--Maya’s POV—

I stared into the face of Jimmy Casket, facing doom. Toast was next to me, holding tightly onto my hand and pointing a gun at Casket. Then, suddenly, Toasts arms were wrapped around my body, my back now facing the cliff.

“Stay safe Maya,” I heard him whisper in my ear before I felt my self being pushed back, off the cliff. My expression turning to shock, I tried to catch my balance. But it was too late; I felt my feet reach the edge as I fell back and off the cliff. Knowing this was the end, I closed my eyes, awaiting sudden death.

Seconds later, instead of hitting something hard and my life ending, nothing happened. Opening one eye, I saw myself looking up at the cliff. Then I looked below me.

My body was hovering a few feet above the ground. Freaking out again, I quickly looked around before catching gazes with a young girl with amber colored hair.

“Hello!” she said in a girly, high pitched voice with a bit of a French accent.

“W-Wha...” was all I could get out. Noticing the fear in my look, the girl quickly did something and I felt my butt touch the ground. Turning around, I looked up at the girl. She wore a green dress with a yellow sash and a blue flower in her hair.

“W-who are you?”

“Oh, I’m Aimee! I’m Ghosty and Toasty’s friend!” she said and I looked down to see her hovering a few inches off the ground. That’s when I realized it.

“Y-you’re a ghost!?” Aimee nodded as I stood up.

“Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you!” I sighed, brushing myself off and looking back up at the cliff. I could barely see Toast looking down at us. He waved before disappearing off the cliff.

“Come on! I promised Toasty we would meet him at the next town!” she said and I turned to see her walking off. I quickly caught up with her.

“Where is this next town?”

“Oh just a few minutes down, don’t worry!” she said, floating a foot ahead of me. I sighed again, following Aimee the Ghost.
