--hour later--
We finally reach the base after an hour, trudging along with me now carrying Maya.
Our base is in the side of a mountain, with a huge garage that's also the entrance. Ghost pulls the garage door open and walks inside.
The inside of the PIE base is one huge room with an upstairs. The downstairs consists of a kitchen, living room, garage space for cars, and some equipment.
The upstairs has more equipment, Ghost and I's room, a guest room, and Aimee's room.
Who's Aimee? Aimee is a ghost. She's French and from the 1700's. She's our friend but Mostly mine, since she seems to love me. She helps around, but sometimes gets annoying.
Aimee was sitting on a stool in the kitchen when she saw us.
"Hiiii Toast" she says, giggling and floating off the chair over to me.
"Hi Aimee" I say, walking through her to the couch to set the girl down.
"Who's the girl?" She asks, suddenly appearing next to me.
"Maya. Found her on the street" Ghost replied for me, grabbing the first aid kit from the kitchen.
"Toast, you take a break. I'll fix up the girl" Ghost says, sitting on the ground next to the girl.
"Ok sir" I say, turning and entering the kitchen. I grab a cup and pour some coffee in and then walk up the stairs to my room.
Once I close the door to my room, I pushed my closet over a bit, pulled the wood from the floor, and got out my secret part of my coffee. Whiskey.
Ghost had known before I put whiskey in my coffee and he told me to stop. But I never did. I poured a bit into my coffee and took a sip, setting the whiskey back under floor and putting the wood back.
"Oh that's good" I say, chuckling. I set the coffee on my side table and lay on my bed, looking up at the ceiling.
I close my eyes and as I'm about to rest, I feel a presence near me. I open one of my eyes to see Aimee floating above me.
"Hi Toast" she says, giggling. I rolled eyes, closing them.
"What so you want, Aimee?"
"I just wanted to know who that girl is" she said.
I opened both eyes this time and looked at her confused.
"Ghost already told you."
"But who is she really?" Aimee asked, floating down so she sat on the edge of my bed. I sat up in bed to face her.
"What do you mean by that?"
"She seems suspicious. There's something about her, I know it" Aimee says before she disappears.
I lay back down and try to sleep, but what Aimee said keeps me up all night.
