--Maya’s POV; present--

I listened to Toast’s story and was amazed. I never knew that about Ghost.

“Did you ever figure out Ghost’s past?”

“Yeah; pretty surprising, actually. Have you heard of the Gregory case?” My eyes went wide when Toast mentioned the case.

“Um, who hasn’t? It’s one of the most controversial paranormal cases out there!”

“Well, I know the story behind it; the truth.” I sat up in the car seat, staring at Toast.

“Tell me, tell me!” Toast chuckled a bit before turning to me a bit.

“Well, let’s start with the case.  Supposedly, a kid goes insane because of a paranormal entity taking the form of a cardboard figure name Cardboard Friend.”

“When the case starts up, the kid AND paranormal entity disappears and case is left unsolved. They never found out where the kid went or is now. But I know.” I lean in closer to Toast, wanted to hear.

“Gregory… is Ghost.” My eyes go wide as I sit back.

“B-but what!? How!?” Toast laughs a bit and motions for me to calm down.

“As a kid, Ghost’s parents died while he was at a young age. Ghost, or Gregory, never got taken into adoption so he was left alone in the abandoned house. Note, this all happened before I moved next door from the UK.

Anyway, while left alone in the house, Gregory got in contact with a paranormal entity taking the form of a cardboard figure. The entity started befriending Gregory before slowing turning Gregory insane. That is how Casket is created.”

“So Casket isn’t just another person stuck inside Ghost, Casket is just another side of Ghost!?” Toast nods.

“Casket, at the young of an age, was only able to take control ether when Gregory saw blood or when Cardboard Friend made him.

Anyway, soon Gregory realized Cardboard friend was pretty much manipulating him, Gregory knew he had to escape. And since he had never left the house since Cardboard Friend was creating, Gregory took his first steps outside.”

“Then what happened!?” Toast laughed, placing a hand on my shoulder.

“Calm down Maya, let me tell the story.” I nodded, calming down.

“Where was I? Oh, yeah; Gregory took his first steps outside since his parents died and Cardboard Friend was created. When that happened, Cardboard friend pretty much lost control over Gregory and Gregory lost all of his memory. And that was when I found him outside in the pouring rain.”

I sat forward in the car seat, still stunned at all this information.

“T-this is crazy! I mean, literally amazing!” was all I was able to say. Toast nodded, looking back at the road. Or… what WAS the road. Toast suddenly stopped the car as I stared in front of me.

The road pretty much ended; no sign about it or nothing. Instead of the read, a cliff laid ahead of us. That’s when my mind flashed back.

 Flashed back to when I jumped out of my car getting chased by Casket and blacked out.

 Flashed back to the dream.

And then I realized it.

The cliff ahead of us was the cliff in my dream.
