(Ahhhhh another Hamanda bc this ship is too precious)

(Amanda POV)

Let me be clear when I say I hate having to go to these fancy parties.

Just because I'm related to Irish parliment does not mean I should be forced to go to dumb balls or galas.

But of course my mother is making me go to the Cavendish Ball this year.

I also do not like the Cavendishes.

This is gonna be a long night... I think with a sigh as I finish styling my hair.

I've always hated dresses, so I'm wearing a suit instead. I look pretty darn handsome in it, too.

~~~
"O'Neill." Diana greets me with a nod and curtsey.
"Cavendish." I reply in the same professional tone, kissing her hand as I bow.
I hear footsteps approahing from behind Diana, assuming it's Barbara and Hanna stuck to her side like always.
I glance at them, my heart instantly dropping to my stomach and my stomach tightening with butterflies.
Hanna was absolutely stunning. I'd never seen her look like that before.
She wore a purple dress that hugged her figure tightly and cut off just above her knees, showing off her toned fair skinned legs.
"Well... I'll be seeing you." Diana said, excusing herself as her minions followed closely behind.
I watched Hanna's hips sway in a daze as she walked away.
What... just happened? I ask myself once I'm able to think again.
Did Hanna actually look... hot?! I can feel the blush on my face already.
(Hanna POV)
"She's still greeting some people. I think she's over there." Barb says as we search for Diana.
I look over to see her chatting with Amanda.
Amanda in a suit.
She looked so... elegant. The exact opposite of the rowdy Amanda I was used to seeing.
She looked like a total gentleman, her stunning eyes matching her green tie perfectly.
Once we reach them Amanda kind of just stares at me.
Oh my gosh... She's staring... Do I have something on my face? Oh god it's my hair isn't it? I start to panic inside, wishing Diana would hurry up so I could find a rock to crawl under forever.
Diana tells Amanda goodbye and we turn to leave as I feel her eyes burning through me.
Just as my heartbeat returns to normal the music starts up, signaling it's time for us young elite to mingle on the dance floor.
"M-May I-" I whip around as Amanda clears her throat, "May I have this dance?" she asks, stretching a hand out towards me while rubbing the back of her neck.
I swallow the lump forming in my throat as I slowly take her hand.
She begins to lead me into the dance, snaking an arm around my waist which causes me to let out an involuntary shiver.
She pulls me close as I hold my breath.
She's even prettier up close... I think as my arm somehow finds its way to her shoulder.
She intertwines the fingers on our other hands as we fall into step with everyone else.
She smiles at me as my stomach starts doing somersaults.
I weakly smile back, looking deep into those stunning eyes she has.
Suddenly, I feel myself leaning closer to her, making the space between us grow thinner and thinner.
She does the same until our faces are almost touching.
Her lips press gently into mine as we stop dancing, just savoring this moment.
I kiss her back as I wrap both y arms loosely around her neck.
Her other arm goes around my waist as well, pulling me into her as my eyes flutter closed.
We slowly pull back as the music fades, looking into each other's eyes.
I take a step back as I come to my senses once again.
"I, um, thanks for the dance." I mumble, looking to the floor with a small smile.
"Y-Yeah, anytime." she says, stepping away as well.
I take one last glance to see she's looking off to the side, her cheeks about as red as mine must be.
"I'll um... see you at school!" she says,  waving as she walks away.
"D-Definately!" I squeak out as she disappears for the night.
