"Forget it!" Arjun snapped as he buttoned his shirt. Arohi gave a loud sigh. "It's just for a week Arjun." she said. "No, there's no need for you to go for a week Arohi, there are plenty of people to help Rashi in Chandigarh." he replied, looking back at her as he slipped on his watch. "Rashi is one of my oldest and closest friends Arjun, and this is a special time in her life." Arohi argued. "She needs me." she added. Arjun turned fully to stare at her and then with a frown replied "I need you too." Arohi's face broke out into a smile as she walked to him and lifted a hand to his face, caressing it softly. "I know you do, and I promise you the time will fly." "Besides I figure I'll just be away from you for 4 days because you need to arrive by Thursday for the wedding festivities." she said sweetly. Arjun wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her to him. "When do you leave?" he finally asked. "Saturday, so we still have the whole week together." she said with a bright smile as she fiddled with a button on his shirt. "How are you going to make it up to me?" he asked. "Make what up to you?" she questioned. "Well you're abandoning me so I want to know what you're going to do to make it up to me?" he asked with a smirk. Arohi stared at him for a moment and then quickly tried pulling away, only to be pulled closer. "Answer me Arohi?" he said in a husky voice, as he leaned down and kissed her throat. Arohi closed her eyes as his lips trailed up to her earlobe and gave a gentle tug. "What was the question again?" she asked hoarsely, hearing his soft chuckle her eyes snapped wide open. Clearing her throat she said briskly. "Let go Arjun, I have so much to do this morning." "And aren't you getting late for work?" she asked. Arjun raised a brow and said "Not until I get my answer." Arohi sighed. "Alright what would you like?" "Do you want me to make you a nice dinner?" she asked. Arjun shook his head no, his eyes darkening. Arjun swallowed, she knew all too well what that look meant and what it did to her insides. "Do you want me to do some errands for you?" she asked lamely. Arjun raised a brow to that question but still shook his head. "There's something I was teased with at the cottage. something I didn't get to fully enjoy." he said in a husky voice. Arohi frowned and looked at him questioningly. "What didn't you get to enjoy?" she asked. " I didn't get to enjoy you in a tub full of bubbles." he said in a low voice as he grabbed a loose strand of her hair and rubbed it between his forefinger and thumb. Arohi paused and then felt her face turning beet red. "I swear I was so damn jealous of that sponge, touching you so intimately. Arjun added. "Arjun!" Arohi squeaked, struggling to get out of his embrace. "I want you in a tub full of bubbles tonight." he repeated, leaning down and giving her a kiss so hot it sent a shiver of anticipation down her spine. Pulling away he looked at her..."why do I start things I can't finish?" he asked, shaking his head. Giving her a quick peck on her nose he let Arohi go. "I'm going down to breakfast." Arohi said hurrying away before Arjun could grab her again. Arjun laughed seeing his wife practically run out of the room. She was so cute when she was being shy and tonight he would would take great pleasure in making her wild.
"Rudra, could you pass the butter please?" Arjun's mom asked softly. Arohi watched in shock as Arjun's dad passed the butter and Arjun's mom thanked him. What the hell happened here?! Arohi thought finally closing her mouth. It was a Christmas miracle she thought in fascination. Glancing at Arjun she noticed him also watching his parents with a frown. But his face didn't exhibit shock, it was more like caution and something else a little more volatile. All through breakfast Arjun's parents had been meticulously civil with each other. It was amazing to see them for once not yelling at each other, or making snide comments. "I'm leaving for Chandigarh at the end of the week." Arohi announced, looking at both parents. "For Rashi's wedding festivities?" Arjun's mom asked. Arohi nodded as she took a sip of her coffee. "I think we'll all come with you too." she said looking at Rudra she asked "What do you think?" Before Arjun's dad could answer Arjun angrily cut in "What the hell is happening here?" His parents looked at him with surprise. "We're having breakfast son." his dad answered. Arjun raised a brow and gave his father a look. "What the hell is happening between you two?' "What's this game you two are playing?" he asked. "No game, you told us on the first day that if we weren't civil to each other then we would have to leave." "So now we're being civil." "I thought that would make you happy." his dad answered. "Since when did my happiness come into play in yours and moms lives?" Arjun asked coldly. Arohi bit her lip nervously. This was getting out of control. "Mom, dad I think it would be great if you came back to Chandigarh with me." Arohi cut in, sneaking a glance at Arjun she saw him angrily pick up his newspaper and shove it infront of his face. Arohi turned to a his mom who looked a little pale. "Rashi has given me the dates of the festivities." "Arjun, you'll arrive on Thursday right?" she reminded him. Arjun pulled down his newspaper. "I don't know, I'm going to have to see what's happening at the office first." "I've already taken too much time off." he snapped. Arohi stared at him and then nodded, turning back to her coffee. Taking a few sips she forced herself to paste a smile on her face. "I've got some errands to do." "I'll see everyone later." she said. Arjun watched her walk away and felt like a total jerk. What the hell was wrong with him? Why had he taken his anger at his parents out on Arohi?
Arohi wiped a tear from her face and sternly told herself to stop it! They weren't at the cottage anymore and Arjun's work was very important to him. He was right he had been away for so long, he couldn't keep taking time off like that, she told herself. "Arohi" she heard from behind her. Arohi quickly wiped away the last of her tears and then turning around gave Arjun an overly bright smile. "I'm getting so late." "I'll see you tonight." she said, trying to hurry past him. Arjun caught her hand as she went by, pulling her back to him. Arohi stubbornly stared at a button on his shirt. Deliberately not looking at his face. "I'm sorry." she heard him say. The words making her eyes snap to his. "I took my frustrations with my parents out on you." "I shouldn't have done that." Arohi stared at Arjun with her mouth open. Arjun not only apologizing, but admitting he was wrong, and talking about his issues with his parents. Someone pinch her! "I just, I just don't believe anything that comes out of their mouth." "And this playacting they're doing, it's pathetic." he said bitterly. "They don't give a damn about anyone other then themselves, so this little drama about being civil to each other because of me..I don't buy it one bit!" he snapped, his back rigid, his face hard. Arohi stared at the look in his eyes, filled with bitterness, but she knew behind that bitterness was a whole lot of pain and hurt. Leaning forward she wrapped her arms around his chest and hugged him tight. "It's okay." she said quietly. Arjun wrapped his own arms around her and pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "I will make sure I am at Rashi's wedding." "I don't know if i can make it to the other stuff but I'll be there in time for the wedding." he promised. Arohi nodded against his chest. "That's good enough for me." she said pressing closer. When they finally did pull away Arjun said "I know it's going to be a late night tonight at the office." "But I promise to make it home in time for the bubbles." It took Arohi a moment to figure out what he was talking about but when she did she blushed and swatted at him at the same time. Pushing him to the door she called "Goodbye Arjun!" A grinning Arjun walked out the door.
Arjun paused from the plans he was looking over and a small smile spread over his face. He'd just had a flashback of Arohi at the cottage bossing him around in the kithcen. Leaning back in his chair, his smile only got bigger as he pictured Arohi driving him crazy surrounded by a tub full of bubbles. He couldn't wait to get home and get her back into those bubbles. Her smile, her laugh, her twinkling eyes, her softness, her kindness, her wildness...they were all things he had found himself thinking about today. Shaking his head at himself with disgust he forced his attention back to the plans. He was acting like some lovestruck teenager! Hearing his phone ring he grabbed it and smiled when he saw who was calling. "Hi" he answered with a smile in his voice. "Hi, I'm not bothering you am I?" she asked. "No, you definitely are not." he replied. "I was actually just thinking about you." he admitted. "Really!" Arohi asked happily. "I've been thinking about you all day!" Arohi exclaimed. "I got so used to it being just you and I, and having you always so close by." "I guess it'll take a few days to get back to normal." she replied. "In a few days you'll be gone to Chandigarh and too preoccupied by wedding activities to miss your husband." Arjun teased. "You're so right, soon you'll be a distant memory." she replied trying not to giggle. Arjun scowled as he leaned forward in his chair. "A distant memory huh?" "I won't let you forget me that easily Arohi Singhania." "I've obviously not left a lasting impression on you." "By the time you leave for Chandigarh I'm going to make sure to leave an imprint that will have you thinking of me every minute of every day." Arjun promised in soft husky voice. Arohi felt a shiver of desire run through her as she pressed a hand against her stomach where the fluttering was going wild. "Arohi?" Arjun called in that same husky voice. "Should I come home now?" he asked, seducing her with just his voice. Arohi cleared her throat and said "Yeah, the day I see Arjun Singhania come home early from work to spend time with his wife." Arjun laughed, and Arohi was caught on the fact that lately she'd heard him laugh more, seen him smile more. It was because he was happy and she knew now that he was happy because of her. "I can be persuaded very easily to come home to spend some quality time with my wife." he teased. "You say the word and I'll leave now." he added. "Are you trying to seduce your wife Mr. Singhania?" Arohi asked softly. "Depends, are you being seduced Mrs. Singhania?" he replied, in that same low husky voice that was driving her crazy. "I should go." she heard herself mumble as she quickly hung up. Arjun chuckled as he turned off his phone. Glancing at his watch he saw that it was 4:30. He could spend a few more hours at work, but why would he do that when he had his gorgeous and incredibly sexy wife waiting for him at home. He made his way out of his office, stopping at his surprised assistant's desk. "I'm going home for the day, if anyone needs me have them call my phone." he said to her. Lily, Arjun's assistant nodded mutely. Sir was leaving early, after taking a vacation?! Lily thought to herself in shock. Marriage apparently could bring miracles. As Arjun walked to the elevator he saw Jai approaching. "Where are you off too?" Jai asked, an amused smile on his face. "Home." Arjun replied, raising a brow and daring Jai to make a remark. As the elevator doors opened, to Arjun's dismay, Jai stepped on too. "Are you leaving too?" Arjun asked. "No, some of us don't have the luxury to leave at 4:30." "Some of us have to work until 7, 8, sometimes 9." Jai said in sad voice. Arjun rolled his eyes. "You should have been an actor, you're wasting your talent in the development business." Arjun replied. Jai smiled, "Going home to Arohi?" he asked casually. "Yup." Arjun replied, going through his text messages. "I know we're friends but I atleast expected a thank you for my brilliant plan to bring you and your wife together." Jai said with a smirk. Arjun frowned and turned to his friend. A shrewed look on his face. "Oh really!" he said mockingly. "You're plan was i?!" "I don't think so, you were just the puppet, it was your wife's brilliant plan!" "Wouldn't she like to know you were taking credit for it." Arjun said, shaking his head at Jai. "And wouldn't Lara like to know you thought her plan was brilliant." Jai said with a smug smile. The elevator doors opened and Jai stepped out. "You can let her know how brilliant you thought her plan was when you and Arohi come to the New Year's Eve Dinner Party we're having." Jai called as the door's shut between them. Arjun shook his head at his friend, but couldn't help but smile. Lara's plan was pretty brilliant, he thought to himself.
Arohi shook her head at herself when a half hour later she was still effected by her conversation with Arjun. He could make her feel so much by barely doing anything. Just a subtle touch, or in this case just his voice and she was melting. Turning off the TV in the family room she made her way back up to her room. Arjun would probably not be home for a few hours, and she was feeling a little melancholy suddenly. She could have made plans to do soemthing with her friends, or even gone for a walk with her mother in law. But she hadn't felt like doing anything. As she opened the door to hers and Arjun's bedroom she came to a stop. Her mouth dropping open and then a smile lighting up her face, as she saw Arjun standing by the closet, shrugging off a button up shirt. "Arjun, you're home?" she said happily, as she made her way to him. Arjun pulled her against him, smoothing a strand of hair off her face and pressing his lips against hers. Kissing her softly but quickly deepening it as Arohi clung to him. Arohi's hands drifted over Arjun's bare back as she felt his lips on her throat against her throbbing pulse. And then slowly she felt Arjun pulling away, placing her a few week from him. "I'm taking you to dinner." he said, his breathing ragged and his eyes hot with desire for her. "I can not touch you anymore right now or else we won't be going anywhere but to that bed." he added. Arohi, nodded, fighting to get her breathing under control. "Where are we going?" she asked. "Do you want to check out Lumiere?" he asked as he reached for something in his closet. She saw his hand shake a little as he grabbed his belt, on the outside he looked like he was back in control but she knew better. She knew he wanted her. "Sounds good." she replied. "I'll take a quick shower and then we can head out." he said, heading into the bathroom. Arohi smiled after him. And then she made a quick decision. She heard the shower go on, and before she lost her nerve, she unzipped her dress and let it fall to the ground. Her bra and panties following close behind as she opened the bathroom door and stepped in. Arjun was shaking his head at himself. What was wrong with him. He didn't want Arohi to think all he wanted was to make love to her. Even though lately that was all he had on his mind. But he wanted to just spend time with her too. He might not be much of a conversationalist, but he loved to hear her stories, and see the expressions on her face change as she described various things. He loved to see her face lighten up when he took her some where new. And there were so many places he wanted to show her. So many things he wanted to do with her. But as usual the first thing that came to mind when he touched her was to make love to her. As he berated himself for the very first time in his life unsure of his actions, the shower door opened. And his sexy wife stepped inside. Arjun was at a loss for words. His hot gaze drifted over her and he could see her cheeks were pink, he guessed from shyness. "I missed you." she said softly, looking him the eye. Arjun groaned and pulled her against him. "I missed you too baby." he said as he kissed her. His kiss hot and demanding, his hands moving over her body driving Arohi wild. She moved her hands to his hair and whimpered as Arjun's mouth traced over her shoulders and up to her earlobe. Every inch of her body alive and wanting Arjun's caress. "You make me so crazy Arohi." "I never seem to get enough of you." she heard him say, against her throat. Dinner plans were quickly forgotten as Arjun and Arohi lost themselves in each other. Arjun taking Arohi to the brink of madness before he made love to her so sweetly and tenderly. Every single time with Arjun felt like the first time, because the way he touched and loved her made her feel like nothing could be better then this. But he always proved her wrong with the next time he made love to her.
"I am so hungry I could eat a...a ..pig!" Arohi exclaimed hours later as they sat at Lumiere for their very late dinner. "Well we did work up quite an appetite." he teased, making Arohi blush. "I don't know what got into you but what ever it is, I love it!" he teased, making her face turn even more pink. "Are we seriously discussing this here?" she asked. "Why not, I'm curious." "You always said it was me with the one track mind, but I was exhibiting serious self control today." "The same can not be said about my wife." he teased her. "Arjun!" she admonished. "Be quiet." she hissed, as the waiter approached to take their order. The second he left, Arjun started up with his teasing. "Now where were we," he began. "Can we discuss this at home." she begged. "No," Arjun replied, "I want to know, do you want me as much as I want you." He knew the answer but he wanted to hear Arohi admit it. Arohi took a sip of her wine and blushed. "I think the events of the cottage trip should have answered that question for you." she replied with a small smile. A small smile lingered on Arjun's lips as he picked up her hand, his thumb against her wedding ring. "Do you have any regrets Arohi?" he asked suddenly. Arohi's eyes flew to his in surprise. "I have no regrets." "Everything we went through in our relationship was meant to happen." "We needed to take that journey to get to this place in our lives." she replied. Arjun nodded. "But what about marriage." "You were in some ways forced into this marriage." he began hesitantly. "I love you Arjun, I love you like I have never loved anyone before you, and will never love anyone after you." "Ofcourse, I was hesitant at first because we didn't know each other. but now I thank god for the way things played out." "We've never really discussed my feeling for Vicky." she began, feeling Ajrun's hand stiffen. "I loved him." she began noting the scowl on Arjun's face. "But I was never in love with him." she continued. "You are the only man I've ever been in love with." "Vicky and I were best friends, we'd know each other for so long, we hadn't met any one else, so I think we just convinced ourselves that friendship could be love." "We would never have been happy if we had gotten married because we weren't right for each other." "The best thing he could have done is broken off the wedding, I just wish he'd done in a more tactful way and told me instead of running away and leaving my life in upheaval." Arohi said a little sadly. "But then my Arjun was there to step in and save the day." she added with a bright smile. Arjun stared at her and finally said "I came off as a jerk at the time." "My primary concern was my brother, and a part of me blamed you at the time." "But it didn't take me long Arohi to figure out that it was Vicky who had made the mistake and even though I want the best for my brother you were meant to be mine." "I'm not one to get caught up with emotion but I know without a shadow of a doubt that you're only supposed to be mine." "Just like you're supposed to be mine?" Arohi questioned. Arjun smiled. "You've ruined me for anyone else so now you're stuck with me." "Ruined you?!" Arohi asked. "Yes ruined, after being with you there is no one else that could ever do, no one else that would ever be able to step in your shoes." "No one else could be you." he added. Arohi openly gawked at Arjun. "What's wrong with you?" she asked, reaching out and putting her hand against his forehead. Arjun smiled as he caught her hand and pressed a kiss against her palm. "This does not sound like you, you don't talk like that." she exclaimed hesitatingly. Arjun took a drink of his scotch and nodded. "I think it's all the hot s*x we've been having." "It's gone to my head, soon you'll hear me spurting poetry." he said with a teasing smile. "I don't like that word." she snapped with a small pout. "What word?" Arjun asked. "S*x." Arohi replied quietly. "We don't have s*x, we make love." she said softly but firmly Arjun caught her wrist and pulled, forcing her face closer. "Sometimes s*x is better then making love." he replied, his eyes getting dark. "No" Arohi said shaking her head. "S*x can never be better then making love, because s*x is physical but love involves emotion too." "When you touch me I feel loved." she said softly not meeting his gaze. Arjun stared at her, he should say the words now he told himself. He'd already said so much, because he felt she needed to know what he felt. How much he did care. But still something held him back. Some part of him still wasn't ready to move forward with those words. The appearance of the waiter changed the suddenly charged atmosphere as Arohi saw her food and smiled happily. "I never thought I'd enjoy salad so much." she said smiling. The conversation went back to a normal flow. Arjun and Arohi both avoiding talking about anything serious. Instead they talked about Arjun's work, Arohi's plans to return back to school and Rashi's impending marriage. In between, Arjun teased Arohi, loving the way she blushed. As they walked outside after the meal, and waited for the valet to bring their car around, Arjun pulled Arohi into his arms. Pulling her cold hands underneath his light jacket until they rested against his chest. "Cold?" he asked, pressing a kiss against her forehead. Arohi nodded feeling a shiver run down her spine. But the shiver wasn't from the cold air, it was from having Arjun so close, feeling the steady beat of his heart under her hands.
Arjun glanced at Arohi from the corner of his eye as he drove. "You okay?" he asked as he noticed a faraway look in her eyes. "Yeah, I was just thinking about seeing my dad." "I've missed him" she said softly. "Well just a few more days and you'll get to see him and you're still going to invite him to come and stay with us for a while aren't you?" Arjun asked. "We'll see, before your dad was going to be here too but now with everyone returning back to Chandigarh and you and I at work, my dad might be bored here by himself." Arohi replied. "My parents won't be able to stay in Chandigarh together for long, I'm sure one or the other will come back with us." he replied, in a clearly irritated voice. "I think it's nice having family around, the house doesn't feel so big." she said with a smile. "It's only nice when they visit, not when they move in which is basically what's happened with my parents." Arjun replied with scowl. "You really have a hard time being around them don't you?" she asked. Arjun paused and then said slowly "They have a hard time being around me too." Arohi turned to look at his face which was suddenly as hard as granite. "You're their son, and they love you." she began. "Oh really, they sure have a great way of showing that love." he said sarcastically. "The only person my parent's have ever truly loved is themselves." "Not each other, but only themselves." "And Vicky and I...forget about that." "But it didn't matter to me, I came to terms with it a long time ago, and even though I tried to protect Vicky from it, I know I wasn't always successful." Arjun replied gruffly. Arohi watched Arjun with a mixture of love and sadness. She didn't know how to get past this wall he had built. When he set his mind against something it was almost impossible to change his stance on it. Taking his hand in hers she gave it a little squeeze. "Let's not talk about this anymore." "Let's concentrate on happy things." she said with a smile. Arjun's face softened and as he glanced at her, he gave her a small smile. "Just talk about yourself and I'll be happy." he said. "No, I won't talk about me, I'll talk about us." she said, and proceeded to tell him about all the plans she had for them in the coming months. "And I want to go New York." she said listing off her long list of travel destinations. "Where ever you want." "What ever you want." he promised, as they pulled into their driveway and he turned to look at her. Arohi sighed as he pressed a soft kiss against her lips. As they entered their bedroom Arohi yawned and Arjun chuckled. "I've been keeping you up the last few nights haven't I?" Arohi blushed, knowing exactly what he was talking about. "Okay, I'll take a rain check on the bubbles then." he said. "You can make it up to me in the morning." he added with a wicked smile. "Hey, I already made it up to you, remember the shower." she asked, taking several steps back as he stalked towards her. "What shower, I can't remember any shower." he said, kissing and nipping at her throat.. Arohi trembled as his lips moved up to hers. Giving her a hard and hungry kiss. "I thought you were going to let me sleep tonight." she asked, as he suddenly started to unzip her dress. "I changed my mind" he replied...Actually you changed my mind for me." he added nibbling on her ear making Arohi gasp and start to pull at his polo shirt. Pulling it off he went back to kissing her senseless. "When did I make you change your mind." Arohi argued barely coherent now as his hands moved over her body. "When you mentioned the shower." he replied hoarsely as he pulled her on to the bed and followed her down. After that, sleep was the furthest thing from either one of their minds!
