- aliyah -
His name was Axel.
His persona was dark and lonely, an individual you would find intimidating. He was strange, and rather in fact, scary.
As his green eyes studied me, he couldn't help but chuckle to himself.
"You and your Father are strikingly similar. The eyes, the hair...everything." He states, his tone laced with some sort of interest. What was he so entertained by?
"I need answers," I state as my eyes trailed off and onto my group of friends who were still indulged at me and this strange man's conversation.
"What do you want to know?" He replied, his tone still laced with amusement as he stared at me, sipping his now cold coffee.
I sighed as I took a sip of my milkshake, "How do you know my Father?" I asked. Shivers went down my spine as I asked him. His eyes trailed off and into the distance of the afternoon sky above us.
"He was my mentor...my teacher rather. I basically idolized the man, all until he tried killing my Father." He replied, his tone no longer amused, rather, angry.
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion,
"My Father was a good man, what do you mean by try killing your Dad and you?" I asked quickly,
I was getting angry, but I tried to control my anger, I didn't want to make the man run off.
And most importantly, I needed to know who my Father really was.
"Christoper Jones, he...he wasn't loyal." He states, his tone laced with hurt and distress, and as I stared into his smoky green eyes, I could tell that he was feeling lost. His eyebrows furrowed with confusion as he was deep in his own thoughts, he was hiding something.
"Axel...what's your Father's name?" I asked, snapping him back to reality. He jolted and soon stood up, taking out a $10 bill and quickly packing his things.
"I-I need to go, you've got my number, so...you better delete it." Axel shot me one last look before running out of Flamingoes and onto his black Mustang, driving off into the distance.
As I sat there alone in the empty booth of Flamingoes, I couldn't help but think to myself, what is Axel hiding?

"So that guy you were talking to earlier, he was your date?" Kenzie and Rachel said at the same time. We were currently at Rachel's house, all gathered up in the living room.
"Yeah.." I lie.
It was better for me not to tell any of my friends, I didn't want them to get involved in something that was perhaps dangerous. Plus, if I told them, they might leave me thinking that my family is filled with a bunch of psychopaths.
"Why couldn't you join us with...your date?" Xavier asks, his tone hostile and vulgar, his hazel eyes staring straight into my empty soul.
"I-I was going too! And trust me...I wanted to see Alex..." I lie as I quickly glance at Alex and back at Xavier, whom both are now glaring at me, "But...but before I could introduce you to him, he wanted to talk to me first in private but then he just stood up and left. He said he's got like homework to catch up on or something." I lie again.
I was rather quite good at lying, in fact, when someone lies, I could notice it because you can never lie to a liar itself.
However, I noticed that Xavier had this odd, mysterious kind of glare plastered on his gorgeous face, did he know I was lying? Or did he know something else?
"Well anyways, you guys wanna watch The Breakfast Club?" Alex asked as he found it on Netflix, along with a bowl of popcorn right between him and Kenzie.
We all nodded in amusement and as we began to watch the old classic movie, I couldn't help but wonder to myself,
What was Axel hiding?
