- aliyah -
School.
Monday.
The Ravens.
Xavier.I avoided The Ravens, specifically Xavier since that day.
Kenzie and Rachel ran up to me as I reached my locker, their perfume hitting my senses completely, it was so strong it almost made me faint. Literally.
"Aliyah! We haven't heard from you in so long! What's up?" Rachel asked as she chewed on her minty gum.
"Just homework...you know me, I'm always studying!" I nervously joke, Kenzie and Rachel both share a look of 'What the fuck is going on with her?'
"Anyways, guess what guys!" Kenzie stated excitedly, her smile bigger than my future.
"I got accepted to Harvard University!!!"
She started jumping up and down, she began doing this weird obnoxious dance she does when she's extremely happy."Oh my God, Kenzie that's so great! I'm so happy for you!" I state excitedly as I hug her.
Believe it or not, Kenzie is pretty smart when it comes to her academics.
But that just reminded me of the main reason why I'm here at Vixton High and living in Vixton Dale; because I'm representing the posh pretentious high school that oh so bothers me because of how moderate and bratty the students that attend here are.
"Look who it is...Aliyah Jones! A fucking whore who can't keep her hands to herself!"
Jessica stated as she walked towards me, her hips swaying and her hands flipping her newly dyed strawberry blonde hair.
What does this girl want?
"What do you want, Jessica?" Rachel asks, her tone vulgar.
"Look..." Jessica said to the three of us as if we were her house maids. "Ever since Aliyah came to my school, she's been stealing the thing that gains me a lot of my popularity, The Ravens. So, if you forgot I will remind you again, don't ever come near The Ravens or my life because if you do, I will fucking destroy you and your little sad life here in Vixton Dale. You don't belong here, imbecile!"
And with that, Jessica walked off and made sure that everyone heard what she said.
I scoffed, who does she think she is? Who does she think she's messing with?
"You're a fucking-"
Before I could finish my sentence I was stopped by none other than Xavier himself.
He walked in front of me and wrapped his big arms around my waist, all around just so I could feel his biceps.
He leaned into my face and whispered, "I wouldn't do that if I were you, Jones. Be careful, although it may seem that Jessica is just a stupid bimbo, she's much more powerful than you think." He said, before releasing his arms around my waist.
I was kinda disappointed not because I couldn't tell off Jessica (well that too, kinda) but mostly because I wasn't able to smell the nice scent of Xavier anymore.
"Xavier, why do you care?" I respond, my tone hostile and vulgar. I guess you could say that I was sort of mad at him. I mean, I'm glad that he opened up to me and told me the truth.
But the thing that bothered me was the fact that he didn't tell me earlier than yesterday or can I really trust Xavier? I mean, he does indeed make me feel safe and secure, but when it comes to my dead Father and his brother, Axel, I find myself questioning why I'm still friends with him.
I came to Vixton Dale for a fresh start and all I'm getting is the past.
"Aliyah, you do know that you can trust me, right?" Xavier said, his eyes filled with a little hope that I do in fact trust him.
But how can I trust him if I don't even know if I can trust myself?
__________
"Aliyah!"
Alex ran up to me with a cigarette in his mouth.
"Alex, were on school property! You'll get in trouble!" I told Alex as he exhaled the smoke.
"Aliyah don't worry, we are outside anyways, and trouble is nonexistent to Alex Angel in Vixton High!" Alex lightly chuckles as he runs his hand through his dirty blonde hair.
As Alex and I walked around the school vicinity, I can't help but feel sorry for Alex. He is such a good soul, and the pressure of being a teen Dad must be hard for him.
"So, how's Cassidy, Alex?" I ask, tryna make the conversation light and subtle.
"She's good...I think we're alright. Her parents weren't so fond of Cassidy deciding to keep the baby but it wasn't really their choice to make ya know?"
Alex said, his eyes glistened with light cascading from the sunlight and onto the two of us.
"You will be an amazing Dad, Alex." I say, a smile appearing on my face.
"Thanks Aliyah."
