The next day I got dressed in jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt. I had my hair in a pony-tail, as usual, and put on my running shoes. I put my notebook in a backpack, as well as my pencils. I also packed my wallet, keys, and phone. I walked out my front door and locked it behind me. I then paused as my cell phone started ringing. I rolled my eyes and looked seeing my editor calling. I pressed the answer call button and placed my cell near my ear. "You've reached your manga artist who is super fucking pissed at you right now, don't call again" I said, as she sighed. "Will you grow up, this could be good for you" she said, as I continued walking towards the street. "Right" I said sarcastically. "Seriously Rei, this whole thing could put your manga on the map, could make it into an anime and even a TV series" she said, as I narrowed my eyes. "Funny how I wasn't even included into this decision of my life" I said, as she growled. "STOP IT" she shouted, as I growled back and pressed the end call button hanging up on her. I then looked and noticed I was on the street. I sighed walking over to the apartment complex and pressed the intercom button. I waited five minutes, but no answer. 'Guess he's not home' I thought, as I stopped when my phone rang for a text message. I sighed and looked at it. 'Don't you dare leave his place until he has at least met you, he's a late night person. From the person in charge of your future.' I growled while showing my teeth. I hate that my fucking editor can read my mind. I sighed putting my phone away and pressed the intercom again. "Yeah?" said a voice half asleep. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. "Mr. Hatake, it's me: Rei Atsuna, from yesterday" I said, as I waited a few moments. "Oh... right... Room 1514.... level 5 on the elevator" he said, as I heard a buzzing sound from the door allowing me inside. I pulled the handle and walked in. I closed the door behind me and looked around the lobby. It was very high class considering he lived in an apartment. I walked over to the elevator and pressed the number five. I waited and then walked out. I slowly walked towards room 1514 and knocked. "It's open" said a voice, as I sighed and turned the knob. I walked in and stopped hearing running water. "Great, he doesn't even have the courtesy to get ready before hand" I said "That's because I had to wait to let you in" said a voice, as I jumped and turned my head. I then blushed ten shades of read seeing him in nothing but a towel. I then coughed and turned my head. "You should have been ready before I got here" I said, as he chuckled and walked up to me. I walked a few steps back and he smiled. "Your right, I apologize for making a lady wait" he whispered, as I turned my head away from him. "Anyway, I will get ready if you want to have a seat" he said closing the door behind me, as I nodded and sat down on the black leather couch. I took out my notebook and glanced at everything around. "Your actually very tidy for a late riser" I shouted noticing he was walking down the hallway. "I have to be, my roommate is very picky about it" he said, as I paused. Roommate huh? I then looked seeing him in a dark blue blouse and black jeans. He walked over towards me and sat at the other end of the couch. "So what exactly did you want to know?" he asked, as I sighed and closed my eyes. What I want to know? I didn't want to know anything, I wanted to go home and forget this day even happened. However, if my editor found out she would have my head. I then looked at my notepad and then looked up at him. "What made you decide on romance?" I asked, as he paused and looked at me a little shocked. "W-what?" I asked, as he then shook his head and smiled at me. "No, nothing, I just didn't expect that kind of question" he said, as I raised an eyebrow. "Why because I'm a manga artist?" I asked, as he smirked. "Because usually all woman want romance" he said, as I stopped and looked at him. "You decided to write about romance because all women love romance?" I asked, as he nodded his head. I didn't know if what he was saying was true or not, but I wrote down his answer in my notepad anyway. "Have you've always known you wanted to be a writer?" I asked, as he chuckled while closing his eyes. Again, causing me to raise an eyebrow towards him. "What?" I asked, as he glanced at me. "I thought you were suppose to ask me stuff about my work to inspire you" he said, as I growled and glared at him. "The deal was to help me get inspired about my work, and I will do it as I see fit" I said, as he chuckled again. Why was he so amused about what I said? It wasn't that funny? Nor was it that amusing. "Alright, no I didn't know. I first thought of being a teacher, but fate had writing in store for me" he said, as I nodded writing his answer down. "And you?" he asked, as I stopped and looked up at him smirking at me. "And me what?" I asked, as he chuckled the third time. "Did you always know you wanted to be a manga artist?" he asked, as I narrowed my eyes at him. "I'm not here to be questioned" I said, as I paused and noticed him inching closer. "True, but maybe you could inspire my work" he said, as I sighed. I highly doubted it, but if it would get me out of here faster... sure. "I've known since high school" I said, as he paused looking surprised that I gave up the answer so easily. He then smiled and I closed my eyes. "How... how do you know what you want to write... how does this romance stuff come so easily towards you?" I asked, as he smiled and cupped my face. I blushed and saw a wildness in his eyes. "Well there's all kinds of things: your own fantasy, other people's experience, and your own experience" he whispered inching closer. That last thing gave a warning in my head and I slapped his face with my notepad. He looked at me shocked and I stood up. "We're done" I said, as he looked at me leaving his apartment. I slammed the door behind me and took the stair case down.
After five flight of stairs, I ran out to the streets and made my way to Deer Cafe. I sat in my booth and gloomed my head for what seemed like hours. "Rei" said Yoshino, as I shook my head not moving. I paused when she placed a coffee jelly in front of me on the table and sat at the other side of the booth. I glanced up at her and she smiled warmly towards me. "Want to talk about it?" she asked, as I shook my head no. "Well I'm here if you need me" she said, as I sighed and slumped into my booth. I was totally humiliated. The famous romantic novelist wanted nothing more than to test me and see if I was in his league about the romance subject. I knew it was too good to be true. I then paused when a shadow came over me. I then growled and saw Tara. "Thought I'd find you here" she said, as I turned my head away from her. "Tomorrow at the bus stop at eight a.m. don't be late" she said gulping down my coffee jelly again. "TARA YOU OWE FOR YESTERDAY TOO" shouted Yoshino, as Tara whined and paid Yoshino at the front desk. I sighed and swirled my finger on the table. This was all getting out of hand and I didn't know what else to do. "Rei" said another voice, as I looked up seeing Haku. "HAKU" I cried getting up and hugging him. "Easy Rei" he said patting my head. Haku is one of closest friends, but he has also been busy so I don't see him much. We sat down and I told him everything that happened at Kakashi's apartment. He then chuckled and I sighed. "What's so funny?" I asked, as he leaned closer and smirked at me. "Rei, he has a crush on you" said Haku, as my eyes widened. "Your crazy" I said, as Yoshino appeared on Haku's left side. "It's true, sounds like he is a really big admirer of you and not just because of your drawing skills" she said, as I blushed and shrunk more into my booth. "And I just did the stupidest thing on the fucking planet" I mumbled, as Haku giggled. "Well you could always apologize tomorrow" said Haku, as I gloomed. "I can't, I have this stupid work thing tomorrow" I whined, as Haku smiled and rested his head on his hand. "You could always do it after" he said, as I narrowed my eyes. "How was I suppose to know he felt that way?" I asked, as Haku sighed. "Rei your relationships have never lasted long and even when they did they were with guys who would rather fuck themselves then actually look at you in that way" said Haku, as I growled. "Gee, way to put my whole love life in perspective" I said, as Haku sighed. "Your not a child and if anything this could really help in your own manga experience as well, draw a new story" said Haku, as I lowered my head on the table. "I hate this" I mumbled, as Haku smiled sadly. "That's life" he said, as I growled.
