at him with a questionable look, trying to decipher why he wouldn't stop staring.
