"Throw the ball!"  I'm open" Arjun yelled catching it as the football came sailing towards him.  Arjun took off towards the end zone, feeling the other teams player bearing down on him.  At the last minute he pushed himself harder and manged to make the winning touchdown for his team.  "YEAH ARJUN!" he heard from the bleachers.  Arjun glanced back at his wife cheering and screaming as if he'd just won the Super Bowl rather then just a local team game.  "Look at that Arjun, quite the cheerleaders you have there." a guy from the other team said with a smirk.  Arjun ignored him but casually glanced again at Arohi who was still cheering but now also had Zara in her arms.  The two of them making such a striking picture it took his breath away.  "I wish I had someone so hot cheering me on." said the same guy.  Arjun stopped, his body suddenly rigid as he turned to the guy.  His face hard as granite he said menacingly.  "That's my wife you're talking about!"  Seeing Arjun's murderous expression the guy instantly started bumbling apologies.  "Arjun...relax." Jai said quickly stepping in and turning Arjun around.  "Don't tell me to relax." Arjun snapped as he started stalking to the where his duffel bag lay.  Various team mates passed him and slapped him on the back for winning the game.  "The guys an ass." Jai said falling into step with Arjun. "Why are Lara and Arohi here?" Arjun asked abruptly as he grabbed his water bottle.  "Zara wanted to see her dad and chachu playing football." was Jai's cheeky answer.  Arjun glared at him.  "That's funny cause every time I glanced in their direction Zara was asleep in Arohi's arms."  Arjun replied.  Jai gave a sheepish smile and then said "But she was awake for the game winning touchdown."  Arjun shook his head.  He hadn't missed all the attempts as of later from Lara and Jai to bring Arohi and him together.  Lara and Arohi had been showing up at the office randomly, and just  last week he'd been trapped in the elevator with Arohi for over an hour which was incredibly suspicious since there were no problems with the elevator and magically after an hour it started working again.  Ofcourse in that one hour he'd had to practically put himself and his body on lock down from not reacting to Arohi.  Arohi, who was hell bent on driving him crazy with her smiles and her sweet scent and her closeness.  Listening to her soft voice as she asked him various things to pass time had been no small feat either.  He was on high alert every time she'd moved, every time she'd taken a breath, hell every time she'd even looked at him.  5 more minutes and he knew he would have probably made love to her against the damn elevator wall.  Suffice it to say once the doors opened he'd practically run out of the elevator giving Jai, who wore a guilty expression on his face a murderous look as he passed  hiim.  "What ever you and Lara are doing, you need to stop it."  "Arohi and I can work on our damn relationship." Arjun snapped as he grabbed his things and turned to see Arohi and Lara walking towards him.  "Great game guys." Lara said with a big smile.   Arjun's gaze shifted to Arohi who beamed a bright smile back at him.  "Yeah great game, and great touchdown." she added like she knew exactly what she was talking about.  "Thanks." Arjun replied about to walk off when Lara quickly said "Oh Arjun did Arohi tell you about the camping trip we're all planning?"  "Camping trip?" Arjun asked, looking at Arohi.  "Yes, Lara and Jai and Zara, Shefali, Romit and a few others are going on a camping trip."  "You know bonfires, boating, roasting marshmallows, hiking..." Arohi began only to have Arjun interrupt with "I know what camping entails."  "Great, so you're coming right?" Lara asked quickly.  Arjun raised a brow and shook his head no.  "I don't think so, I'm very busy right now at work."  Seeing Arohi's crestfallen expression he instantly felt like an ass for saying no so quickly.  "You don't even know when we're going!" Lara said, clearly exasperated.  "You can't just be continuously busy at work!" she added with a frown.  "Yes, I can." he replied giving her a belligerent smile and walking away.  "Your husband is as stubborn as an ox!" Lara snapped looking at Arohi.  Arohi stared helplessly back at her.  How was she going to get through to him if he kept running from her!

Arjun awoke with a start, laying still for a moment as his eyes adjusted to the dark.   His heart beating a mile a minute, why... he didn't know.  Unconsciously he reached a hand to the left, slowly turning his head in the same direction.  Arohi's spot was empty.  Turning he looked at the clock as it flashed almost 2:30 am.  Where was she?  He was up and out of his bed before he had time to rationalize that maybe she was in the bathroom or went for a glass of water.  His need to suddenly see her quickly took him to the dark bathroom.  She wasn't there.  Heading into the hallway and down the stairs he peaked into the family room and found it empty and then next headed to the kitchen.  Seeing a soft light on he called "Arohi?"  A small yelp of pain answered his call.  "Arohi!" he repeated as he quickly made his way across the room to the stove where she stood infront of a pot of milk.  Arohi held her hand behind her.  "I'm fine." she managed to get out.  Arjun frowned as he reached behind her and brought her burnt palm towards him.  It wasn't a severe burn but to Arjun it was catastrophic.  He winced and quickly moved her to the sink where he pulled her hand under cold water before it could blister.  "Arohi, how many times have I told you to be careful!" he asked.  "I was, it's just that you caught me off guard as I poured the hot milk into a mug for myself."  she replied, tugging at her hand.  But Arjun wasn't about to let go, he held firm and a few moments later pulled it back and still holding her hand grabbed the first aid kit from the pantry.  "Sit down." he ordered.  Helping her on the stool he stared at the redness on her palm and slowly applied some salve, blowing on it as Arohi cried out in pain.  "It's  going to be okay baby." he said soothingly, not realizing what he'd just said.  Arohi paused and watched as Arjun continued his ministrations.  The look of concern on his face because he knew she was in pain.  This pain she can get past, what about the pain she felt inside...every time he pulled away from her.  "How's that?" he asked as he bandaged up the hand.  "It's better now." she replied looking into his face.  They were almost eye level as she sat on the high stool and he stood infront of her.  "Thanks." she said resisting the urge to touch his face.  To lean in and kiss his lips.  Arjun stared back at her, his gaze lingering over her face.  "You couldn't sleep?" he asked suddenly.  "No, I've been having a little bit of insomnia lately." she admitted.  "Why didn't you tell me?" he asked with a frown.  "Did you really want to know?" she asked giving in to her urge and cupping the side of his face.  "Yes, I want to know damnit"  "How long has this been happening?" he asked.  Arohi smiled and then stepped down from the stool walking over to where her milk sat.  Arjun moved quickly and took the mug out of her hands and poured her milk for her.  "Come sit out on the deck with me for a little bit Arjun." Arohi said suddenly.  "Arohi it's almost 3:00 in the morning." he answered.  "So, we're up, and I don't think we'll fall back asleep so quickly."  "Why not sit for a bit." she pushed.  Arjun hesitated for a moment and then finally gave in.  "Only until you finish your milk and then we're going up." he said as he led the way on the deck.  Taking a seat on the large chaise he paused as Arohi handed him her cup of milk and then grabbed a blanket and settled herself next to him.  He didn't even have time to protest as she rested her head on his arm...but the truth was he didn't want to protest.  Handing over the cup to her they sat in silence for a while and then Arohi said "When I was little I used to want to sleep under the stars in my backyard." "At first my parents tried to deter me from it."  "Why leave my warm bed to sleep outside?" "But eventually I convinced them of it."  Those adventures in the backyard with my dad telling stories, and us all snuggled up together on a big mattress, my mom and I giggling as my dad named various constellations incorrectly."  "Long into the night after my dad had fallen asleep my mom and I  talking about just anything and everything, random things sometimes."  "Those memories will always stay with me."  "I look back at those times and thank god that I had that special time with them, that I have those special memories with my mom."  "Those backyard sleepovers to someone else might seem silly, couldn't I have those discussions inside my house with my mom?" some would ask"  "But to me they were wonderful times." Arohi said, feeling a tear slide down her face.  Arjun who was listening quietly brushed the tear away with his thumb.  Arohi shook her head and forced a smile on her face.  "That's why I told myself that if I ever have children I am going to talk to them, and do so much with them because if my time with them is short atleast they will have wonderful loving memories to remember me by." she said only to have Arjun put his finger to her mouth.  A scowl on his face as he gruffly said "Why the hell would you say something stupid like that!"  "Our children are going to have many, many years with their mother."  "You're going to be around to see great grandchildren and then some!" he snapped as he looked down at her angrily.  His finger still covering her lips.  Arohi smiled as she felt tears fill her eyes.  Finally realizing what he had said he pulled his finger away and began to shift away from Arohi, but Arohi quickly put her mug down and threw an arm around him.  "Fine, we'll just make lots of memories with our kids so we can tell our grand children about them."  she said with smile.  Arjun grumbled something but didn't pull away.  A few moments later Arjun spoke.  "When Vicky and I were younger we had a tree house in our back yard."  "We weren't allowed to sleep in it at night no matter how much we begged, so some nights we would sneak out of the house and climb up into the tree house." "We'd play video games up there and have sword fights with our fake ninja swords." "I always let Vicky win." Arjun said with a small smile as he remembered back to that time.  "Sometimes long after Vicky was asleep I would be up reading about architecture and looking at pictures of amazing work from all over the world."  "I knew then that I wanted to make something that would show up in these books, that other people would remember me by."  Arjun continued.  "I didn't know you had decided so young that this is what you wanted to do with your life." she said.  Arjun nodded.  "This is what I always wanted and to see it become a reality sometimes seems surreal." he admitted.  Arohi stared up at him.  Surprised at his admission but happy to understand a little more of him.  "Well you should be proud, you've accomplished all those goals you set for yourself."  "I know how much people respect you and your work and I've seen the way young and old come to you for advice on their work."  "It makes me proud." she said genuinely.  Arjun stared down at her and more then any awards he received, or any other accolades hearing the genuine pride in Arohi's voice made him unbelievably happy.  Clearing his throat he said "We should go inside."  "No, just a few more minutes." Arohi begged, snuggling closer to Arjun.   Arjun sighed but settled back against the chaise and wrapped an arm around Arohi.  "Just a few minutes." he said with a yawn.  "Hmm." Arohi replied.  A few moments later, in each other's arms the two were fast asleep.

Arjun looked up as he heard a knock on his office door.  "Come in." he called.  "Hi Arjun!" came Lara's cheery voice as she peaked into his office and then fully opened the door to let herself in.  "Hi Lara," Arjun replied more then a little surprised.  "Where's Zara?" he asked.  "She's with grandma while I do some errands." Lara replied.  "Oh, isn't Jai in his office?" Arjun asked as he came around his desk to lean infront of it.  "Yes he is, infact we're having lunch together in a few minutes but I thought I'd drop by and see you first." she said.  Arjun's raised a brow in question and then asked her to have a seat.  "Do you want something to drink?" he asked.  "No, no, like I said I'll be leaving for lunch soon."  "I just wanted to say that I think it's great that you're letting Arohi come alone on the camping trip." Lara said.  Arjun frowned and walked back around to his seat.  "Arohi doesn't need my permission to go on a trip with her friends." he replied.  "Oh, ofcourse not."  "And we'll take the best care we can of her."  "I know she does have a history of getting herself into some trouble sometimes and of being a little clumsy..." Lara said.  Arjun's eyes narrowed as he stared at Lara.  "What are you talking about?" he asked.  "Oh Arjun I guess it's just the mommy in me...I'm worried for no reason."  "It's just that at the cottage she'd gone off on her own in the rain, remember when you couldn't find her?"  "And then the time she stepped in the glass and cut herself and she was just telling me how she burned her hand the other day."  "And her tendency to want to help stray animals, I guess I'm just worried about her being out there in the wilderness and thinking she'd help a wounded coyote or something." Lara said with a worried expression on her face.  "Arohi isn't stupid, she knows the difference between a coyote and a damn dog!" Arjun snapped.  "Oh ofcourse she does, but you know what a do gooder she is."  "But don't listen to me, she'll be fine."  "I'm sure she'll be fine."   . Lara said in a tone that clearly implied the opposite.  "Her friends will be there to help her," "I might be a little preoccupied with Zara but Shefali will be there."  Lara added.  "Shefali can barely take care of herself!" Arjun snapped as he got up and started to pace.  Lara hid a smile behind a cough as she got up.  "Well you don't worry about Arohi."  "She's a grown woman, so what if she's never gone camping before and isn't used to the rural terrain and is prone to some accidents."  "She'll be A-okay." Lara said as she let herself out of Arjun's office.  A smile breaking across her face.  "You might be stubborn Arjun but you're no match for Lara Sengupta!"

"You're not going." Arjun snapped for the third time, but Arohi continued to ignore him as she pulled more camping gear out of a shopping bag.  "Mosquito repellent, will need lots of that!" she said happily.  Arjun scowled.  "What part of, you. are. not. going. do you not understand?" he asked angrily.  "Any of it." she replied with a bright smile as she pulled out a sun hat.  "Arohi, you don't know the first thing about camping, it's not fun."  he added shaking his head.  "Yes it is!"  "Jai was telling us how much fun you guys used to have in your college days when you went camping." Arohi replied.  DAMN YOU JAI!  Arjun thought furiously.  "We were drunk, everything is fun when you're drunk!" he snapped.  "Then I'll drink too." she replied happily, wincing as she heard Arjun swear.  "Listen to me Arohi, camping is dangerous, what if a bear attacks you at night." he asked and then as if he realized that could actually happened he swore again.  His heart suddenly feeling too tight in his chest.  "There is no way you're going alone!" he snapped.  "I'm not going to be alone, there will be lots of other people with me " she said in voice one would use to calm a sulking child.  "Yeah useless people!" Arjun snapped.  "No, it's too dangerous."  he said shaking his head.  "Arjun, we're not going to be in tents, we're actually in quite nice log cabins."  "I read the brochure, more then camping,  the place looks like a resort."  "It'll be a lot of fun and I have some time right now before I start teaching again." she said.  Arjun opened his mouth to say something but from the determined look on Arohi's face he could tell she wasn't going to change her mind.  "Do whatever you want!" he snapped instead, stalking out their bedroom.  That night he dreamt that Arohi was being chased by a bear and just as she screamed for Arjun's help the bear caught her.  Waking with a start, he sat up gasping for air and quickly flipping on his bedside lamp.  Arohi lay fast asleep on her side of the bed.  Slowly his hand reached out and touched the side of her face.  Feeling her soft skin helped calm his breathing and he watched as she pressed her face against his hand.  Pulling away slowing to not disturb her, he switched off the light and laid down beside her.  He knew what he had to do and there was no getting around it.

Arohi paused infront of the glass sliding doors that led to their swimming pool.  Biting her bottom lip nervously she glanced down at the red and white polka dot string bikini she wore.  "Why are you behaving like a new blushing bride?" she asked herself for what seemed like the 100th time.  This was her husband and he'd seen her in a lot less and after the things they'd done together...there really wasn't room for shyness anymore.  But here she was ready to turn back and scurry back to her bedroom.  "Tania is right, you're a little mouse!"  she muttered to herself.  It was time to do something bold, Arjun seemed to be opening up to her on a emotional level, however slowly it was, but physically he had been keeping a distance and that just wouldn't do.   She knew he desired her but she hated how he stayed so aloof and in control around her.  Even now that they were sharing a bed.  She wanted her old Arjun back the one that always wanted her.  Her Arjun who with one hot look had her melting into a puddle.  It was time to remind Arjun that he had a desirable wife that he'd been neglecting.

Arjun swam lap after lap trying to clear his mind of the one person who was constantly on his mind...Arohi.  As he swam harder he tried to push past how she looked this morning when she came out of the bathroom wrapped in nothing but a plush towel.  Her skin still dewy and pink.  Her hair tied up loosely on top of her head leaving her shoulders bare.  His jaw had dropped as he'd stared at her and then seeing her shy smile he'd promptly picked his jaw back up off the floor and headed out the door as quickly as he could.  One more second of looking at her and he would have had the towel on the ground and himself against her.  It took all the willpower he could muster not to reach for her.  "She's your wife, why are you being so thickheaded about making love to your own wife?" taunted that little voice in his head.  And he had no answer...not for the voice, or for himself.  Arohi and him, had...no... HAVE unbelievable chemistry.  Almost from the beginning there was something there between them...and as the attraction grew, that "something" grew until it was out of control.  Until all Arjun ever thought about was how to get Arohi into bed, or into the shower, or on to the sofa...damn he wanted her all the time and from what he saw Arohi had reciprocated those feelings.  That "something" hadn't changed...that desire, that need for her was if anything had intensified especially in the past few weeks.  But with the way things stood between them he didn't know how smart it was for them to take that step right now.  Even if not taking that step was just about killing him.  Taking a deep breath he went under water and swam the rest of the lap with his mind muddled.   Finishing the lap he stopped to take a breath.  His head coming out of the water and his hand coming up to run through his wet hair.  And that''s when he saw her standing at the edge of the pool.  He couldn't have spoken if his life depended on it.  As it was, he was thinking he must have died and gone to heaven but that couldn't be possible...because what stood infront of him was pure sin.  Sin in a tiny  red polka dot bikini.  Arohi tried not to fidget as Arjun's gaze traveled up her body and then back again.  Be a confident sexy woman! she told herself.  Pushing her hair over one shoulder she  finally said "Is the water warm?"    Arjun was on fire so to him the pool felt more like a sauna but he nodded nevertheless his gaze never leaving her.  Arohi slowly walked to the steps and then into the pool, submerging herself to her chest and then as she walked further in to her shoulders.  "I just thought it was a nice night for a swim."  "It's just been so hot, I was hoping to get out earlier but I just didn't get the chance." she babbled keeping a distance.  Arjun watched the nervous way she bit down on her lip and the way she didn't quite meet his gaze.  She was his innocent seductress , always had been, what she didn't know, was how hot she was in this role.  It made him want to do things to her that made her shed all her inhibitions.  He watched as she licked her lips nervously and moved to the opposite wall of the pool.  "I think I'll do some laps." she said softly.  Arjun who was now leaning against the pool, nodded, but didn't make a move to leave the pool or continue on with his own laps.  Instead he folded his arms against his chest and continued to lean against the wall.  Arohi successfully finished one lap and then another.  Looking at Arjun nervously as he still stayed in the same place.  His body relaxed and his eyes hooded, a small smirk on his lips.  Bold be bold! she mimicked herself as she did another lap.  So much for that, she was such a bloody chicken she thought with disappointment as she made it to the other side.  Looking up at Arjun she saw he'd moved from the wall and was coming closer to her and seeing  the predatory look on his face, Arohi felt her heart begin to race.  And instead of staying in place she started to retreat.  Swimming further from him which was futile since he was an excellent swimmer.  But as she glanced back she noticed he was going slower.  His movement precise, but leisurely.  Arohi gulped and kept going until she felt a hand on her ankle.  Giving a little squeak she struggled but that hand just kept moving up to her knee, and then thigh and then finally he was behind her.  His hands on her hips, his breath against her ear.  "Going somewhere?" he asked in a husky voice that had Arohi feeling tingly all over.  Arohi shook her head no.  Arjun's hands squeezed her hips gently.  "Really, because it looked like you were running Arohi?"  "Are you afraid of something?" he asked in that same husky voice.  "Afraid?" she asked softly and then whimpered as Arjun bit down on her shoulder.  Giving it a soft kiss he said  "If this bikini was bought to drive me crazy I would say mission is accomplished." His mouth now trailing up her neck. "I bought it for myself." she lied and then moaned as Arjun chuckled and then took her earlobe into his mouth.    "Good, then you can take it off for me." he said in a silky voice as his hands moved to the skimpy ties of her bikini top.  Arohi took the opportunity to push away and quickly move away.   Seeing the desire in Arjun's eyes had a smile spreading across her face and a thrill of anticipation run down her spine.  "Not so fast," she said, moving back a few steps.  Arjun was after her in moments and Arohi giggled with delight as she tried to evade him.  But as his hand reached for her and grabbed the back of her bikini she quickly slipped away.  Putting a few feet worth of difference between them.  They stared at each other and then both their gazes shifted to something red floating between them.  Arohi's eyes widened in horror as she looked down at herself and then at her bikini top floating in the pool.  A wide grin spread across Arjun's face as he also realized what had happened.  Quickly moving to the bikini and scooping it up.  "Give it back Arjun." Arohi said self consciously. "Not on your life." he replied taking the few steps that separated them and grabbing her to him.  His lips were against hers in seconds and soon Arohi forgot all about bikini tops as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed against him.  Arjun's mouth pressed harder against hers, laying claim as he made love to her mouth and his hands moved over her body.  Ripping his mouth from hers he pressed kisses everywhere.  "Damn, you feel good!" he said hoarsely against her neck.   All his earlier thoughts about him and Arohi not rushing into a physical relationship gone, as Arohi arched her neck and wrapped her legs around his hips.  Her own lips soon moved to his neck and when she bit down slowly she smiled at the moan that came from his lips.  She was now against the wall of the pool and Arjun was pressed against her.  His hands exploring her body..  His mouth back against hers as he gave her hot kisses that were leaving her completely dazed.  Pulling at his own shorts through the haze of desire he stopped.  He couldn't make love to her after so long against the side of a pool.   No he needed to get her to their bedroom where they could make love all night.  "Sweetheart, we need to go up to our bedroom" Arjun said as he kissed her shoulder and neck.  "Hmm.." Arohi replied, pressing closer to him.  "Oh damn Arohi don't wiggle like that." Arjun replied as if he was in pain.  They needed to get upstairs NOW!  he thought as he stepped away from her and grabbed her hand, dragging her out of the pool.  Seeing her almost naked body was almost his undoing.  Grabbing his towel he toweled her dry, stopping to pull her against him for another hot kiss.  Must get to room.  He repeated as he handed her his t--shirt, and  grabbing a towel for himself, he raced towards the glass doors.  Opening the doors they stepped inside only to have Arjun press Arohi against the hallway wall and kiss her again and again.  No, he wasn't going to make it upstairs, he needed her right now he thought as he turned to pull her into the huge king size bathroom.  The names "Arjun, Arohi." had Arohi stop just outside the bathroom.  Arjun continued to tug her in, but she stopped him when she heard familiar laughter and heard voices coming closer.  "How was your journey from Chandigarh?"  Maria was saying.  "It was perfectly fine, but after I see my kids I just want a nice shower and then bed." Arjun's mom replied.  "OH MY GOD!"  Arohi snapped as she shoved Arjun and herself into the bathroom and quickly shut the door.  Gone was the hooded desire filled eyes, they were now replaced with murderous rage.  "Why is my mom here?" he asked angrily.  "Um, you knew your parents were coming. I told you remember." she replied moving away from him.  "And I specifically told you to tell them no."  "With everything else going on between us I don't need their craziness too!" he snapped.  "Arjun it's not like that."  "They've changed..." she began only to have Arjun cut her off.  "You are always doing what you want."  "When does what I want matter to you?" he asked angrily.  "It matters, it always matters Arjun." Arohi replied.  "No, it never does."  "You say that in my list of priorities you came last..well in your list of priories I'm pretty close to the bottom too." he snapped.  "No, that's now true." Arohi cried only to have Arjun hold up his hand to quiet her.  "I don't want to hear it!"  "Now I must go out there and make sure my parents are placed in opposite corners of the house so that they don't kill each other!"  And with that Arjun pulled open the door and stormed out leaving a hurt and baffled Arohi behind.
