Arohi inhaled the flowery scent of the roses and smiled. "He remembered." she whispered, her smile widening as she pulled the card out of the large bouquet that had just been delivered to her. "Happy birthday to the most amazing woman I know." love Samir. Arohi's smile crumpled. Oh Samir had sent the roses...not Arjun. Samir remembered her birthday and not Arjun, she thought to herself and then quickly pushed the thought away. "It's still so early Arohi!" she chided herself taking another breath of the roses. Arjun was probably planning something amazing for her she thought to herself. Afterall she was a quarter century old today, she thought with a grin. It had been a couple of days since their fight and even though they hadn't talked about it in length, she had vowed to herself to push past it. Arjun loved her and he had apologized to her, as well telling her that this was her home before it was anyone else's, including his. "You're the queen of my castle." he had joked as he held her in a tight embrace. But then in all seriousness he had lifted her chin to look into her eyes and told her "You make this a home, without you this is just a lonely old house..without your laughter, and the sound of your beautiful voice these rooms and hallways are hollow and empty." "You aren't happy then I will fix it." he had promised. Arohi had nodded with tears in her eyes. Hearing her phone ring brought her out of her thoughts and back to the present. "Hi." she said without checking who was calling. "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Arohi, happy birthday to you!!!" Arohi laughed at the off key sound of Rashi and Shefali on the other line. "Are we first?" Shefali asked excitedly. "Oh no wait a minute, I'm an idiot ofcourse we're not first to wish you, Arjun's first!" Shefali said, answering her own question. Arohi quickly changed the topic and started to ask how Rashi and Raj were doing. "We're fine, our friend here though is driving poor Romit, Raj's cousin crazy!" Rashi replied. "What?" "I thought you liked this one Shefali?" Arohi asked. "I do like him, that's why I'm letting him chase after me a little." "I gotta play atleast a little hard to get." Shefali replied. Rashi and Arohi both shook their heads at their crazy friend. The girls talked for a few more minutes and then hung up as Arohi's other line rang. "Lara." Arohi said with a small smile. The morning was filled with calls from well wishers and 2 more flower deliveries, one from her in laws and one from Lara and Jai. Lara had asked what she was doing for her special day and then had added that Arjun probably had something special planned for her. Arohi had pushed back the lump in her throat not knowing how to answer that. Around noon she'd given up on receiving a call from Arjun. Angrily wiping at the tears that filled her eyes she went to change her clothes for her lunch date with Shefali and Samir. Atleast some one cared she thought to herself. But as she made her way to the door her phone rang and seeing Arjun's name flash she couldn't help how her heart rate quickened. Quickly picking it up, she said "Hello." "Oh hi babe." "How's your day?" Arjun asked. Arohi smiled and then frowned. She was going to give it to Arjun for making her wait so long. "Fine!" she snapped in answer. "Oh okay good." "Hey can you check if I left the Mehta file in my study please." "I need it today for an important meeting." "If it's there, I'll have my assistant come pick it up." he added. Arohi froze in shock and then the tears that she had been holding back for the last 2 hours spilled over. "Arohi, are you there." Arjun called. Arohi forced herself to say "Hmm." "Is the file there?" he asked again. Blindly walking to the study she looked on his desk and spotted the file. "It's here." she said softly. "Oh good." "Okay enjoy your day and I'll see you tonight." he said, as he hung up. Arohi lowered herself into a chair and rested her head against the desk finally giving into her tears.
"So what do you think Jai?" Arjun asked as Jai looked over the sketches of a large townhouse development they were working on. "It's good, I like how we're going more and more towards Eco friendly and sustainability" he replied looking up at Arjun. "I do have some minor changes I want to make." "I'll do those tomorrow morning." Jai replied, turning towards the door. "Are you leaving already?" Arjun asked, glancing at his watch. Jai frowned and then gave him a narrow eyed look. "Yeah, I'm going because I have a pregnant wife who I would like to spend some time with, and I don't enjoy working these crazy 80 hour weeks you like to put in." Jai replied. Arjun rolled his eyes and sat back down at his desk. "No pain no gain my friend." he said already starting to work on something. "Well I would have thought atleast tonight you would have gone home early considering what day it is." Jai said, opening the office door. Arjun looked up. "What day is is?" he asked. Jai stopped and stared at him in shock. "What did you just say?" Jai asked. "I said, what day is it?" "What's so special about today?" Arjun asked, glancing at the date on his computer. "You're an idiot!" Jai replied shaking his head in disgust. "If you continue this way, all you're going to have left to keep you warm at night is that bloody computer!" Jai added as he walked out of the office, slamming the door behind him. Arjun frowned, staring at the door and then brought up his calendar on his phone. Nothing was listed but meetings, he thought as his gaze shifted to a photo of a smiling Arohi. And just like that Arjun remembered. "F*&^%!!" he yelled as he practically jumped up from his desk. Glancing at his watch he saw it was 4:30. What the hell was wrong with him that he would forget Arohi's birthday! And then he remembered his phone conversation earlier this afternoon with Arohi. Closing his eyes he shook his head at himself. "Jai's right I'm an idiot and a bast**d!" Arjun muttered as he grabbed his jacket and headed out of his office. He had to do damage control and he had to do it fast! he told himself. First stop... jewelry shop!
Arohi sat in the family room, a bottle of wine sat on the table next to her, and a tub of Ben and Jerry's chunky monkey ice cream in her lap. She wore her pajamas with her hair pulled up in an untidy bun. Her face scrubbed clean of make up. "Happy birthday to me." she mumbled to herself as she stuffed a spoonful of ice cream into her mouth. Khabhi Khushi Khabhi Gham played on the TV. "Rahul, guys like you only exist in reel life." "In real life there is no such thing as romance and love." "There is apparently only work, bank balance, power and freakin more money!" Arohi snapped, as she lifted the bottle of wine to her lips and drank from the bottle. She could have gone out with her friends, she knew everyone wanted to celebrate with her, but when everyone just assumed that Arjun must have planned something special for her b-day she had let them believe that. Too embarrassed to tell them the truth, that her own husband, the man that supposedly loved her, had forgotten her b-day. Brushing at her tears again, she hiccuped. She knew she was having a pity party but she didn't care. "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!" she said with another hiccup. "Not if I can help it." said a voice from behind her. Arohi turned and glared at Arjun who held a huge bouquet of red roses, a massive box of her favorite chocolates, atleast a dozen balloons and a gift bag that she recognized from a designer jewelry store. Turning away from him she said "Go away!" Arjun winced but came around the sofa to sit next to her. "Happy birthday Arohi." he began, only to have Arohi turn and give him a murderous glare. "I'm sorry, but you must be confused, it's not my birthday." "I mean how could it be my birthday?" she asked sarcastically "If it was my birthday there is no way my husband would have forgotten." "So no, it's not my birthday." she said matter of factly taking another swig from her bottle. As Arjun reached for her hand she gave him a look that should have turned him into stone. "I wouldn't if I were you!" she snapped, looking at his outstretched hand as it was vermin. Arjun swallowed then said "I got you this." Passing the flowers to her. Arohi glanced that them and then shoved them back at him. "I got dozens of flowers today, I don't need anymore." "How about your favorite chocolates?" he said, opening up the box and putting them under her nose. "No thank you, I'm on a diet!" she replied shoving a heaping spoon of ice cream into mouth. "Well this I know you'll like" he began opening up the jewelry box in which lay a beautiful diamond bracelet. "I have plenty of jewelry, I don't need anymore." she said starting to stand up. But this time Arjun did grab her hand and pull her back down. "Don't touch me Arjun!" she snapped trying to get him to release her wrist. "I'm so sorry baby." "I have no excuses, I'm an idiot and I don't deserve you." "What I did is unforgivable and you have every right to be mad." "I deserve your anger." he said, his heart clenching as helpless tears appeared in her eyes. "I hate you!" she said quietly, her voice hoarse. "I know baby, I hate myself too." he replied, pulling her against his chest. Arohi struggled for a moment but just like that the fight seemed to leave her. Sniffling against his chest she let herself be held and comforted by the man that had caused the hurt to begin with. "I know I can't make this up to you but will you please alteast let me try." he asked softly. Arohi didn't reply. "It's still your birthday for another 5 1/2 hours." "Let me try to make it special for you." he pressed. Finally Arohi nodded and looked up at him with big eyes, her lashes still wet with tears. "It better be good, it better be out of this world good!" she said, her brows furrowed. Arjun smiled as he leaned down to kiss her nose. "I promise i will try my best to make it the best birthday you've ever had." "Now hurry and get ready." he added standing up and pulling her up with him. "Wear something sexy." he called and then choked back a laugh when Arohi turned around and gave him a glare. "Or what you're wearing is fine too." he quickly added.
What is this place?" Arohi asked as they pulled into a crowded parking lot. "You'll see, trust me you'll love it." Arjun replied grabbing her hand and pulling her towards the building. Once inside Arohi was completely fascinated by the Latin flavor to the atmosphere, the severs dressed in traditional garb, the beautiful latin music that filled the room. Looking at Arjun she smiled while he frowned. "I'm going to kill Aman!" he muttered to himself about one of his project managers who had raved about this place. To Arjun it looked like a dive. "I'm sorry Arohi, let's get out of here I'll take you somewhere much better." he began, starting to pull her out of the place. But Arohi wasn't going anywhere. "What?" "We're leaving?" "No we just got here and this place looks so cool!" she said excitedly. "Cool?" Arjun repeated looking around at the tacky ambiance. Were those piatas hanging from the ceiling he thought with a wince. "That's it Aman's fired!" he thought to himself. "Yes cool!" "Did you bring me here because of that time I told you I took Salsa lessons." Arohi asked as her gaze shifted to couples dancing on the make shift dance floor. Arjun had no memory of what Arohi was talking about, but seeing the happy smile on her face he nodded. "Exactly why I brought you here baby." he said as they were led to their corner table. Glancing at the menu he winced some more. This was not just any night out, this was Arohi's 25th birthday and he had promised to make it the best one yet. It sure as hell wasn't going to be the best one yet if they were eating nachos and quesadias! But glancing at Arohi he couldn't help but smile. She looked so happy as she flipped through her menu and then her eyes shifted over the venue. Her excitement clearly evident. The waitress brought them over a bowl of homemade tortillas and salsa and Arjun ordered a beer for himself and a Sangria for Arohi. "I love this place!" Arohi squealed as a guy wearing a Sombrero and holding a guitar made his way over to them and sang a few lines of a Spanish ballad for Arohi. "That was beautiful, thank you." Arohi said as the man lifted her hand to his mouth. With a smile as he moved away from the table. "I don't think the kiss was necessary!" Arjun growled, grabbing her hand. Arohi giggled and then stood up forcing Arjun up to. "Let's go dance." she said. "Dance, to this?" "No way." Arjun replied. "Arjun, you promised!" she said. "I didn't promise to dance!" Arjun replied in mock horror. "No, you promised to make this birthday special and special to me is dancing with my husband." Arohi replied. Arjun gulped and looked uncomfortably towards the dance floor, at the skilled dancers. He was going to murder Aman, he thought to himself as he let Arohi lead him to the dance floor. "Just follow my lead." she whispered settling his hands on her hips and starting to move with the music. Arjun watched her steps and it was no surprise that he caught on quick. Wrapping her arms around his neck she started to move faster, her face flushed and her eyes bright. Swinging her once, twice he brought her back against him. Her eyes widening in surprise and then a naughty smile pulling at her lips, she turned around, her back to his front, and moved to the music, her hips shaking as his hands settled back onto them. Arjun had never realized what a seductive dance this could be. Why hadn't Arohi danced like this before for him? She looked so sexy and free that he wanted everyone to disappear, and it to be just him and her. Turning back around as the song finished, Arohi out of breath and flushed, smiled happily at him. Arjun felt his heart clench, one moment she's turning him on, a siren in his arms, and the next moment she's looking at him with such love and innocence that he actually feels a lump form in his throat and a feeling of protectiveness settle over him. "I'm starving let's eat and then we can dance some more." she said excitedly as they made their way back to their table. Food ordered, a new glass of Sangria in Arohi's hands, she was practically vibrating in her chair. "I love this place." she repeated as she finished off another drink which was quickly refilled. Arjun took her hand into his and brought it to his lips. "And I love you." he said. Arohi smiled and then her eyes widened. "Can you feel that music?!" "It just runs through your whole body." Come on no more sitting, let's go dance some more." Arjun laughed as he let her lead him onto the dance floor. The night progressed with lots of dancing, even more drinking by Arohi and Arjun was pleasantly surpised to find that the food was excellent. The crowd was fun and seeing that Arohi was a natural she was pulled in to dance with them. Arjun watched enthralled by his memorizing Arohi. He could not believe how hard he'd fallen for her, and then he smiled to himself. Yeah, he could believe it, she was beautiful, smart, funny, enchanting, sexy and innocent and... her heart...he'd never met anyone so pure of heart. She was in one word...Perfect. And she was his. That wasn't something he knew he could take lightly.
A clearly drunk Arohi hung from Arjun's arm as he led her to their car. "I had so much fun!" she slurred as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips against his. Arjun found himself leaning her against the car and giving her a thorough kiss back. One that left them both breathless. Leaning his forehead against hers, he heard her say "I want you to make love to me Arjun." Arjun smiled at her quiet demand and asked with a grin "Right here?" The glassy look in her eyes, the slight flush to her face, her hair a little mussed from when he'd held the back of her neck as he kissed her. The whole look had the ability to turn him on in seconds, but her next words had his whole body reacting. "Right here, right now." she said, and then gave a little hiccup. Arjun let out a frustrated sigh. "Baby, soon, let's just get home and then we'll do whatever you want." he replied, gently pushing her into the car. But Arohi had other ideas. As soon as Arjun got into the car she was reaching over and kissing his neck. "Don't you want me Arjun?" she asked with a pout as she went back to what she was doing. Arjun bit back a groan. Not want her, that was like saying he didn't want to breathe. "I do baby." he replied, giving into temptation and kissing her. Arohi's little whimpers were going to be his undoing he thought as he forced himself to pull away. Again thoughts of murdering Aman came to mind. This place was a 35 minute drive, 35 minutes at this point might as well be 35 hours he thought as Arohi bit down on his earlobe. Be strong he told himself as he forced Arohi's seatbelt on. Arohi crossed her arms against her chest and pouted as he sped towards home. A few minutes of deep breathing had him finally getting back into control, when he felt Arohi's hand against his hair. "No touching right now Arohi." he warned as he shifted her hand back to her lap. A minute later her hand was back, but this time on his thigh. An innocent look in her eyes. "Arohi!" he growled placing her hand on to her lap. "What?" she said asked with a hiccup. Arjun didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Home in 20 minutes he told himself as he gripped his steering wheel. Think of something else, he told himself as he started to mentally calculate numbers in his head for a project he was working on. Something dull and boring might keep his mind off of what he really wanted to do which was pull over to the side of the road and make love to his wife. As his mind shifted to his second spreadsheet he started to hear deep breathing. His eyes quickly flew to Arohi's sleeping figure. WHAT THE HELL!" he snapped. She was asleep...She was asleep after driving him crazy with desire. A soft little snore had him practically ready to cry. "Arohi, baby wake up." he called, even touching her arm. Arohi shoved his hand aside and burrowed deeper into the seat. Arjun pulled into their driveway and with a miserable expression on his face he went to the passenger side and lifted her out. "Baby, we're home." he whispered in her ear as he carried her up the stairs. No answer. Laying her onto their bed he stared at her sleeping form. He reached a hand out to shake her awake but at that moment she turned and grabbed his hand. Pressing it against her heart. A soft smile settling on her lips as she continued to sleep peacefully. Arjun sat down on the ground and stared down at that face, at that soft smile. An errant hair alay against her face, which he gently tucked behind her ear. His gaze shifted to the colorful bangles that lay against her wrist. A memory of her from her early days in the house came back to him suddenly. He had been trying his best to be indifferent towards her, which showed just what an idiot he was. Anyone with two eyes could see that it was a near impossible feat to be indifferent to someone like Arohi. She brought light everywhere she went and she brought music in the form of her laughter, and the tinkling of her payal. He had never even thought about things like payals and chooria until he met Arohi and now his house was filled with those sounds. He could usually hear her even before he saw her, and knowing she was close by, always brought a smile to his face. That day he'd been passing her room on the way to his ,and he'd heard her as usual before he saw her, his eye traveling to the open doorway. She'd been slipping on her chooria, a pout on her lips and she was talking to herself...about him. "I don't know what he thinks he is!" "No dogs, it's my house, and I'm allergic!" she had mimicked him, as she swung a duppata over her fitted salwar kameez. Forcing on some more chooria she stopped and glared at them. Arjun had had a feeling the glare was really directed at him. "Well I'll show you Mr. Kharoos!" she snapped, and then winced with pain as her choori broke. Arjun was in the room in a few strides, grabbing her wrist and glaring at her and then at the broken choori that had drawn blood. Even then he could now admit that he was falling for her. Her eyes had filled with tears and when she had tried to speak he had pressed a finger to her lips to quiet her. She had looked at him in surprise as he had called Maria and ordered a first aid box to be brought up. His gaze had been stormy and again as Arohi had tried to speak he'd given her an angry look which had her promptly closing her mouth. He'd cleaned and bandaged the superficial wound but his heart had beat harder and faster knowing that she was in pain. His anger hadn't been at her hurting herself, but at the choori or for that matter at anything, that could bring tears to her eyes. At anything that could make her feel pain. "I was falling for you even back then Arohi, but I didn't see it...or didn't want to see it, but I see it now, and I'll never forget how lucky I am to have you." he said caressing her cheek and then pressing a soft kiss where his fingers had just been.
"Hi." Arohi said into the phone the next afternoon. "Hi babe." Arjun replied as he leaned back against his office chair. "I'm sorry about last night." she quickly said. Arjun chuckled. "For what?" he asked. "I'm the one that forgot your birthday and then took you to a divey Mexican restaurant." he replied. "Divey!" "It was one of the best birthdays ever." "I loved the place but what I loved most Arjun, was having you all to myself." "It was just you and me and well the rest of the restaurant but still I had your undivided attention and don't think I didn't notice how you ignored your phone calls." she said. Arjun smiled and replied "I'm glad you're happy, that's all that matters to me." "I am and I remember how drunk an um...enthusiastic I got as we left the restaurant." she said with a blush. A smile lifted to Arjun's lips as he waited for her to continue "I guess nothing happened." she said softly making Arjun laugh. "Do you remember anything happening?" he asked. Arohi's muffled "No" had him grinning, he could just imagine her blushing. "Are you going to make it up to me?" he asked softly. "Make up what?" she asked. "For being a tease." he replied. "A tease... me?" she asked a little shock. "Make love to me right here, right now Arjun...ring a bell?" he mocked. Arohi felt her face turning red. So it hadn't been a dream, she had said that. "I was drunk." she mumbled. "Well plan on being drunk tonight when I get home..infact plan on being drunk every night." he said in a husky voice. "Anyways!" Arohi said changing the subject that always made her blush. "I just wanted to thank you for a lovely evening." "You can thank me when I get home." he replied bringing the topic right back. Arohi couldn't help the little smile that came to her lips. "Come home on time and I'll thank you in your favorite way." she replied, "but come home your usual time and all you're going to find is me fast asleep." she added. "Spoken like a true wife!" Arjun said with a grin. "Giving me ultimatums" he added. "Hey, they aren't ultimatums...they're incentives." Arohi replied, loving their banter. "Well I think I need a little more incentive, why don't you describe to me what this incentive entails." he asked in a husky voice. Arohi paused and then throwing caution to the wind she said "Remember that fantasy of me, you and a bathtub full of bubbles?" she asked. Arjun's eyed widened as he leaned forward. "Tell me more." he said. "I've thrown away all my loofahs and bath sponges." she replied, blushing. A naughty smile lit up Arjun's face. "You're blushing aren't you?" he asked. "Hmm." Arohi managed say. "After that visual I doubt I'll be getting any work done, maybe I should come home now." he said and then looked up as someone knocked at his door. "Damnit!" she heard him say making her laugh. "Be home on time, I'll be waiting." she said, as she hung up. Cradling the phone against her chest she couldn't help but smile. She'd missed Arjun so much, it felt good to be finally back on track.
"Hmm." Arjun said as his assistant Lily walked in with another cup of coffee for him. "Thanks Lily." he said. "Why don't you go ahead and go home, it's getting late and Niki and I are going to be at this for awhile." he added. "Thank you sir, I'll see you in the morning then." Lily replied, before she shut the door behind her. Arjun gazed towards the door. Arohi, bubbles, him... was now just a distant memory. He'd left her a message an hour ago when he saw that there was no way he was getting home early tonight. Niki had come by with some last minute changes to to the luxury resort they were developing. Changes that would take hours to make and since they came in at the 12th hour and the plans were going to city officials tomorrow to begin the approval process, Arjun and Niki would need to make them now. "Ridiculous!" he muttered as he looked through the plans. "I feel like calling those idiots and giving them a piece of my mind!" Arjun snapped as he sat down and crumpled a working plan copy. "Calm down Arjun." Niki said coming up and massaging Arjun's tense shoulders. That was the scene Jai walked in on. His brows shot up, but he didn't say anything. "How are things going in here?" he asked directing his question to Arjun. "Shitty!" Arjun replied, handing him the list of changes. "I see..why didn't these bast**ds decide on these changes during one of the numerous meetings we had with them?!" Jai snapped. "Exactly what I said!" Arjun replied with a disgusted shake of his head. "I spoke to the project manager and the CAO and was able to get them to change their mind about 60% of the changes, the rest we will unfortunately have to do." Arjun replied. "I'll stay as long as I can to help." Jai began, when Arjun interrupted him. "No, Lara is pregnant, and you should be with her." "Niki and I can work on it." Arjun added. Jai started to say something when Niki quickly interrupted. "Arjun's right, right now you're first priority is Lara." "We've got this." she said putting a hand on Arjun's arm. Jai watched as Arjun busily flipped through a file not noticing Niki's hand, or the look in her eyes. But Jai was much more perceptive, then his friend. "Niki, Arjun and I can take care of this." "You should head home, it's getting late." Jai said. He knew Niki for what she was and what she could be. He'd known her just as long as Arjun had, and he knew behind that easy smile lay something quite different. "What are you talking about?" Niki said, her eyes sparking. "I don't have a husband or even boyfriend waiting for me." "All I have is my work, you have Lara and she needs you right now." "Tell him Arjun." she pushed, touching Arjun's shoulder. "Hmm..yeah Jai, go to Lara, it's late and she shouldn't be home alone." "I've got this." he said reassuringly. Jai hesitated and looked at Niki..her eyes had a shifty quality about them, but he knew he should be home with Lara in her condition. Relenting, he agreed but didn't miss the triumphant look in Niki's eyes. First opportunity he had he was going to talk to Arjun about Niki.
Arohi woke up slowly, stretching she turned to see Arjun asleep next to her. Glancing at the clock she saw it was 8:00 am. She wondered what time he'd gotten home last night. She'd waited until her eyes refused to stay open and then she'd relented and finally went to bed. She knew he was working late but she had still hoped that she might be able to catch him. Looking at his handsome face made her heart skip a beat. He was so good looking that sometimes she couldn't help but stare. The way his dimples appeared out of no where, the way his eyes twinkled when he teased her, or made her blush. The way he protected her and tried to make her happy. And no matter what she knew he wouldn't fail her, her trust in him was that strong. He might make her angry sometimes, he might frustrate her all of the time, but trust, he would never break that. She might not always trust everyone around him..ie Vicky, but she trusted Arjun with her life. Leaning down, but being careful not to wake him up, she pressed a feather soft kiss against his forehead. But as she turned around to get off the bed she was pulled right back until she was draped against him. "Arjun, you're supposed to be sleeping!" she cried. Arjun whose eyes were still closed slowly opened them. "Don't go." he said softly. Arohi glanced at the clock. Oh what the hell, she thought, being late to work was okay if it meant she could spend a few extra minutes with her husband. Laying back down she rested her head on his chest and put her arm over his stomach. Arjun's arm pulled her even closer. "Did you get your stuff done?" she asked. "Hmm." Arjun replied, closing his eyes and burrowing his face into her neck. "What time did you get home this morning?" she asked. "6:00." he replied with a yawn. Arohi winced. "I won't bother to tell you how sick you're going to to make yourself if you keep working at this pace." Arohi said. Arjun gave a smile and replied "Thanks for not bothering to tell me." Arohi swatted his arm but pulled him closer. "Go to sleep and don't wake up until this afternoon.' she said. "I have to be up at 9:00. we have a meeting." he said sleepily. Arohi frowned but didn't push. Bringing a soothing hand to his temple she slowly rubbed a hand over it until she could hear his even breathing again. She was going to kidnap him she thought to herself. Kidnap him and force him to take it easy, she added as she slowly slipped away from him and pulled their duvet up to cover him.
2 nights Later
Arjun wiped a hand over his tired eyes and yawned. "What time is it?" he said to himself as glanced at his watch. Wincing when he saw that it was 10:00 pm. The office was empty except for him, security and some janitorial staff. Glancing at the file infront of him he decided to just finish up some last details and then call it a day. Thinking of going home to his beautiful wife made him flip through the pages faster. But a few minutes later as he was busily working on his laptop he was surprised to hear a knock at his door. "Come in." he called thinking it was probably one of his janitorial staff. His head down as he studied a plan he said "Did you need something?" "Yes, I would like my husband back." Arohi replied from the doorway. Arjun's shocked stare met her mischievous gaze from across the room. "Arohi, what are you doing here at this hour?" he asked. "I told you I'm here to get my husband back..well atleast for the night, I know your mistress will want you back nice and early." she said with a grimace referring to his office and his work. Arjun grinned as he watched her close the door and then walk up to stand infront of him "I think I've been a very good wife letting her have you during the day, BUT the nights are mine!" she said adamantly. Arjun's smile widened as he listened to Arohi. "And if she think she can take away your nights...well then she's got another thing coming!" Arohi added. Arjun's chair swiveled around to face her. "What are you going to do about this mistress?" he asked. "I'm going to show her, and you, who's boss." Arohi replied, the slightest tremble in her hand as it moved to the buttons of her long coat. Arjun watched fascinated, and then his eyes widened and he felt his mouth go dry as Arohi pealed the coat off to reveal the red lingerie set she'd worn for him in London. The barely there lacy bra leaving very little to the imagination, the sexy panties and garter and black heals that made her legs look like they went on forever. "I..." he began at a loss for words. "Tell me Mr. Singhania, who is boss?" she asked. "You." Arjun replied, his gaze moving over her luscious body. "And when boss wants you to come home on time what do you do?" she asked. "I...Arjun shook his head to try to clear it and choked out "I come home on time." "Good answer, now you've been shirking on your duties so are you going to make it up to me?" she asked in a bossy little voice. Arjun who had finally seemed to find his voice couldn't help the smirk that made it to his lips. "Far be it for me to not satisfy the bosses needs..sorry...wishes." he replied as he stood up slowly and his hand snaked out to grab her around the waist and pull her closer until she was flush against his body. "What do you want me to do Arohi?' he asked in that sexy voice of his. Arohi's stared at his desire filled eyes. "I..." she began and stopped, starting to lose some of her bravado. "You can tell me." he said softly as he pressed his lips to the base of her throat and kissed her softly, then trailed lingering kisses along to her bare shoulder. Arohi bit her lip against the pleasure his touch brought. "Do you like this Arohi?" he asked, as he kissed her neck and then gently bit down making her gasp in pleasure. "Hmmm." she replied wrapping her arms around his neck. "How about this?" he asked, moving to her ear and licking along to the lobe which he bit down softly on. Arohi's sigh of pleasure had him chuckling. "How about this?" he started to say, but was cut off by Arohi who took his face into her hands and kissed him. Her lips against his had Arjun moaning as Arohi deepened the kiss. Arjun's hands moved up her body to behind her neck where he held her in place as the kiss became for demanding, more hungry. Picking her up he settled her on the edge of his desk and kissed her like he was never going to stop. Arohi's hands moving to his shirt pulling at buttons as Arjun quickly untucked it. Quickly it was thrown off and Arohi's hands moved to his chest, her lips falling the route making Arjun groan again. He made quick work of undoing her bra as as his lips moved to bare shoulder and bit down on it. Arjun moved her to the sofa laying her down and following suit. Their lovemaking was a frenzy of need and desire as Arohi pulled Arjun closer still. Her nails digging into his back as she screamed his name. Arjun was left shaken after the experience, his love for her so strong that even after being with her he couldn't stop touching and kissing her for a long time afterwards. Even after all this time he couldn't believe that he had gotten this lucky to be married to this amazing, sexy woman. "That was amazing." Arohi said in a drowsy voice as she lay pressed against him on the sofa. Arjun pressed a kiss against her temple and grinned. Amazing wouldn't describe the half of it he thought. "So I guess you weren't angry that I interrupted your work?" Arohi asked with a giggle as Arjun squeezed her closer to him. "You are allowed to come to my office to seduce me at any hour of any day." he replied. "I see, what if someone was to see me in my seduction wear?" she asked. Arjun scowled and moved his head up to look down at her. "No one but me sees you like this." he replied gruffly. "You're mine!" he added for good measure. Arohi smiled and then softly touching his cheek she said "And you're mine Arjun, promise me that...you will always be mine." "Only mine." she said feeling a lump form in her throat. Arjun raised a brow and looked at her questioningly. "Arohi, you know that already." "I love you, only you." he replied suddenly anxious at seeing the lone tear that rolled down the side of her face. Pressing a kiss against the corner of that eye his lips moved back to hers for a soft heart wrenching kiss. A kiss that felt like wonder, and happiness and happily ever after. A kiss that had Arohi feeling loved and protected. A kiss that had Arohi moving to a dream world where it was her and Arjun and their love. A kiss that had her believing that yes he was only hers. Forever hers.
But what she'd forgotten was that nothing is forever and sometimes the ones you love the most are the ones that have the ability to hurt you the most.
