The Right Signs

(Deaf Diana x Akko because I said so. Also in this one Diana is a useless lesbian towards Akko because Useless Lesbian™ Diana is best Diana XD)

(Akko POV)

That stupid Diana gets whatever she wants. I huff, glancing at the blue team behind me.

The bell rings as I rush to pick my things up and leave.

"Hey!" I exclaim as someone shoves past me.

I look up as my belongings fall to the ground to see none other than Diana had shoved me.

I waited a moment, expecting her to apologize, but she just walked away!

I pick my stuff up, rushing past Diana and knocking her to the ground.

"Oops." I say sarcastically, shrugging as I walk away.

"Akko, that was a bit rude." Lotte says, placing a hand in my shoulder as we walk to class.

"So? She shoved me first without apologizing! That's like, the golden rule! I can push her back if I want." I pout, crossing my arms.

"It's not like She would've heard you anyway." Sucy says with a shrug.

"What?" I ask.

"She's deaf, you moron." Sucy says, flicking my nose.

"You didn't know?" Lotte asks, her eyes widening a bit. "I thought everyone did."

"Well obviously not!" I groaned, suddenly feeling bad for treating her like that.

"Lotte. Teach me." I say, shaking her shoulders.

"Teach you what?" Lotte asks, pushing me off of her.

"Sign language!" I say, as if it wasn't obvious.

"Okay..?" she agrees slowly, "But why?"

"Because she's in love with Diana." Sucy snickers.

"N-No I don't!" I yell, my cheeks warming up.

"Suuuure." Sucy rolled her eyes with a smirk.

"Shut up." I mumble, though I couldn't deny that maybe I did.

(Diana POV)

"Are you okay, Diana?" I see Hanna ask me as I watch her lips.

I nod as I stand, brushing my skirt off.

"I'm fine." I assure her as I pick my books up.

Akko is such a b**ch. Barb signs angrily.

"Girls, it's fine. I'm okay, really." I say again as I head towards the library once again.

I'm startled from my reading as I feel a hand tap my shoulder roughly.

Hi Diana. I turn around to see Akko sign to me.

"Hello Akko." I say, setting my book down, "Since when have you known sign language?"

Lotte. She signed simply.

I nod my head as she fidgets a bit.

Can I sit here? She signs, pointing to the chair next to me.

"O-Oh, of course!" I brush some hair behind my ear, biting my lip as she sits beside me.

I'm sorry. She signs, looking down.

"What?" I ask, unable to think of why such a perfect bean would be sorry ever in her precious life. (I got so triggered just writing that out XD)

For earlier. In the hall. She bites her lip as she looks at me with a nervous face.

I smile softly at her apology, turning in my chair to face her better.

"It's alright." I assure her, placing a hand to her shoulder.

She tenses and widens her eyes, pursing her lips as she fumbles her hands in her lap.

"You're really pretty." I watch her say, immediately covering her mouth with a hand as her face reddens.

"Pardon?" I ask, wondering if I saw that correctly.

Nothing! She signs quickly, squeezing her eyes shut tightly and vigorously shaking her head.

She looks back at me and our eyes connect, my heart rate speeding up.

She lets out a shaky breath and leans closer to me as I hear my heart thrum wildly in my ears.

I lean in as well as our lips brush together.

I place a hand on her thigh, the other going up to tangle in her hair.

She snakes her arms around my waist and pulls our chests together in our seats.

We continue to kiss until I begin feeling lightheaded, realising I had been holding my breath the entire time.

We pull away, both panting lightly as I notice she had been holding her breath as well.

"I..." Her mouth moves and she licks her lips.

She turns her head away, holding her hands out as she thinks of what to say/sign.

I like you. She signs, still not looking at me.

I feel my cheeks burn even worse at the sight of her getting all flustered.

I gently grab her chin in my hand, guiding her to look at me again.

I use my thumb, parting her lips slightly as I lean in for another kiss.

I gently slip my tongue into her mouth, feeling her press against mine as her hands grip the front of my uniform.

I move my hand from her chin to wrap around her neck and press closer to her.

I feel butterflies flurry around within me, my heart racing even faster as I hope she can't hear it.

She eventually pulls away, panting for air as her eyes pierce into me.

"I like you too." I tell her as she continues to catch her breath.

She tenses, a smile forming on her face.

"Good." She relaxes a bit, scratching her neck.

Will you go out with me? She asks quickly.

"Yeah!- I mean- Yes, I would love to." I stutter out, trying my best to not shout though I couldn't tell if I did or not.

Okay! See you around, Diana. She signs, standing to leave.

"B-Bye!" I call as she walks away.
