Chapter 23
John's POV

   We pulled into the parking lot and I shut off the engine. I pulled the keys out of the ignition and moved in my seat to face Alex. We was fiddling with something in his lap.
   "I can call it off." Alex quickly stuffed whatever he was playing with in his pocket.
   "And what kind of person would that make you." He smirked. Can I marry him. We jumped out of the car just as Laf and Herc pulled up.
   "Hey, mon ami, if you get wrecked we aren't patching you up for the 50th time." Laf laughed. Alex laughed and I looked at him with this fake betrayed look, making him laugh harder.
   "We better go." I laughed. We made our way into the park through the park and into some woods off the park.
    "Has this happened before." Alex asked, a look of concern plastered across his face. I nodded grimly. "Oh." He looked down and kicked a rock a little ways ahead of us. I felt bad, I shouldn't have let him be my second. I just hoped nothing bad would happen and Alex had to watch.
   "Hey little bitch. I thought you weren't gonna show up." Lee boasted as we stepped into the clearing. Alex stepped back and moved behind me. "We're doin' this right, where's your second?" I huffed and stepped to the side revealing Alex. I glanced at Alex, he had put on a brave look. Trying so hard to be tough. He can't be worried about me. Can he?
    "Are we doing this or not." Charles had picked Aaron to be his second. Alex and Aaron met in the middle of the clearing. There was a brief heated exchange between the 2 men. Alex turned around and his face fell. He walked past me and gave a grave nod. Charles and I met in the middle 4 feet apart. Alex and Aaron took there places between us each facing there own first. Alex gave me a sad, worried look and started the count down.
   "10...9...8...7...6...5..." Alex and Aaron removed themselves from between us and stood behind their firsts. "4..." Alex continued, his voice shaking ever so slightly. "3...2..." Charles sneered. "1!"
   Charles launches himself at me, diving and grasping at my shirt. I quickly side stepped and swiftly punched him in the gut. He groaned in pain and threw himself at me once more. This time he managed to grab my shirt, we tumbled to the ground. He pinned me down and proceed to punch me over and over. Shit, Alex, please look away. In no time my face was bloody and battered. I heard stifled sobs coming from near by, Alex. Damn it! This motivated me, I used everything I had to throw Charles off me. I jumped on top of him and started going ham. Punch after punch, I threw punch after punch. With one final blow to the nose, I heard a faint crack. Charles screamed in pain, I felt a pair of arms drag me off of him. Aaron rushed to Charles' side, he hauled him up and pulled him from the clearing.
