781YOU REMEMBER HIM, as the person that made you dance. When you met him, you were to shy to dance, but he made you do it. He made you cross the boundaries, you had set for yourself. He made you realise, that there is more to a person, than what first meets the eye. He made the wild-child come out in you, and ever since you met him, you'd never been the same.
You remember him, as the person, who taught you to look at the stars. The stars that filled the sky on a clear night over Brazil in the winter. The stars that made you think of him. Made you think of the freckles, that were sprawled over his nose and cheeks. The freckles that looked like stars themselves, and made you think of constellations in the sky. He taught you to look for answers in the stars, and so you did. The stars were the ones guiding you home, when you felt lost and in no hope of finding home soon.
You remember him, as nights in Paris, looking over the Eiffel Tower. Paris. The streets that would forever call your name and the streets that never felt the same again. You had been in Paris before meeting him, but after coming there with him, it changed your whole view of the city. It really was the city of love after all. And now, when you'd go there alone, the didn't feel the same either. It was a new feeling, that brought back memories of the past. Memories of a life with him. Memories of a life with love.
You remember the first time, you saw him, the both of you hiding in a crowded room. A room filled to the breaking point with people from all over the world, trying to get a glimpse of him. Because he was someone special. Someone all women wanted, and all men wanted to be. Everyone wanted to be in his position, 'cause he was the new Champion of the World. He was the one breaking and setting new records. He was the one, who wasn't like anybody had ever been, while at the same time also being just like everyone else.
Once upon a time he had it all, but somewhere down the line, he went and lost it. All of his life, he had never had anything to lose, but one day, he had everything to lose. And he did. He lost everything in a split second. He shattering every single piece of his body, of his life, in a split second. He wasn't fragile, but in that moment he felt like a glass, that had been dropped to the ground and shattered into a million different pieces. Pieces, that were once part of a puzzle, but where now impossible to piece back together as a whole.
He broke, and no one was there to fix him, when he needed it. You broke, but no one even seemed to notice. Everyone had their eyes on him, watching him rise to the sky in hope of continuing his legacy somewhere else, when he wasn't able to do it on Earth anymore.
You remember him, as beach days. Days on the beach. Days filled with endless sunshine warming up your body. Days filled with sandcastles, reminding you of your childhood, when everything was easier. When no one was demanding anything of you, and you could do whatever you wanted and liked. His carefree nature reminded you of childhood, because in reality, although he lived to the age of 34, he never really grew up. He was like Peter Pan from Neverland, flying through the night. Second star to the right and straight on till morning.
You remember him, as the deep blue ocean. Wild. Empty but filled with life. You had often talked to people that knew him, without really knowing him, and it was clear to you, that it wasn't just anyone he let down his cover for. You had to be special in order to get to see the real him. You were special. You were always special to him. One the surface, he seemed calm, relaxed without a single fear lurking in his body, but that was far from what was happening underneath the surface. There, he was wild, his true self. Filled with surprises and spontaneity.
He was the sun. The centre of the universe. He was your love. Your one true love. Your burning love.
