His blank expression, his body language, his demeanour, this was the Xavier everyone feared of, the Xavier everyone knew. I walked towards the boy with no revealed feelings, he didn't notice my presence, he was too focused on his book. He quietly chuckled to himself, he thought that no one saw him, but I did. I was not too far away from him, I continued to walk towards him, I slid into the chair across from him, and as soon as I sat down, the quiet library was no longer quiet, everyone began to murmur and whisper as they stared at Xavier and me.
"Why is she sitting next to Xavier?"
"I heard the two were now dating."
"He could do better."
Xavier finally noticed my presence. He put his book down and looked at me, he was bored already, he didn't care about what I wanted to say to him, nor did he care about anything else. He just didn't give a single damn.
"Xavier..." I said lightly, I wanted to talk to him in private but knowing that he probably didn't care what I was going to say, he was perhaps just going to stay in his spot.
"What do you want, Jones?" He asked, his eyebrows furrowed, his body slouched in the chair he rested on.
"I wanna talk to you in private," I said. Xavier sighed, his pupils dilated as he looked at me.
"Can you all just mind your own business? Goddamn, you must have no life if you are so indulged in a conversation that you can hardly hear." Xavier yelled to the many students who stared at us. They all quickly rummaged back into their books and homework.
"Mr.Smith! You don't use that tone of voice in the library. Please leave if you are going to continue disrespecting the rules of this library." Ms.Coone, the librarian said as she spotted me and Xavier. Ms.Coone was actually a nice teacher, but if you didn't follow the rules, she wouldn't be as nice anymore.
Xavier and I slid out of our chairs and walked out of the library, as I looked back, students stared at us as we walked out. Damn, they really didn't have a life.
Xavier walked me into an empty hallway before asking, "Okay, we have our privacy. What do you want?" He asked as he let go of my arm. I didn't even realize he was holding my arm, my mind was just somewhere else, swimming in a pool of endless thoughts.
"I...I'm asking you if you know anything about my Father," I said.
There. I asked. It's been two days since avoiding Xavier at school, but what happened at the party, what his Father told me, it stuck with me. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I just needed to know, what Xavier and his family know about my Father. Because we both know it's more than just a business thing.
"Aliyah-"
"I was looking for you everywhere Xavier!" A voice from behind interrupted Xavier.
Carter Matthews. Star of the basketball team, a known womanizer, comes from a wealthy family, and from what I've been told, doesn't give second chances.
Mackenzie and Rachel told me all about The Ravens, but Carter Matthews seemed to be the one who I've never noticed at Vixton High that much. He was either in the gym playing basketball or at a girl's house. From what I could infer, he probably doesn't do well in his academics, based on not seeing him often at school and the fact that he probably has so much money that he doesn't even need to go to school, in fact, he could probably even buy the school.
Carter's eyes trailed off of Xavier and his focus went onto me, he blinked a few times and laughed.
"So...your the new girl, huh? I've heard a lot about you, I'm not surprised that you're with Xavier. I mean, Xavier does get a lot of girls, but not as many girls I get." Carter winked.
"Shut up Carter, you haven't slept with a girl in months, and we both know that I'm the one getting more girls. I mean, Andria did break up with you for a reason." Xavier replied harshly.
Damn. Are these guys really trying to brag about how many girls they get? And whoever Andria is probably affected Carter a lot. I mean, he looked already baffled, he was lost in thoughts and he remained without a comeback.

Carter stood there, not knowing what comeback to use against Xavier, he knew that Xavier could always beat him. Hence the reason why he is always the special one in the group. Andria was special to Carter. And he didn't want to reveal that to a stranger, nonetheless someone like Aliyah.
"Anyways...Jackson and Alex are at the garage, we were all looking for you bro. Whatever you're doing with this promiscuous girl should-"
"Her name is Aliyah," Xavier said, his tone hostile, his eyes filled with fury. Xavier didn't like the fact that Carter was calling Aliyah promiscuous, in other words, a slut.
The past weeks that he knew her, he has learned that she is a good person. He just has to make sure he doesn't get too attached. Or maybe he already is.

I looked at Xavier, the way he said my name to Carter, was he mad? Or jealous? Whatever it was, he didn't like the fact that Carter called me promiscuous. I could've stood up for myself, tell off Carter that I am not the girl he thinks I am, I could've told him who I really am. But Carter already seems to know that, well, mainly because of Xavier and his average hostile tone.
"Well anyways, hurry up with Aliyah, and meet us up at the garage. We need you, now." Carter said, emphasizing my name; Aliyah. As Carter walked off, Xavier looked at me and sighed,
"Well, I need to go. And by the way, I'm sorry about your Dad." Xavier said before running off. As I watched Xavier run off into the distance and walk out of the school doors, all I could think about was, who really is Xavier?
