--Maya’s POV; Just a few minutes prior—

I was awoken from my restless sleep from a strange sound coming from my hotel window. I open one eye and stares up at the colorless ceiling. It’ just turning to night, so reddish-yellow sunlight streams in from outside.  I turn my head in the direction of the window and open my other eye.

The window is opened halfway, the breeze blowing in from outside. Confused, I sit up in my bed and run my fingers through my hair.

“I thought that thing couldn’t open,” I say to myself as I stand up and trudge over to the window. I run one finger down the slightly cold glass and take a look outside.  Then I get a strange feeling as a shiver falls down my spine.

I stiffen up as I feel a cold hand place itself on my shoulder. My gaze goes to the reflection and I hold my breath. Casket stands behind me, only a few inches taller, staring at me in the reflection. I quickly turn around and back up against the window, hands scanning the wall and surroundings for a weapon.

“Hello again, Maya,” I hear his voice say and my gaze goes back up to him. I open my mouth but no words seem to escape.

“Why do you keep running away? You never did before-“He takes a step closer and runs a hand down my cheek. Another shiver goes down my spine.

“-Before you changed. Do you remember before?” He asks me and I quickly shake my head. I don’t have any idea what he is talking about.  And for some reason, he seems to be acting less… less crazy then he is predicted to be.

“Well don’t worry, I’ll fix you,” He says as he leans in. I just start to let a scream escape as his lips push against mine. Then it goes black.
