--Toast’s POV; Years ago--
Mother told me I should go outside for a while; thought it was raining badly. I agreed and made my way outside, not caring if my hair got wet. Standing just outside the front door, I noticed something, or someone.
It seemed to be another boy, soaked to the bone, sitting outside on the curb. Interested on who the kid was, I ran inside and grabbed my gray hoodie before heading over to the boy.
“Are you okay?” I asked the boy, standing over him. The boy looked up at me and I got a better look at him. He had brown hair, which stuck to his face from the rain. He had bangs, which hung down just between his eyes. His pupils were brown, just a bit lighter than his hair color.
He had on a light blue tee and jeans, along with black tennis shoes. He had a confused look on his face, which a tint of worry too.
“Are you okay, sir?” I asked again and the boy spoke.
“I-I don’t know.” I bit my lip and bent down in front of the boy, handing him the gray hoodie.
“Here, have this; you’re soaking wet.” The boy hesitantly took it and put it on, pulling the hood over his hair.
“What are you doing out here?” I asked.
“I don’t know.” This boy seemed suspicious and somehow didn’t remember why he was out here. I looked pass him and up at the old, abandoned house that sat just next door to my house. It, supposedly, was owned by the Casket family, a strange family that never really left the house. It was a family of a mother, father and their son. Looking back at the strange boy, I thought
Is this the Casket boy?
I pointed to the house behind the boy and asked.
“Is that where you live?” The boy looked behind him at the house and suddenly freaked out, jumping back at me. I fell back, onto my butt, the boy falling on me.
“What’s wrong, sir!?” I ask but the boy didn’t answer; he just pointed at the house. I followed his finger to see what he was looking at. I saw nothing.
“Sir, you must be delusional. Come inside my house, my mum and I will take care of you,” I said, getting up from below the boy and helping him up. He was hesitant, not wanting to move. I sighed, taking his hand.
“It’s okay; come on,” I say, taking him inside my house.
