"Don't cry"
Word Count: 513
I was standing in the back of the garage, ready to watch the race from there. You were now a few laps into the race and everything seemed to be going well for Billy. He was fighting his way up through the field over just a few laps. He was just about to overtake another car... and then the worst possible happened. He hit the backend of another driver's car and Billy's car was torn apart. You can see the debris of the car spread around the track and what is left of Billy's car finally comes to a stop. You can him in the body, but he isn't moving. The marshals and medical staff ran towards his car to get him out, but they didn't show a thumbs-up, meaning he isn't alright and probably seriously hurt or maybe even dead...
Your eyes flies open. You don't know where you are, and your heart is hammering in your chest. Your chest is unsteadily going up and down, and you are almost hyperventilating. Your body is shaking and you can't quite realize that it was just a bad dream. Finally you realize you are in your bed, you look around you, your body still shaking with fear. Billy should be laying next to you, but he isn't there. Fear is running through your body again, what if it wasn't a nightmare. Where was he.
Billy walks into the bedroom, seeing you sitting up in your shared bed. He can see something is wrong so he walks towards the bed. When you look at the doorway you see him coming towards you and you instantly become more calm. He is here. He isn't gone. You are still shaking though and tears are forming behind your eyes. Billy sits down on the edge of the bed, reaching his hand to cup your cheek. He moves closer to you, and you snuggle your head into his chest. His embrace is so calming and warm. You look up at him, and he looks down at you. He can see the tears now in your beautiful eyes.
"Why are you crying? Please don't cry princess," he says. A smile curls up on your lips. He is always so worried about you, although you think it should be the other way around.
"I thought I lost you," you say, answering his question. He knows what had happened before he came into the room. He knows you had had a nightmare about his accident. It had been happening more and more recently lately as it was nearing the two year mark. He knows it's hard for you, so he just holds just tight in his arms, until you are okay.
And God, you love his tight hugs. You love being in his embrace, and when he is away you always miss him, but right now he is here with you. Here to hug and hold you. To kiss and cuddle you until you fall asleep in his arms at night. Now is the best time. The best time is with him.
