"My Mom and I, we use to be close. But ever since...my Dad's death, I guess, she's been more distant." I stated to Rachel as we both walked to my locker.
"You should try talking to her. When my parents got divorced, my Mom began to change. Whenever she was drunk, she would always tell me how I was the reason why my Dad cheated on my Mom. When she wasn't drunk, she would be really quiet or stay in her room and cry herself to sleep. It was pretty depressing. I then began to open up to her, and she began to open up to me. Now, she's moved on from my Dad and apologized for saying all those things to me. She's like my best friend now." Rachel informed me.
I opened up my locker and shrugged, "I don't know. I could try talking to her and open up, but I don't think she would do the same. She's always working, and she works all the time just to avoid seeing her own daughter, I guess. Every year when it was my birthday, she would just make me a card with money inside, leave it on the kitchen table for me to read along with a cake I would find in the kitchen. She was never there to celebrate it with me. She was always at work, or another place. I think she wants to get rid of me, I don't blame her. " I told Rachel. Her eyes were filled with pity, however, she looked over my shoulder and her eyes were no longer filled with pity, rather admiration or lust. I turned around to see no other than the group of boys who everyone is obsessed about in this damn school.
Xavier, the leader of the Ravens got pulled aside from the group. I saw him and a pretty blonde girl talking to each other in the corner of the hall. Their conversation was so loud that I overheard it.
"You didn't text me back last night. I thought we were supposed to hang out." The blonde girl said, her tone laced with nothing but disappointment.
Xavier chuckled as he ran his hand through his silky brown hair. I scoffed, he's acting like a total jerk to the poor blonde. But what did she expect? Xavier looks like a fuckboy probably acts like one too.
"Darling, that was only a one-time thing. It won't ever happen again. There is a reason why I didn't text you back; I don't give a shit about you." Xavier replied. He's an asshole.
"You're a jerk!" The blonde said as she walked away. Xavier scoffed and followed the girl.
Is he gonna beat her up? Is he gonna do something to her? I'm probably over-reacting. He seems like an asshole and he can act like one too but....he won't beat her up, would he? All she did was call him a jerk, and that doesn't sound as harsh. Also, what did Rachel and Mackenzie mean about not having to mess with The Ravens? Oh my God, he probably is beating her up.
"Are you okay? You look like your lost." Rachel said as she lightly chuckled.
I looked up at Rachel who seemed now concerned, "Huh? Oh, I'm fine. I just remembered that I... need to get to class early because I have to talk to Mr.Rain about something before about our new project, I'll see you at lunch with Mackenzie." I said quickly, Rachel looked confused but before she could reply I dashed away as fast as I could to where Xavier and the blonde girl went. I know it isn't any of my business, but if he was gonna do something bad to her....he doesn't know what I'll do to him.
I found Xavier and the blonde girl in an empty classroom casually talking, or more like yelling...I don't know. I peeked through by the classroom window. Okay, they were definitely yelling at each other.
