Alice's head turned to her door once she heard it open. Standing in her entrance, she saw him. The man she had loved for 25 years but had given up on once his wife came into town.
"FP what are you-"
"I'm done pretending Alice! This whole charade we've got going on, pretending to not want to be together is getting to me!" He said as he paced around her living room.
"Your wife came back into town, you were the one who stopped us! Not me!" She replied as she stands up from the couch pointing her finger at him.
"Because I knew Jug wanted the family together and I didn't want to ruin that for him!" He said putting a hand through his hair, a mouvement Alice knew very well.
"I know, I get it! You want the family together" she said as she fiddled with her thumbs. Part of her wanted to yell at him but the other part wanted to kiss him.
"No, he wanted the family back together! I could never forgive Gladys for what she did" he said looking straight into her ocean eyes.
She looked away as fast as possible to avoid the tension, although it was too hard to avoid.
"FP, just go! You have your family, you have your serpents and you have a job! Go live your life and leave me alone!" She said. She didn't mean it but, he had to get over her.
"No" he replied
"FP get out"
"No" he replied again, this time more firm
"Get the HELL OUT!" She yelled.
"NO!" He yelled back
"WHY NOT??" She said as she stepped closer
"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU OKAY? I LOVE YOU! NOT HER, YOU ALICE! you..." he said as he calmed down.
She froze. She was afraid of love, especially his love. She couldn't think of a response, she just stood there looking into his eyes.
"Al, I love you! I've loved you for over 25 years and I don't care about my wife or getting my family back together because I want you to be my family!" He says as he puts her hands into his.
"We have our problems, we do, but the best part about us is that we work through them because our love is stronger than anyone's I've ever known! You are it for me, I should have never let you leave me. We always have the best times together, you make me laugh, cry, think but most importantly you make me happy and after everything we've been through, we deserve each other" he said still holding her hands.
Alice didn't know what to say, it's what she has been wanting to hear since she was only 16 years old. She didn't even notice a few tears escaping her eyes.
"Please give me another chance, we'll do it right this time! I give you my heart" he says as he places her hand on his beating heart.
She sighs as more tears start flowing down. He wipes them with his thumb and caresses her cheek. She looks him in the eyes and she starts leaning in towards him. She longed to kiss him but she was afraid to let herself go and to get hurt again! But she couldn't resist. Their lips touched and it was as if it was their first kiss. It quickly escalated and it turned very passionate. FP broke away and cupped her face in his.
"I'm taking that as a yes?" He chuckled
She smiled
"Your the only man I've ever truly loved"
He looks at her. He was so lucky he got her.
