Waking up

Approximately 13 years later....

I awoke in a dark place. I couldn't see anything, I couldn't smell anything. The only sense of mine which have me a positive answer was my sense of touch. I could feel a strange liquid around my lower and upper body. The only part of my body which was not submerged was my head.

This was seriously confusing, why couldn't I see anything? Why was I submerged almost fully underwater? And most importantly, where am I?

I stretched my arms out, instantly drawing them back in pain. They stung really badly, I was pretty sure muscles were supposed to work properly.

Wait, how do I know what muscles are? Even better, how do I know the English language so well? Hold up, English? My head was filled with questions and at the moment I had no answers to them.

"I need to find a way out here" I thought to myself. "Well, my first plan didn't go so well, i have to try something less painful and more effective."

Unfortunately I couldn't, there was no other thing I could do. I sighed, defeated and reached out in hope of touching something. My arms stung once more, but this time it wasn't so painful. Unlike before, where my arms were screaming from the pain, my arms were now very close to screaming from pain. Definitely an improvement.

Ignoring the unbearable pain I was feeling, I moved forward and touched something. It felt like..glass.

Glass? Does that mean I am in some sort of a glass container...or a capsule? Whatever it was, I was about to find out.

I punched at the glass with all my strength. Of course, nothing happened. I was too weak, but I had to try or I'd be stuck forever.

"You can do this Nico" I assured myself. I punched again and again and again. I punched for god knows how long until my knuckles started bleeding.

The pain was intense, not as intense as the pain I felt before but It definitely was a close second. It hurt so much, my eyes watered and I did the only thing I could think off. I submerged my hands in the mysterious liquid.

Immediately I realized what a horrible mistake I had made and jerked my hands out of the liquid. I felt my knuckles and to my surprise, they were completely dry. But the real surprise was that my knuckles had stopped bleeding.

"Great, so now I find out this liquid heals injuries, what next?" I wondered.

With renewed strength, I struck at the glass. I struck once, I struck twice, and at last, the glass cracked. It was small, but it was progress nonetheless.

"Ok, just a few more punches and i'll be out, keep going Nico" I told myself bringing my arm in position for another strike.

This time, I put all my energy in to it, my fist made contact with the glass and for a split second I thought this wouldn't work. But to my great joy the crack grew bigger and bigger until no part of the glass was left uncracked. I could hear the liquid spilling out through the cracks.

With my last remaining strength, I banged my whole body against the wall of glass. The glass shattered and rained down on to the floor like rain. I fell to the ground, accidentally cutting myself against the hundreds of tiny glass shards.

"Ah!" I gasped, feeling the tiny glass pieces pierce my skin. I knew I was bleeding, but I didn't care. I just had to get out.

With a little difficulty, I pulled myself up and dragged myself away from the glass. After a few metres I collapsed from exhaustion.
