- aliyah -

I paced my room back and forth, anxiety arose as I distinctly remembered the phone call about my Father. I bit my nails anxiously as I remembered the conversation,

"Who is this?"

"Your Father was nothing but a waste of humanity. You should be glad that he's dead, now I can finally live my life in peace."

"Who the hell are you?!"

"Don't worry Aliyah, I'm just a little reminder of all the things your Father-"

I cut him off.

I ended the phone call and that's when I got my panic attack. I rushed to call my Mom, she quickly answered and I told her what just happened. She told me to stay calm, that's there is nothing to worry about, that it was just a stupid prank. I believed her and yet here I am, still panicking.

My Father wasn't the perfect man, he had mistakes....mistakes that I myself are not aware of. However, I do know bits of pieces about my Father...aside from what looked like a happy family, we kept a lot of secrets and not just within our family, but also ourselves.

I heard a ding and my phone screen lit up, I glanced over at it and was relieved when I saw Rachel's name pop up.

"Hey, I'm gonna pick u up at 6 pm. Be ready!!"

Shit. I totally forgot about Xavier's party tonight, and to add on, I am drowning in homework.

Party or school?

Have fun and live a little, or stay at home and do schoolwork that you didn't finish at school?

I'll just go to the party. Fuck it.

I took a few pills and began to get ready.

- the party -

Rachel picked me up, I in the passenger seat, and Mackenzie in the back seat. They all looked stunning in their outfits, I wore a tight red dress and black stilettos. I applied a small amount of makeup to enhance my inner features and curled my brown/fawn coloured hair.

The phone call was still in the back of my mind, eating me alive, thoughts accumulated of who the caller could be. What did he know about my Father? What did he have against-

"Aliyah!" Mackenzie shouted in my ear, I was snapped back into reality, the heavy rain pouring outside drew me back to that vivid night.

"Sorry...I zoned out for a bit." I state, my eyes trailing off into the heavy rain hitting the car windows.

Mackenzie lightly chuckled, "Are you okay? What were you thinking anyway?" She asked, concern laced in her voice. I abruptly turned around and forced a smile to appear on my face,

"I'm okay! Don't worry about it." I say, leaving her question unanswered.

Mackenzie was the type of person to be very talkative and also very oblivious. Rachel, however, was the person who was very perceptive on things. She noticed that I avoided my question, a look of confusion and concern plastered on her face but I managed to ignore it.
