"It's nice to meet you, Randall," I said as I stared at him.
I wanted to ask questions. Like, when did you two start dating? How did you meet my Mother? Do you know about my Dad? How come she never told me that she had a boyfriend? Do you guys work together?
As Randall stared at me, no words exchanged towards each other, just awkward eye contact.
"Okay, well, Randall was just about to head home for the night." My Mom stated. She reached Randall's hand and walked him out, I turned around and watched as my Mother and her new boyfriend hugged and chatted all until he entered into his black mini jeep and drove off.
I scoffed as she entered back into the house,
"Aliyah, please just be happy for me." She said, desperation and tiredness filled in her eyes. I didn't know what to tell her because, in all honesty, I was just sort of shocked. I mean, who moves on that fast? It's only been a year and she's already seeing someone new. She didn't even decide to tell me. I had to figure out by walking in on their little dinner date. And they couldn't even be a little bit more discreet about it?
I sat down in the bar stool and rested my head against the island,
"Do you still love Dad?" I ask after a little bit of hesitation. She looked at me astonished,
"Of course I do! I always will, Aliyah." She replies, she stood behind the island right across from me and buried her head into her hands, rubbing the side of her temples, she sighed,
"Aliyah, this is not easy for me, you know that. And so, sometimes I just need a break."
"But you didn't even tell me. I had to figure out myself!"
She remained silent as I waited for her to respond. She just closed her eyes and sighed some more, because that's all she ever does. She would just brush the whole situation off and pretend that none of it ever happened in the morning. Just like she did when Dad died.

"That's crazy," Rachel states as she chewed her pretzel sticks.
"But if she's happy with him then I guess it's okay," I state bitterly. Kenzie and Rachel both rested their heads on my shoulders and sighed,
"It's gonna be okay Aliyah. Just give it some time, and who knows, maybe this Randall guy is not as bad as you think." Kenzie states. giving me some glimpse of hope.
"Anyways, have you guys heard anything from the boys?" I ask as I stood up from Rachels' bed, heading towards the mini refrigerator she has in her room. The girl had like everything to soda, fruit, chicken, and even beer which is like odd because her parents buy all her stuff including the beer.
"Nope," Rachel states as she plopped on her bed, staring at her ceiling.
My phone begins to ring and as I grab it and look at the caller ID, I see that it's Jackson,
"I gotta go and take this. I'll be back." I state before heading out of Rachel's bedroom and into the hallway,
I accept the call and put the phone next to my ear,
"Aliyah, we need to talk," Jackson says on the other end of the line. He sounded sad almost and I pictured him to be the way he was when we were visiting Cassidy.
"Sure what's up?" I ask, hoping that everything was okay. I began playing with my necklace, something I do when I'm nervous.
"Meet me at the park right now, I feel like it'd be better to say in person," Jackson says. Before I could even say anything back the call ends and I sigh before heading back inside Rachel's room.

As I walked towards the park, I saw Jackson all by himself on the swings, his body was slouched as he stared at the ground. As I walked towards him his whole body language screamed depression and I was curious to what was wrong.
"Jackson, what's going on, everything okay?" I ask as I hopped on the swing. Jackson glanced up at me, his eyes filled with nothing but anger and sadness, all mixed together in one, somehow it made me feel like I was guilty of something.
"Aliyah, I think my Dad is having an affair with your Mom."
