Chapter 8
John's POV

We stepped into the bar and I noticed Alexander clench a fist. Grabbed his wrist and his breathing seemed to calm. We navigated through the drunken crowd taking seats right next to each other.
"This is Angelica and Peggy, my sisters" Eliza smiled. "And this is my girlfriend, Maria!" She put an arm around Maria and pecked her cheek. I wish I had something like that.
"Pardon, me?" Alex spoke up. "Are you Aaron Burr, sir?" Burr smiled.
"That depends," he smirked. "Whose asking?" He was already a little tipsy.
"O, sure, sir." Alex stuttered. "I'm Alexander Hamilton." He smiled weakly. Next to introduce themselves was an asshole by the name of Charles Lee.
"Hey shit-head new kid. Welcome to my realm. You do what I say now, bastard." Charles boasted. I heard Alexander's breath hitch.
"Don't listen to him. He just acts like that because he can't handle the fact the he got kicked out of Washington's class for refusal of orders." I explained, earning a chuckles from Alexander. We had a few drinks and stayed by Alexander at all times. Oh no. You're drunk. You idiot you have no filter when you're drunk.
"Hey John?" Alexander's voice pierced my thoughts. He sounded worried.
   "Yeah?"
"How many fingers?" Alex asked, his hand popped up into view.
"Uhhhhhh..." I stalled trying to think of a brilliant answer. "All of them?" I tried. I read the look on Alexander's face, he wanted an excuse to leave.
"Yeah you're drunk. Ok, hey guys I'm gonna head back to the dorms...hey where's Laf?" Alexander had started pushing me toward the doors.
"SOMEWHERE!" A very dazed Eliza piped up. Alex shook his head and dragged me out. He shoved me into the front seat.
"I'm sorry, this is gonna look weird." He gushed. He started rifling through my pockets, looking for my keys. He retrieved them and ran around to the driver's side. He jumped in and turned the ignition. He relaxed a little and breathed deeply for a moment before putting the car in drive. I drifted off to sleep as we left the parking lot.
