(Aiden's POV)

There she stood. Healthy and off on her own. I watched as she came out of the grocery store and heard her conversation with Christian, but I needed to talk to her. I needed answers. When she looked up at me I noticed a flash of hurt and sadness wash through her eyes. I waited for her to say something but it seemed like she was too stunned to even say my name.

"You need to leave Aiden" she finally said, but what she said I was not expecting.

"What do you mean? I need to leave. What I need are answers!" I shouted at her.

"Listen I know you hate me for leaving you guys but a lot of shit has happened these past few months and it was for the best that I left." She stated without a hint of emotion. It was like she was trying to stay calm and keep a straight face but I know Scarlet or Kiara, I know that she is just covering up the fact that she is hurt. I know a lot must have happened for her to abandon us.

"What are you talking about? We all miss you and have been searching everywhere for you?"

"Well then stop looking for me." She stated angrily.

"No! I won't know you. You are my friend and I just want to help you."

"If you knew me you wouldn't want to help me." She started then walked away. What did she mean by that? I wondered. I watched as she walked away from me and I didn't want her to leave, so I said the first thing that came to mind that would stop her.

"I know your name isn't Scarlet Greenwood!" I shouted and as soon as those words left my mouth she froze. It took a second for her to respond but she finally did.

"And what name do you think is mine," she asked without turning towards me.

"Your real name is Kiara Stone. Right?" And she finally turned to look at me and nodded.

"There's more to my name then you might think"

"Like what? I have so many questions. Please tell me what is going on." I pleaded. I watched as she debated on what to say.

"Fine. I'll tell you when we can meet up and where tonight" she said and left. She crossed the street and disappeared. I left also hoping to get the answers to my questions.

(Scarlet's POV)

When Christian finally showed up, he asked what I was doing out all alone so close to the other side of town, the side where Aiden and my friends are. I told him that I was wanting to go on a run and got lost. Throughout the whole car ride, I thought about what had happened today with Aiden. He was different from when I first met him. He seemed confused and angry, but I could sense worry too. I told him I would contact him, but I was debating on if I actually should. So I thought about all my options and pros and cons.

1. If I contact him, then he will have my number. Of course, I could probably get a burner phone to contact him and have that as our communication.

2. If I don't contact him then he will be pissed at me and never get his answers to his questions. And if he doesn't then he will find out and all hope of us being friends again in the future is lost.

3. If I show up he will ask why I'm hanging out with Christian. That will lead me to either lying or telling him that he's my brother and that Xavier is my father. Which will lead to my new name.

4. If I show up there's a chance that he will forgive me for leaving and not telling them I was ok.

5. He could kill me because he would feel I betrayed him and that everything was a lie, which I wouldn't blame him if that happened.

6. The possibility of losing my family is at stake for going behind their back and meeting up with him. And I just got my family back. I don't want to lose them.

7. I know this isn't helping me make my decision, it's a fifty-fifty chance for everything. But I know deep down I'm going to contact him and show up and because of this, I'm going to have to choose between my family and my friends. There's no hope for having both, but it's worth a shot. Right?

When I got back to the house I went straight up to my room ignoring everyone in my path. I had to figure out a plan, a place, know exactly what he's going to ask and the answers, and a plan to leave this house without anyone knowing I left.

I stayed up in my room for the rest of the day. Several people came and asked me to come and hang out with them but I declined every time. I had more important things to take care of. Eventually, I got my plan well, most of it at least. I figured the parts I didn't get to, I would wing it. All of a sudden I heard a knock at my door. I jumped by the sound of it, but quickly composed myself and told the person it was good to come in.

"Hey, Scarlet. Are you ok?" Christian asked as he walked into my room sitting on my bed.

"Yeah, everything is fine. Why?" I asked a little bit too quickly, but luckily he didn't notice.

"You have been kinda quiet and distant since I picked you up this morning. I was just worried if something might have happened" I love that he cares and I hate that I have to lie to him. We might not seem like we get along but in reality, we are pretty close.

"Sorry Christian I have just been a little tired today, I have a lot on my mind. That's all" I told him, sending him a small reassuring smile. He nodded and stood up from my bed.

"Okay. I was just making sure. You know if you ever want to talk I'm here."

"I know. Don't worry, I'm probably just going to get some sleep tonight and I will be back to my usual angel self" I told him with a huge smirk. He laughed at me and rolled his eyes.

"Yeah sure. More like a demon self " he stated causing me to laugh too.

"Goodnight Christian"

"Goodnight Scarlet" and with that, he left my room and I could release my breath that I didn't even know I was holding. I grabbed the burner phone I took from Xavier's office and texted Aiden.

*Hello Aiden, it's Scarlet meet me at our old school near the bleachers at midnight. Come alone and don't tell anyone where you are going or who you are meeting with. I promise I will give you the answers you wish to know.*

I remember Aiden's number from when we were still friends. I figured it would come in handy one day to still remember it. Guess I was right.

*OK, Red I will be there. See you soon.*

When I read that message old memories flashed through my head and I got an excited feeling in my stomach just like before whenever he called me that.

I erased the messages and hid the phone. I put on a black top and leather pants with my usual leather jacket and combat boots. I waited for the time to come then left out the back door. I knew I couldn't walk out the front gate so I decided I would temporarily shut down the electric fence and climb over it. Once I was out I left into the woods and went to go find Aiden.
