You were excited for the first day at your new job. Last year you had graduated university with a degree in mechanical engineering and since then you had tried getting a job. You had finally succeeded in finding the perfect job, and today was your first day. And not only had you finally founded a job, which was the job of your dreams, you also got to travel around the world, which wasn't bad. You had already been in Brackley, where you had met the other engineers and mechanics, that worked for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, but now it was time to go with the team to a grand prix, where you'd meet the drivers.

You had followed formula 1, since you were little, and you had pretty quickly realised, that you wanted a job related to formula 1. You had been to a few grand prix growing up, but this was going to be your first time in Monaco.

When you entered the garage on thursday morning, your eyes immediately caught Valtteri, who was standing beside his race engineer next to the car. Toto came over to you, when he saw you, and shook your hand. He guiding you towards Valtteri and told you to start talking to the drivers, so they could get to know you. Toto put his hand on Valtteri's shoulder and he turned towards you and Toto. He smiled at you and shook you hand. His handshake was firm, but not too firm. There was still an underlying softness to it, which was welcoming. He introduced himself, although you of course already knew his name, and you introduced yourself. You started talking a bit, and he seemed interested in what you had to say.

Before you knew it, it was time for the drivers to go in the car for FP1, and Lewis had also shown up now. You didn't get a chance to introduce yourself as he quickly jumped in the car before driving out onto the narrow street circuit. Whilst the drivers were driving, you were sat alongside the pitfall, talking to some of the other engineers and getting to know the team i bit better, so you could fit into their way of working around things. Both Valtteri and Lewis entered and exited the garage multiple time during the 90 minutes, the session lasted.

When they both came into the garage for the last time, lewis was the first to jump out of his car and go talk to his mechanics about how the car had felt, and what should be improved to maximise the car's performance. It took a bit longer for Valtteri to get out of the car, but after he had come out, he went to you. You talked a bit, before he was pulled out of the conversation by his mechanics, who wanted to know how the car had felt. You kept your eyes on him the whole time, and he would occasionally glance over at you as well, making a shy smile appear on your lips.

A weird felling started developing in your stomach as you felt like someone was watching you. You looked around and found Lewis standing from across the garage with an intense look in his eyes, directed in your direction. He was almost eating you with his eyes, but something must have come out of his trance, as he shook his head and looked the other way, as if to shake his thoughts out of his mind. When Valtteri had finished speaking with his mechanics, he returned to you. You talked for a little while longer, before he had to do some media work. The team didn't need you at the moment, so you decided to follow him. You were watching while Lewis and Valtteri did interviews and the whole time, you could feel Lewis's intense stare on you. Even when you turned your back to him.

After the second practise session was finished later in the afternoon, you were once more in the garage with nothing to do. You decided on going out to explore Monaco on your own, but as you were on your way out of the garage, you collided with Lewis. You immediately apologised, but he didn't seem to notice as he started yelling at you.

"Watch where you're going. Will you? People have zero respect for others anymore!" He said angrily and his head started turning red with anger as the blood was pumping through his veins.

"I-I'm really sorry. I didn't watch where I was going, and... I'm so so so sorry Lewis." You said with a broken voice. He left the scene and you were left there alone. Valtteri entered the garage as he had forgotten something, and he was met by you standing in the entrance with an almost scared look on your face. he had heart what had been said, and when he saw Lewis standing near his cloth covered car, he quickly tramped towards him.

"Why did you yell at her?" Valtteri asked a bit louder and angrier than he was supposed to.

"What do you mean? She crashed right into me!" Lewis said loudly.

"She didn't do it on purpose, and beside you should calm down a bit."

"Calm down?! I am calm! And what have you been doing all day talking with her. She hasn't even introduced herself to me!"

"Lewis, mate. She didn't want to disturb you, while you were talking to your mechanics, and you have been kind of distant all day." Lewis's frown softened, and it was like he realised how rude he must have seemed all day.

"I'm sorry. She is just so pretty and seems so nice. It was bothering me, that she was speaking with you so much..." Lewis stated.

"Don't apologise to me. Apologise to her. And seriously, you were jealous?" Valtteri asked, and Lewis nodded. Valtteri padded him on the back, before he left the garage. On his way out he gave you a wink, and cocked his head in Lewis's direction.

Silence filled the garage as Lewis was slowly walking towards you with a hand behind his neck.

"I'm sorry I flipped out before. I guess I was a bit mad." He said with a silent voice.

"It's okay. What were you mad about?"

"Uhmm... I... It's just that you have been spending all your time today with Valtteri, and I really wanted to speak with you as well."

"Wait a second. Are you jealous that I was talking to Valtteri?" You raised one of your brows and looked at him, curiously waiting for an answer.

"I guess I was. You're just so pretty and the way your eyes lit up while talking to Val..." He paused for a second and looked up from the ground and into your eyes. "Please forgive me."

"I forgive you..." His face lit up at your words. "If you take me out for dinner tonight." He seemed impressed by your straightforwardness, and to be honest, you were quite impressed yourself at your level of sass.
