"Oh my gosh Rashi I love it!" Arohi exclaimed as Rashi showed her and Shefali her wedding lengha. "It is nice isn't it." Rashi replied as she smiled lovingly at her outfit. "I can't believe both you and Arohi are going to be married before me!" "I have a feeling I'm going to be alone for the rest of my life, maybe even become a cat lady!" Shefali said frowning. "You will not become a cat lady!" Rashi replied, rolling her eyes. "Infact Raj's cousin Romit is arriving tomorrow for the wedding, I want you to meet him." "The way Raj describes him, he seems like a really good guy." Rashi added. Shefali perked up hearing about a potential prospect.. Suddenly this wedding just got interesting she thought to herself. "Speaking of husbands, when is yours arriving?" Rashi asked Arohi. "He's been so busy with work he probably won't arrive until the night before the wedding." Arohi replied hesitantly. She'd only been back in Chandigarh for 3 days. How was she going to get through another 3 without him she thought with a frown. "Oh my gosh, look at your face you look like you're going to cry." Rashi said with a smile. "No, no why would I cry." Arohi replied, quickly busying herself with fixing Rashi's chooria. Feeling Rashi come up behind her, Arohi turned. "I'm really happy that you're so happy and in love." she said. Then tears did prick Arohi's eyes as she hugged her friend. Even though Rashi had been in Chandigarh her and Arohi spoke all the time over the phone and Rashi had offered huge moral support when Arohi was struggling with hers and Arjun's relationship. Pulling away, Arohi quickly wiped away her tears, and gave Rashi a big smile. "Shefali and I need to go practice for our dance so we'll see you in a bit." "Let us know if you need anything okay?" Arohi added as she grabbed Shefali's hand to pull her out of the room. "I don't know why you're making me dance with you too?!" Shefali said shaking her head. "You know I have two left feet." she added. "You're going to be fine." Arohi said distracedly, as she tried to hunt out her beeping phone from her purse.
"Hi." she finally said a little breathlessly. "Hi." Arjun replied. Motioning for Shefali to go ahead of her, Arohi followed slowly behind. "What are you doing?" Arjun asked. 'Nothing, just about to leave Rashi's and go practice for Friday night's sangeet." Arohi replied. "How are you?" she asked softly. "Your mutt has been driving me crazy, I think he's looking for you." "The house is eerily quiet when I get home." "I've stopped eating dinner at the table because I find myself glancing at your empty seat over and over again... and don't even get me started on the damn bed!" "I can't sleep in my own damn bed because it smells like you and it looks just so bloody empty." "So all in all I'm miserable." he replied. Arohi gave a teary eyed smile. She'd become a weepy emotional fool. "We're so pathetic, I mean I've only been gone for 3 days and I miss you so much." "I miss your roar early in the morning when Sweetoo has destroyed something of yours." "I miss having a one sided conversation with you at the breakfast table as you read your newspaper and I blab on and on about my day." "I miss walking into our room and seeing you there... I miss being in your arms." she said softly. "What about what happens in those arms?" "Do you miss that too?" he asked in a husky voice. "Maybe..." she replied quietly, making Arjun chuckle. "How are plans going for the wedding?" he asked, changing the subject because he didn't like Arohi sad even if it was from missing him. "Wonderful!" Arohi began as she started to tell him in detail about everything that has been done." "So tomorrow night is the mendhi and the following night is the sangeet and then it's the wedding?" "Do you think you'll be here in time for the Mendhi party?" Arohi asked hopefully. Arjun looked at the stack of files on his desk. "I don't think so, it is looking more and more like I might just be arriving the morning of the wedding." he replied. Arohi paused and then said quietly "Okay, that's fine." "I should get to my dance practice, Shefali's waiting." she added, as she quickly said bye and hung up. Arjun stared at the phone a little confused at Arohi's sudden change in behaviour. She knew he was working on a big project he told himself. She knew how important his work was to him. Trying to get back to work he found his thoughts shifting back to her over and over again. He was acting like a bestowed idiot he told himself, shaking his head in disgust. He missed her, but he had responsibilities too, responsiblites that he couldn't just push to the side because he missed Arohi. He'd see her soon enough, he told himself as he forced his attention back to his work.
