Football season was over meaning practice had just begone. Coach Clayton and his son chuck had already transferred over to Baxter so their really wasn't a coach or as they thought.  The lost Toni and the guys took was saddening at the least but it was over a month ago now. Most of the guys were over it but not Toni.

James,Betty,veronica,Jughead, and Toni sat in study hall talking.

"Do you remember that time you lost the state game tonikins?" Veronica says and Toni glares at her and veronica starts to laugh.

"Sorry sorry last time. " veronica says Jughead sat uncomfortably next to Betty who was doodling rainbows in her notebook.

"Spring formal who's going?" James changes the topic looking at Jughead quickly.

"Definitely me. Juggie is taking me. " Betty giggles  James and veronica roll their eyes.  Veronica and Betty in their vixen uniforms as per usual.

"I am? Oh right yeah I am." Jughead mumbles earning furrowed eyebrows from Toni. Jughead were a blue flannel over a black t shirt. He had light warn out jeans with holes in the knees. His signature look finished with his beanie.

"I'm gonna ask Cheryl but I want to be over the top." Toni says her mood changing to a slightly happier one. Toni wore her letterman jacket and a black crop top underneath. She had on fitted jeans and warn out converses. Her hair left down and wavy. 

"How do you plan to do such?" James says today he was wearing a black and white striped long sleeved shirt with red skinny jeans and black dress shoes. His outfits always were fashionable.

"Singing or something like that. " veronica snorts eating some of her chocolate covered peanuts.

"No! PSH...okay maybe I was planning to sing." Toni says rolling her eyes.

"Called it." Veronica says and Betty nods

"She did." Betty says pointing her pen at veronica.

"Ooo let me help. " PJ says clapping excitedly sitting up on his knees "I love romance and goofy cute stuff. " James says grabbing at his heart with a blush on his cheeks.

"I'll let you help. Only because I don't know exactly how I want to do it. After football practice?" Toni sets the time.

"Sounds good to me." He says sitting back down crossing his legs.

Jughead smirks at the boy before diverting his eyes but not before Veronica caught a glimpse of that. She couldn't believe that? Jughead Jones was gay! Or bi? Undecided.

"How do I look?" Archie ask fixing his hair with his hands. Toni giggles before fixing his jacket and stepping back. The boy had a dozen of roses and a goofy smile on his face.

"You look great ginger now go get her tiger." Toni says nodding behind her at Josie who was talking to Jason and Valerie.

Archie walks up to them Toni staying a distant behind. "Josie McCoy will you do me the honor and accompany me to the spring formal? " Archie ask handing her the roses. Josie smiles looking at the roses.

"Depends you taking me to dinner afterwards?" Josie laughs and Archie grabs her by her back pulling the small girl into him. He leans down just above he lips. "Sounds like a date." Archie says before kissing the smaller girl lightly.

Jason frowns before a goofy smile comes to his own face.

He looks at Valerie and puts his arm above her locker. She crosses her arms and glares at him.

"Hey val val?! You should totally go to the dan-" he begins but she cuts him off.

"No way I'm on a jock free diet." Valerie Sasses

"Come on let this Asian american rock your world ." Jason says with a wink. She then taps his face playfully.

"Sweety I had Asian and let me tell you I only like it on rice." She then walks away.

"What? I'm confused." He says chasing after her.

James was at his locker when he turned around seeing Jughead kiss Betty on the cheek. He bites his lip shutting his locker to walk away. He was hurt. He thought Jughead was into him but apparently not. He still liked Jughead he was different then his usual taste. Jughead was well..Jughead.

James continues to walk to class passing the two quickly avoiding eye contact. If Jughead could have another date to prom so could he right?

"I'm sorry Bette but I just can't go with you to spring formal. I like this other gu- girl and its not that your not awesome which you are. But I just can't. I'm sorry." Jughead says Betty looks down sadly tears forming in her eyes.

"You know you can't come back to me after this? I'm not going to let you." Betty says and Jughead frowns. He leans down and kisses her cheek.

"I'm sorry." He says before walking away.

"PJ sanders. Just the guy I was looking for. " Kevin says walking up to James in line. PJ smiles simply before looking at Kevin.

"Yes?" Was all the shorter boy could say.

"So since your single and I'm single, maybe you could take me to the dance?" PJ frowns but hides it with a smirk. He looks back at Jughead who was hugging Betty he grips his tray harder.

"Sounds great pick me up at  8 Friday. " James says before walking off.

"Jug are we still friends? Because I do love you." Betty says and Jughead gives the blonde a small smile.

"Of course ditzy " Jughead says before better pulls him in for a hug.

Toni and the guys bundled up on the field. The new coach was suppose to be there any second. Toni stood with Archie Reggie and Jason while the guys talked about random stuff.

They get interrupted by someone walking onto the field. A man with ray bands and a simple Nike workout t shirt walks up the team. Everyone gets quiet.

He wore basketball shorts and a Nike t shirt. His black hair was combed up and his pale skin was radiant. He was muscular and in shape. He had a small beard growing and his eyebrows perfectly waxed. His arms were muscular along with the rest of him.

"I'm coach Lee. Riverdale highs new football coach."
