I wasn't expecting a door to suddenly appear in the wall, I certainly wasn't expecting this 'safe house' to be located here, but I was most surprised to see more humans.
More like me
"Honey, I'm home!" joked Sam as he walked in with me right behind him.
"Ay my boy came back alive!" greeted the boy lying on the couch. He was wearing clothes similar to mine and looked two or three years older than me.
"Yeah, I had a few close calls but look who I found!"
The teen looked at Sam, and then looked at me. His eyes widened.
"How did you.."
"I found him in an underground bunker. I saved him just before the machines could kill him" explained Sam.
"This is great Sam! We have to tell the others right away!" He jumped off the couch and sprinted through the other door, quickly motioning for us to follow him.
"Guys! Sam found another one!" exclaimed the teen as he burst in to the other room.
"Really? Where is he? Or is it a she?" asked one of them.
"Right here!" he said excitedly, bringing me in front of him.
All eyes laid on me. I could feel the concentration of five pairs of eyes on me. A few moments of unnerving silence passed. I heard the others murmuring and whispering with an occasional 'wow'.
Finally, Sam broke the silence. "Well?" he asked. "It's amazing right?"
"Definitely! What's his name?" asked the boy in front of me.
"My name's Nico" I said confidently. "What's yours?
"I'm Carl" answered the boy in front of me.
"My name's Michael, call me Mike though" said the boy next to Carl. "The one to my left is Jonathan and next to him is James."
"And my name's Alex" the teen standing next to me greeted.
This was amazing, six others! I wasn't alone after all! Maybe they could answer some of the questions I had.
"It's nice to meet you all" I said.
"The same goes" spoke Mike, "Take a seat Nico, there's a lot we have to talk about."

"So" began Michael, "How did you survive on your own for so long?"
"Huh?" I asked, slightly confused at his statement.
"Come on, don't tell me you survived the machines for thirteen freaking years" spoke Michael in a slightly agitated tone.
"Thirteen years? Look, I don't know how long this 'war' has been going on, but I only just woke up in some sort of a capsule.."
"I'm going to stop you right there Nico, what do you mean by 'capsule'? How did you evade the machines for so long?"
I felt like I was being interrogated, sure Michael had the right to ask questions but this was not the best way to get answers.
"I told you, I just woke up in a capsule in an underground bunker today." I said, silently pleading for him to stop pressing me for answers I didn't have.
"Come on Mike, cut Nico some slack. He's probably scared of all this and you are not helping in any way" said Alex.
"Thank you Alex" I thought. I hated being the centre of attention, and I hated not knowing the answers.
