(Scarlets POV)

I stared at the burning building in front of me. Watching as it went up in flames. How could I let this happen? I wasn't quick enough. Cassy turned to me and looked completely scared and worried. Tears were about to break from both of us, but I wouldn't let them fall. I couldn't give up on them. Not yet. I pulled my phone out and dialed Aidens number in hopes to hear his voice. The longer the phone rang the more I wanted to break. The call ended and no one picked up I tried again and had the same result I tried 3 more times and he never answered. I thought I would try one more time because if he didn't pick up it would mean it was over and I was truly too late.

"Hello?" I heard coughing and I realized he had picked up, there was still hope and a smile erupted on my face. I was still scared but hearing his voice brought ease to my mind.

"Aiden? Are you alright? Please tell me you are ok," I begged through the line. It went quiet for a little bit but his voice soon came back.

"Red is that you?" I smiled at the name and nodded. I knew he couldn't see me, but It was an instinct to nod.

"yes, it's me, where are you? I'll come get you" I heard him cough again then frantically tell me to stay away.

"No, you can't help me"

"Aiden I'm right outside the warehouse just tell me where you are and I'll come get you. Cassy is with me too." I tell him and he continues coughing even harsher. Then the line goes quiet and I heard nothing but the sound of the fire. He must have passed out from the flame. He's losing oxygen. Without thinking I ran into the building. I heard Cassy yell from behind me, but I just ignored her. I needed to get to Aiden. When I got inside I saw nothing but a mix of red, grey, black and orange. The smell of smoke and ash consumed my nostrils and it burned the inside of my throat and nose. My head was feeling dizzy and the feeling of passing out was strong, but I was determined to find Aiden. This was my fault and I needed to make sure he survived this. I wandered through the flames trying not to get burned. I saw Sebastian and Mark laying on the ground and I made my way towards them. I ferociously shook them trying to wake them up. Only Mark responded, he couldn't see me clearly, I could tell by the dazed look on his face.

"Mark get up. I have to find Aiden. You need to get Sebastian out of here and quickly,"

I had a feeling there was another explosion soon to come. I helped Mark stumble to his feet, He lifted Sebastian and made his way out of the building. There was still no sign of Aiden, and I was starting to get overwhelmed by the fire. I was pushing myself to keep going but my legs collapsed from under me and I was having a hard time breathing. Coughing on the ground, with tears in my eyes, the feeling of guilt and shame washing over me. I looked up and saw a dark and blurry figure laying on the ground. I couldn't make out who it was, but in hopes of it being Aiden I moved forward, and as I approached the figure I saw his disheveled black hair and immediately knew it was Aiden. I was right, he had been consumed by the fire and passed out. I pulled his unconscious body to me and tried to wake him, but it was no use. I looked around the room and I no longer saw a way out of the building. It was collapsing all around us giving us no clear path. We were both engulfed in the fire, with no way out. My eyesight becoming even worse and more blurry. I looked down at Aiden and moved the hair away from his eyes. He was covered in dirt and ash, his clothes were half-burned and partly torn, his eyes were shut, and his breathing was slow. There was barely a heartbeat left. My body was shutting down, I could barely move. I felt myself giving up and closing down, but as I saw Aiden laying on my lap. completely vulnerable. I knew I couldn't give up now. He didn't deserve to go out like this. I slowly stood to my feet, my body wanting to collapse back down to the floor. I pushed through the aches and pain and picked Aiden up off the ground. I wrapped my arm around him and stumbled through the fire, fighting to find our way out.

As I stumbled through the scorching building, pieces of the building kept falling in front of us. I was looking around, seeing nothing but the flame. Then a faint voice appeared in the distance. I couldn't make out where it was coming from or who it was, but as I continued to founder through the inflamed building the voice gradually got louder and more clear. the voice was finally audible for me to hear. It was Cassy calling out to me, I was too exhausted to respond, but I followed the direction the voice was coming from. Soon enough a white light was seen in the distance. Hurrying towards the light, the crackling sound of the flame got bolder, signaling the second explosion was coming. We reached the door and I handed Aiden to Cassy. She offered to me her hand but I refused to take it, telling her to hurry and get Aiden out of the vicinity. When I was fully out of the building I was finally able to breathe again, but that sensation didn't last long as I was flung away from the building and pulled into the darkness.
