[Scarlet's POV]
It's been a couple of days since Cassy made me leave the hospital and she has not left my side. She's been forcing Me to leave the hospital every day to shower and get more than hospital food. She's practically been force-feeding me. It's insane. I made a deal with her that I'll leave the hospital as much as she wants during the day as long as there's someone here to watch him and I can continue staying in his hospital room at night until he wakes. She agreed but has been keeping as far away from the hospital as much as she can during the day. Today, Cassy is taking me to the mall and Sebastian is coming with us, while Mark watches over Aiden. He said that he didn't feel like doing such a girly activity as going to the mall so he volunteered to stay with Aiden.
"Oohhh, this will look great on you!!" she holds up a strapless red knee-length dress that has black lace on the top. It was a beautiful dress, but I had no use for it.
"It is a beautiful dress Cass, but where would I wear a dress like that?" She smiles widely as I give her a confused look.
"I'm sure you will find an occasion to wear it," she tells me with a pointed look. I shake my head at her as I take the dress from her and place it back on the rack.
"Come on," I grab her wrist dragging her out of the store away from the dress.
"Where did Sebastian disappear to?" Cassy and I glance around the mall, searching for any sign of him.
"I think he went over there," Cassy says pointing towards the Gap.
"Well, let's go find him"
"and tease him mercifully?" Cassy asks and I nod in agreement as we start laughing and go on the hunt to find Sebastian.
We spent the entire day shopping, talking, and eating mall food. By the end of the day, Cassy and I had bought a couple of cute outfits, and Sebastian got himself a new pair of shoes. I was now at the hospital, making my way to Aiden's room to check on Mark and see if there has been any progress. I saw Christian from down the hall, standing at the receptionist's desk, talking to one of the nurses. I continued walking down the long hallway and when Christian looked up and saw me I saw a quick decline in his face. He looked troubled about something. I hadn't seen or heard from him in so long, I was starting to worry something was wrong, and his face just assured me of my suspicions. I knew that if he was here something must be wrong. Instead of going straight to Aiden's room, I decided I would talk to Christian and see how things are going. I know how I treated Xavier would eventually backfire but I was still part of his gang and I was still part of their family.
"Hey," I say to Christian as I approached him.
"Hey Scarlet," He had a contrite tone as he responded.
"What's wrong Christian?"
"What makes you think somethings wrong?"
"Well for starters when you saw me you immediately diverted eye contact with me and now you're looking at me like you have something to say, but you're afraid to say it, So spill." he looked down at his feet and sighed.
"It's our father. He's planning an attack against Aiden."
"Yeah, I suspected that was going to happen. Why you think I haven't left Aiden's side?" he looked at me like I said something that didn't make any sense.
"You're not at his side right now"
"That's because ion waCassy forced me to leave the house but Mark is in their keeping an eye on him for me" he nodded then gave me an unsure look.
"You sure about that?" I tilted my head in confusion expecting him to elaborate on his question.
"Xavier will do anything to bring you back home even if it means killing everyone you know"
"What's he going to do to Aiden, Christian?"
"He's going to cut off his air supply and It's happening tonight" I frantically look to Aiden's room. I now understood the look on Christian's face.
"You're distracting me" he looked at me with apologetic eyes.
"I'm sorry" I shove him out of my way and rush to Aiden's room. I could see through the window blinds that someone was in the room, but it wasn't Mark, the figure was too tall to be Mark. I tried to open the door it wouldn't budge. I quickly realized it was locked and called a nurse over in urgency. The figure was standing over Aidens limp body, making my heart race in panic.
"Open the damn door!" I yelled at the nurse who was now trembling as she worked to open the door. I was growing impatient with every second that the door remained locked. I couldn't stand waiting any longer and was about to yank the keys out of the nurse's hands when the door flung open.
I urgently rushed in and pulled the guy away from Aiden's bed. Punching the guy in the face and pinning him to the ground. The sound of the beeping machine was no longer heard making me turn to Aiden to see all connections to the machines were lost and the tubes and needles weren't connected to him. I was too distracted by observing Aiden that the guy I had pinned to the ground took control switching our positions. I kneed the guy and stood up as he was groaning. The guy then pushed me against one of the walls punching me in the stomach. He had a firm grip on my wrists, making me struggle to break free. The guy was about to take another swing at me when someone grabbed his hand and slammed him against the floor, hitting the guy over the head repeatedly with the heavy binder that had rested on the table. I was stunned, I thought he was a goner, I thought I failed. Yet even in his weakest state, he protects me.
