Training

I woke up in the middle of the night with a gasp. Tears were streaming from my eyes. I knew I had a nightmare, but it was fading quick. I remembered bits and pieces, but even those were going. There was darkness, blood, groaning, ghosts... I didn't know what to make of it. My breathing slowed and I lay down cautiously, fearing the possibility of more nightmares.
I sighed, looking up at the ceiling. What was I even doing here? This room. This house. This world. I thought I would be with Bianca forever, thought she'd never go. But she left me, then she left life. What was left?  I didn't even know who I was a child of. Who was I?
I tossed and turned until dawn, dreading the events that might take place in the morning.
The door opened and there stood Slenderman, as tall and faceless as ever. I sat up and looked up at him. He bent down and faced me.
Hello Nico, are you well slept?
I looked down and shook my head. Slenderman sighed.
Well that's a shame, but weather you slept or not, your training begins after breakfast.
I nodded, understanding that life went on weather you're ready or not.
I got out of bed and looked outside while Slenderman left. Snow was still on the ground. What day is it? How long has It been since I ran away? Time was all a blur.
I walked downstairs and heard yelling from the dining room. I peeked into the large room and sure enough, there were the creepypasta. I felt my stomach growl and I walked in without being noticed.
BEN was throwing eggs at LJ, Jeff was pushing EJ, Sally was pretending to be a princess, the Masky was talking to Hoodie, LJ was threatening BEN, EJ was acting bored and annoyed, and Toby was stuffing his face with waffles.
I found an empty seat next to Sally and grabbed an apple. I took a bite of the apple and quietly listened to everyone's conversations, curious to how they spend their mornings.
I found out they had no filter between their mind and mouth, also that they had very... interesting vocabulary. Words Bianca would most certainly never allow me to say. I found out they don't have an inside voice, I guess I'd have to get used to that. It seemed like they hated each other, but they were laughing, I'm not sure how that works though. How could you threaten to kill someone, them laugh and call them buddy? I, for one, stayed quiet the whole time.
Soon, Jeff, BEN, and LJ went upstairs to play video games. EJ followed them to watch. Sally went outside to play tag with Toby. Masky and Hoodie went off to 'Do what they do best' I had a feeling it wasn't playing games or anything like that, I thought it had to do with killing...
I stood up and looked at Slenderman.
Go wait outside, I'll meet you out to begin your training.
I walked out to be met with biting cold air. I shivered, wishing I had brought a coat. After a minute or two, Slenderman came outside and directed me to a clearing behind the mansion, by a lake.
Ok Nico, I want you to do exactly what I say. Got it?
   I hesitated, then nodded.
Good. Now, do you have any weapons?
   I shook my head.
Well, we'll deal with that in the near future. As of now, are you tired.
I didn't know what he was getting at, but I nodded.
As I may have said before, you have lots of potential and power yet to be discovered, I am going to help you break through to some today, or at least come closer to finding it.
I understood. Therefore nodded again.
Close your eyes.
I complied.
Good, now focus on your energy.
The static I hadn't noticed I had been hearing, lessened somewhat. I took a deep breath and focused on how much energy I had in me. I didn't feel anything, no rush of power, or sense of accomplishment, nothing. I concentrated even harder, tightening my fists, clenching my jaw.
Energy. Energy. Energy. Ener... what was the point? I wasn't doing anything! I can't focus. Energy. Energy. Nothing's happening!
I stiffened, trying to concentrate. My eyes clenched. I wasn't doing anything.
I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my shoulder. I yelled and jumped in panic and fear. Darkness consumed me for a second, then went away, leaving me panting in the snow. I looked at Slenderman and was horrified to see many tentacle like appendages coming out of his back. My heart quickened.
Interesting. Slenderman commented, wiping fresh blood off one of his tentacles.
"Y-you di-did tha-at?" I gasped, frightened for my life.
I wanted to see if you just needed a push in the right direction in order to access your abilities. It seems I was correct in my theory.
I touched my bleeding shoulder. This was what he called 'A push in the right direction'? What even happened?!
You felt the need to protect yourself, so your powers acted accordingly.
I didn't respond.
That has proven enough for today. You may go rest or do your activities like the others. For you must be tired.
Now that I thought about it, I was feeling more fatigued then I had felt earlier. I remembered a drain on strength when the darkness surrounded me.
I nodded and stood up shakily. Whatever Slenderman had in store fir me, I knew it wasn't going to be pretty.
