--Maya’s POV—

A while later, me and Aimee, Toast and Ghost’s ghost friend, reached the next town which was a bit more populated than the last one. We met up with Toast at a nearby hotel. When Toast saw me, he quickly ran over.

“Are you okay?” He asked me. Instead of answering, I held up my hand and slapped him across the face.

“What was that for!?” He exclaimed, holding his reddened cheek.

“That’s for scaring the hell out of me!!” Toast sighed, pulling me into a hug.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t realize Aimee was down there and I had to do it before Casket got us.”

“Wait, what happened to Casket!?” I asked as we broke apart.

“Made a deal with him. Ghost is in the back seat, asleep.” Looking out the hotel window, I saw Ghost curled up in the back seat, his gray hood pulled over his hair. I smiled, nodding.

“I’m going to get us rooms; you go get Ghost,” Toast said before walking off towards the front desk. Rolling my eyes, I walked out of the hotel and over to the car. Opening the back seat, I took a second to watch Ghost sleep.

Ghost looks so cute sleeping,

I thought to myself. Upon realizing what I was thinking, I quickly slapped myself mentally. Then I reached over and shook Ghost’s shoulder.

“Wakey wakey, Ghost,” I said as I saw Ghost’s eyes open.

“M-Maya? What happened?” Knowing I couldn’t tell Ghost the truth, I lied.

“You passed out at the other hotel. Me and Toast put you in the back seat and drove to the next town.” Ghost sat up, placing a hand to his forehead.

“D-did you guys catch Casket?” I nodded and Ghost sighed, getting out of the back seat. I watch close the door before turning me. Suddenly, my arms wrap around his neck, hugging him.

“Whoa Maya, what’s wrong?” Ghost asks as I feel his arms wrap around my waist, hugging back.

“Oh, I just… was worried about you,” I stumbled to say.

Why did I hug him!? Why am I acting like this!? D-Do I have feelings for Ghost!?

We stop hugging and Ghost places a hand on my head, patting it.

“Thanks,” He says, smiling. I smile back before leading him back into the hotel where we meet up with Toast.

“How are you feeling, sir?” Toast asks as we walk up.

“Good; just a bit of a headache,” Ghost replies.

“That’s good; I got us all a room. Here’s your keys,” Toast says, handing me and Ghost a hotel room key.

“We will talk more tomorrow. Goodnight guys,” Toast says before walking up the stairs to the rooms. Ghost and I stood there in silence for a while before I felt him turn to me.

“Ladies first,” He said, chuckling a bit. I smile, blushing as I head up the stairs. Ghost follows behind. When we get up to the second floor, we find our room; which somehow are right next to eachother.

“See you tomorrow,” I hear Ghost say as I walk into my room and close the door. Once I’m alone in my room, my back hits the door and I slide to the floor.

“What the hell is going on?” I ask myself out loud, rubbing my face.

“I just probably need to get some sleep,” I say, standing up and trudging to the bed. I lay down and fall asleep when my head hits the pillow.
