--Ghost's POV; Hour later--
It has been an hour since Maya and I raced away from the HQ. Maya fell asleep a while ago, her back facing me. It's just turning daytime.
My thoughts are still stuck on the last thing I saw at HQ. Jimmy Casket was standing there, outside the HQ, his knife bloodied.
And Toast was nowhere to be seen.
Casket couldn't have killed Toast, he couldn't!! Toast was my partner, I trusted him!!
I grip the steering wheel tightly as I see the first sign of a town in the distance. I look over at Maya and shake her shoulder.
"Wake up, we are near a town." Maya grunts a bit before sitting back up. She yawns, smoothing her hair down.
"Any signs of Casket?" She asks and I shake my head. The buildings appear more as we enter the almost empty town. I find a cheap hotel and park.
"What's the plan?" I hear Maya ask. I shrug, getting out of the car. Toast usually came up with the good ideas, but since he's gone...
"Hey, Ghost, you okay?" Maya says, pulling me out of my thoughts. I sigh and shake my head. I feel Maya hand on my shoulder and I look over at her.
"We will figure this out; even without Toast," she says before starting towards the hotel. I wait before following.
((Might be awhile before next chapter out - this was posted about 2 hours before I go to school. I remember thinking ideas of what to have happen next the night before, but I just got to remember them :P but I do know... That some familiar characters will be showing up :3
